The Elite Strap for the Meta Quest 3 addresses two of the biggest shortcomings of the base headset when you’re demoing or sharing the device: it replaces the cloth fabric rear headstrap with a silicone rubber interface that’s much easier to clean, and the head size adjustment is reduced to a simple dial at the rear and a single, easy to use strap along the top. It’s intuitive and simple to understand, which speeds up setup switching from user to user. A very nice touch is that the strap can be tightened just by pressing the rear towards the headset, spinning the adjustment dial automatically and clicking into place at each step. The change in ergonomics from the cloth headstrap are noticeable. First, the contoured silicone pad spreads pressure on the back of the head, allowing a tighter and more secure fit without feeling uncomfortable - useful for fast-paced action games. Second, this creates a much wider “anchor” point for the headset to pull against, which results in a more even distribution of weight from the headset and greatly reduces the front-heaviness felt when in use. I wouldn’t say it’s at the level of the Elite Strap with Battery, however - the lack of a counterweight still means it’s reliant on the grip at the back of your head to prevent pulling down on your face. It’s still quite the improvement. The only things I don’t like about the Elite Strap are the packaging, which is fairly large and wasteful for such a simple plastic device, and the steep asking price for what it is. I would recommend the Elite Strap with Battery instead, since it extends playtime significantly while being more comfortable than this model due to its counterbalancing effect, but if you’re simply looking for a quick way to share a Quest 3 among friends and family, the Elite Strap meaningfully improves that experience. Recommended.

Very expensive but It is amazing how everything that you spend on Meta works together differently than you think. This extension of your power does NOT charge up your internal battery pack unlike the old concept of plugging in a power bank to keep your internal battery topped off and continuously charging to give you extra power. This Elite Strap with battery provides your Quest 3 with a separate power source that uses the battery as though it is using it as a primary and switches to your internal battery when the power is completely used up. So you get between the internal and external battery somewhere around 4 to 5 hours of usage. So you get between the internal and external battery somewhere around 4 to 5 hours of usage. Quite different from using an external power bank that simply keeps the internal charged up and basically destroying your internal battery over time much like keeping your laptop on plug all the time. How do I know that it isn't charging up your internal battery? when you hover your cursor above the battery indicator in your hud inside your headset it shows your two batteries and its power. If you turn off your external battery by pressing and holding down the power button located beside the usb-c connector at the back, you should see 100% remaining on the internal battery. Over time some internal battery is used and some external battery is used. Never do we see charging when the elite strap battery is plugged in. If you do plug a power bank into the usb-c plugin on the headset you see a "charging indicator" instead of the two power source of the elite strap battery. Is it worth the price of the elite strap with battery? well it is the only external battery that will probably double the usage time of your headset without charging your internal battery..... and even though you could charge your elite strap battery by plugging a power source into the usb-c plug at the back of the elite strap and I heard that you have to keep the usb-c battery plugged into the quest 3 while charging otherwise you only get 70% charging, you probably might need to spend twice the money to buy the charging dock that was made for this purpose because probably it charges the elite strap battery separately but charges fully through the quest 3 headset circuitry. So complicated and so so expensive. plus after 4 hours on the dock if you leave your quest 3 ON while charging, it never fully charges.... putting my headset on to see about 90% charged after 4 hours. So I turned off my headset and an hour later the light turns green on both my headset and my elite strap battery indicator. Yup you need this Elite Strap with Battery and the Charging Dock both.... sigh.... I don't think you can call this nickel and dimming you, more like robbing you with accessories.

No special tools are needed for any purpose during the swap out.The top band is a quality fabric strap with a rubber coated velcro hook end. The end slides right into the top slot above the nose bridge on the Quest 3 and is quickly returned by the contour of the slot.At the back of the strap is a rubber cradle that helps to further secure the Quest 3 around your head. It is a somewhat thick but soft rubber and seems very sturdy. At the outside back of the strap is a dial. This dial expands the strap when turned counter clockwise and contracts the strap when turned clockwise. When you turn it clockwise, it clicks as it ratchets into place, providing the most secure fit you are going to get with one of these VR headsets.Overall the quality is great and the tighter more secure feeling works out great for the higher intensity games and apps.

The fans are loud, it gets hot and steamy (fogs)It has no integration with facial capture, motion capture, I got it so I can try and play beat saber on PC (because of better mod support) and lo and behold the connection is terrible so I had to buy the same game a second time through the meta store because steam, discord, and all the software I commonly use and wanted to use via meta is blocked and I need work arounds (like steam VR or the horribly buggy and battery intensive Oculus direct) just to use my pc with it.I tried to show it to my family and have them try, and after buying more than 100 dollars worth of games and other vr dodads on the meta store, there's nothing worth doing after couple of minutes. The one thing they keep wanting me to do is get on Meta Universe or whatever the new name is that they keep changing to, but that's filled with 9 to 13 year olds, which I guess makes sense considering how this system is absolute trash when it comes to real gaming, pc integration, or workingPlease just get steam Index or HTV VIVE... every aspect of META 3 has been a dumpster fire, and the worst of all is the fact that the elite strap is not a luxury but a must because the Meta 3 is ACTUALLY unusable without it.
The Meta - Quest 3 Elite Strap is a nice upgrade over the standard strap that comes with the Meta Quest 3 headset. You just snap out the facial interface from the headset, remove the standard head strap, extend the side straps on the Elite Strap, attach the new side straps, connect the top strap and reinstall the facial interface.- The Elite Strap is a much nicer strap than the standard strap that comes with the Meta Quest 3. The standard strap allows you to manually slide some pieces of the strap on the back of the head to get a better fit, as well as adjust Velcro to secure everything. The Elite Strap provides better, more solid plastic side strap pieces and has a dial control feature that sits behind a padded piece which sits on the back of your head. The dial allows you to automatically crank the side straps in or out to tighten or loosen the headset. When you get it to the comfortable fit on the sides, then you just tighten the one top Velcro strap to fit your head. Once this is done, then you can just use the dial to loosen and tighten it when taking it off or putting it on. After the initial set up, it is much easier to adjust to your liking each time you use it without adjusting the Velcro on top.- With the original head strap, I found I was getting my hair caught in the Velcro and in the back pieces that slide in and out to adjust it, plus if I was doing an activity such as using a fitness app, the sliding straps on the back of the standard strap would move and loosen up. With the Elite Strap, I have not had any issues getting hair caught in the strap and once you have the dial set to your liking, the strap does not loosen up when using the headset for an active program where you are moving around. The Elite strap just feels more secure when moving around and it is definitely more comfortable to wear. The Meta Quest 3 Elite Strap is a nice upgrade over the standard strap that comes with the unit.
I have a love/hate relationship with my Elite Strap with Battery. So far this strap hasn't broken and it does appear to be somewhat thicker than the Quest 2 strap, so for that reason I think it was actually a good move to create a new strap rather than have the Quest 2 strap fit on the Quest 3 (I will eat my words, however, if this strap breaks). On my old Quest 2 I originally had an Elite Strap without battery since I was using a VR Power bank and found the strap to be extremely comfortable. Then everyone's straps started breaking so I sold my Elite Strap for what I could before going route of the Frankenquest 2. Then I sold my old setup to a friend and bought the Quest 3, this time with the Elite Strap with Battery. Then everyone's straps started breaking so I sold my Elite Strap for what I could before going route of the Frankenquest 2. Then I sold my old setup to a friend and bought the Quest 3, this time with the Elite Strap with Battery. I am one of those people who actually likes the soft strap this time around (I know, I know, but I have a really small head)...HOWEVER, once I swapped it out for the Elite Strap with Battery (the Quest battery on its own will barely get you through a short movie, so you MUST have an additional battery option), I couldn't get the Elite Strap off. It was very easy to put on and adjust, but there should be an equally easy way of popping it off so you could in theory go back/forth between it and Meta's own soft strap when e.g. watching movies. The Elite Strap WILL suck up all of the battery power from the headset if it remains plugged in after you have charged the headset and battery strap. So although the battery strap must be plugged into the headset while charging, you must unplug it just after if you aren't planning on playing right away in order for the headset AND battery strap to keep their charge. I also recommend fully powering down the headset when not in use (at least at night). I also found that although the Elite battery strap alone is quite comfortable, I still needed additional battery for longer play sessions...if only the battery was hot swapable like some 3rd party options...but since its not and because I don't like wearing batteries on my head, I bought the second gen VR Power (I had the first gen, but modified it to fit my old Frankenquest and sold to my friend) and attached it to the back of a vest meant to hold OG battery banks when playing VR. It then plugs into the back of the Elite battery strap and that solution gives me more than enough playing time :)
It’s a great accessory, but why this isn’t included as the standard strap is a mystery to me. That said, it is a necessity if you plan on playing in comfort. The ergonomics of the adjustable back piece are worth the price alone. The level of comfort and crown fatigue is dramatically better when using an elite strap. It is easy to install and tightening via the dial on the back is a nice touch. The tightening mechanism kind of reminds me of the BOA fit system that I have on my snowboarding boots. You turn the dial clockwise to tighten / decrease the size and counterclockwise to loosen / increase the size of the strap. It would be awesome if (like the BOA system) you could simply push the dial in to loosen the strap before removing the headset.Once you get it ... MoreIt’s a great accessory, but why this isn’t included as the standard strap is a mystery to me. It fits inside the dedicated Quest 3 case perfectly as well, so the entire ecosystem has been thought out well. There is also an Elite strap that has a battery for longer playtime. I can see charging extra for that, but again, I would still prefer this version (without the battery) to be standard equipment on all Quest bundles.
The Meta Quest 3 Elite Strap is a very decent strap which at the turn of a dial can be adjusted to most head sizes. With a solid build, plastic on the sides, and with a back head support for extra comfort, it is very comfortable to wear. The original Meta Quest 3 strap misses the mark, it is uncomfortable, and in true honesty, it makes the Quest 3 look cheap (if you care about looks), so do yourself a favor and spend the extra bucks to replace it with a better one. I replaced it with a Meta Quest 3 Elite Strap, and it made a whole world of difference; the Quests 3 not only fits better, and it is easier to adjust to your head, but it looks very stylish.>> SetupI recommend following the instructions that come with the package to replace the original strap with the Quest 3 Elite one, as it is a little hard to remove the original strap and you’d want to avoid breaking things (although the construction and materials seem solid.) Don’t feel lucky and attempt to do it without looking at the instructions. Some feedback on the tedious process of replacing the strap (well nothing is perfect):- I decided to cover the lenses while changing the original strap with the Elite Strap, as it is notas easy to pull the original strap off the Quest 3 and you risk planting your fingerprints on the lenses.- When removing the facial interface (the one that rests your face against the Quest 3), pull it off applying increasing force carefully (I was scared to apply too much force and ruin my new Quest 3.) In fact, removing and reinstalling the facial interface feels clumsy, I would have expected a better design.- For removing the original strap apply just enough pressure and pull to the side. The original strap material doesn’t look very solid, so be careful with breaking it.- When replacing the facial interface, it is a little hard to tell whether it is in its correct position. So before removing it, make sure you feel how tight it is and whether some parts feel loose or not. Anyways, pushing until no more “clicks” are heard, seems to do the trick.>> FitThere is a huge difference between the original Quest 3 strap and the Quest 3 Elite strap, the Elite Strap built is more solid with plastic sides, a back head rest for extra comfort, top strap for securing the device more tightly, and it gives the Quest 3 the extra deserved stylish look. Note that despite the extra comfort gained when compared to the original Quest 3 strap, your head might still feel a little uncomfortable after prolonged periods of time wearing the Quest 3.Adjusting the head strap is very easy, just turn the back dial to accommodate the person’s head, then turn in the opposite direction to tighten it up to the head, to the appropriate pressure, it is just that easy. Then you can use the top strap to more solidly attach the Quest 3 to your head. We’ve had some friends come over whom we entertained with the Meta Quest 3, it was very easy to pass the device from one person to the other, and adjust it for the best viewing experience.Lastly, something I found interesting is that I would sometimes just adjust the dial in the back of the head, and not the top strap, leaving it loose, and still the device would hold fine.
The Elite strap for the previous Quest 2 has a reputation for not being the most sturdy or long-lasting strap, causing many Quest 2 users to look to 3rd party straps. So far, this new Elite strap for the Quest 3 has worked flawlessly. Installation was a breeze, and it attached must the same way that the Quest 2 strap did. Installing this new Elite strap still provides easy access to the headphone and USB-C ports for charging and audio. The biggest pros of this strap are it's overall stability and comfort, as well as ease of use. I can put on my headset and within seconds get it centered on my head and tightened comfortably. I have had a few people try this headset as well, and it is a quick and easy process to get the head strap adjusted for different sizes. It's a quick and easy way that allows multiple people to use the same headset without messing with a ton of adjustments or settings. This new Elite strap, along with the slimmer Quest 3, feel a lot more balanced and comfortable on my head that the Quest 2 did. Overall I would recommend this strap for anyone looking for additional comfort or stability while enjoying VR in their new Quest 3 headset.
I preordered this strap with the battery pack in it and it delivered to me on day one of the Quest 3 launch. At first the strap charged fine, and charged my headset and I could play VR upwards of 3-4 hours no problem. Then after a few uses, it just stopped. I could not charge through the strap anymore, and the Quest does not read the strap's battery pack at all. I have tried EVERYTHING. After a ton of personal troubleshooting, I turned to the internet only to find that this is a majorly widespread issue and I don't know what is taking so long to fix it. It does not seem to be a hardware issue, but rather a firmware issue because there are tons of people that have returned and bought new ones several times over with the same result in the end of it stopping working, ... MoreI preordered this strap with the battery pack in it and it delivered to me on day one of the Quest 3 launch. It does not seem to be a hardware issue, but rather a firmware issue because there are tons of people that have returned and bought new ones several times over with the same result in the end of it stopping working, rather quickly. I am assuming that Meta is aware of this, and looking into a patch of somesort to fix it, but until then, this is just an extremely expensive strap at $130. Really bummed about it.To not entirely just complain about this item, the strap itself is very comfortable, and I like it a lot, but the point is that I could have paid half the price and gotten just the strap instead of adding a useless battery to it. Or better yet, potentially purchased a third party strap with a battery in it that actually works. I just figured I would get the first party accessory and that it would do what it says, but I am very disappointed that is not the case here. Save your money. If they ever come out with a patch that fixes this issue, I will happily change my score and re-review this product.
