This is TOTALLY softer than the stock facial interface. Less stress on those cheeks and forehead. It does tend to suction to your face over time. Had ZERO issues with adjusting the distance of the interface (for glasses). And it’s obvious that a lot of the cost is coming from replacing the entire facial interface. Pricey yes - but it is an OEM replacement. I ordered VR cover’s quest 3 facial interface fabric covers (has extra padding) for over top this - so i can wash the covers (you get 2) and keep/wipe the actually silicone interface clean. Essential if you sweat often IMO.

I personally like it better than the default one that comes with the headset. The default one hurt my face with only a little use. This one I can wear for an hour or two with no complaints.

I picked up a Quest 3 on launch day yesterday, only to find out that the silicone covers that the quest 2 came with are totally absent.The facial interface with the silicone covers that you can actually wipe down and clean are an additional charge, but upon taking this home and installing, the depth adjustment for wearing glasses will not stay locked in the "outer position" and the tension from the strap causes the right side to collapse back to the closest setting, and the left side collapses back to position 2.If you wear glasses and need the depth adjustment for proper viewing, then this accessory will render your Quest 3 blurry and useless.

There is no problem with the glasses spacer, it works fine. I think the ithwr reviewer got a lemon or is using rhe stock strap. I have the Elite strap with battery. The change this time around is Meta includes the housing insert with the silicone, so it’s not just a silicone cover you slap on. I suspect this is a naked cash grab to pad their bottom line for accessories that should have come standard. I believe the actual cost to manufacture is around $2. Was I ripped off? Should have been the default face pice for the quest. I took away from the value rating because it should have been the default face puce to come with the quest 3.
I was super surprised I didn't think I needed the facial interface. The one that comes with the mediquest is fabric and liable to soak up sweat. This takes away that factor and includes the entire facial interface. At first I thought it was just a piece of silicone for $40. Definitely a good buy if you're going to share your headset at all.
The facial interface that comes with the Quest 3 was very very uncomfortable for me....i had always used silicone on my Quest 2 so this was a no-brainer purchase!! I can play for hours with no discomfort....my glasses fit just as easily with the silicone....and it doesn't irritate my skin at all compared to the stock interface. I highly recommend buying this product!!
Another accessory that adds quality of life to this incredible headset. The one that ships with it isn't horrible but it is cloth and you will sweat So it will absorb that and over a time will probably collect a fair amount of bacteria and be a little difficult to clean. This upgrade actually makes it far easier to clean and it's very soft and comfortable. Drawback is that once again it feels like something that should have shipped with the headset and is an expensive accessory to get it to the comfort level that it should be out of the box.
After the quest 2 debacle with the cloth facial interface why wasn’t this the default? I hate that this had to be separate. So much easier to clean. Either get this or a vr cover, something you can clean easily.
