If they don't get the girlfriends, they die.Your "wife" is an annoying blank slate. Her only traits of character are sick and pregnant.Despite claiming it was based on Metro 2035, this game was not. Metro 2035 entire story takes place... shockingly... in the metro. Although metro 2035 wasn't a good book compared to the previous ones so I guess this game is a spot on spiritual adaptation lol.Driving is atrocious, I can't even understand why they put it in nor why some people praise it like the experience is as good as a full on racing game. The meh - you still get to shoot stuff but you shouldn't as usual.Game is very easy but a lot of people call it hard.

Metro Exodus - Gold Edition is my first foray into this Game publisher's work. The game is quite beautiful, with lush, atmospheric backgrounds and some of the nicest invisible UI work available. Nothing gets in the way of believing "you are there" with a nicely designed in-game map and compass which seamlessly lets you know where you are going without annoying stuff destroying the game immersion aspects. It's exceedingly well done in this respect.Characters and voice acting are swell. The whole Russian vibe gives the game it's own ambiance. There is a cool feature with your backpack where you can carry parts and choose what you need for a particular mission. For instance, you can choose a silencer, (if you have found one) for quiet jobs and a scope if you know you will be at range. You can detach parts from found guns and keep them in your bag. You can put together simple things right there on the job, or, use benches in-world for creating ammo and stuff. Very nice.My only wish, really, for this awesome title is a desire for more of an "open world", where I can really choose to wander a bit more. While they do take pains to leave some basic exploring along the missions, it is pretty limited. At least it's not real obvious, as it seems you can do more than you really can. So, kudos for disguising the limitations.Overall, this is a great stealthy, immersive shooter with a fabulous story that is really inspiring and exciting. The writing is top notch, and the UI and visuals are among the best for a game of this age. Very pleased,

The game's story is strong from start to finish. Exodus does a great job of continuing Artyom's story and compels you to want to explore the world around you. You will likely need to move up the difficulty settings to feel a similar challenge to the older games but that's just a matter of moving up the difficulty setting. I gave it 4 stars because the non-enhanced edition feels poorly optimized for PC (I have played the game on both console and PC) but the PC enhanced edition has likely fixed it. My graphics card is not powerful enough to run the PC enhanced edition though so I can't give an account of that version.

The best entry in the Metro series which is saying quite a lot given just how great its two predecessors were. The team behind the series went a slightly different approach this time around with the gameplay being more open ended with various sandbox maps. Exodus definitely shows its S.T.A.L.K.E.R. roots in how it handles exploration in these sandbox areas. Graphics are excellent and the story is a fitting finale to the trilogy. The Gold Edition is the way to go as it includes the two DLC expansions. The Two Colonels is more traditional Metro while Sam's Story continues Exodus’s gameplay mix of sandbox and linear segments in a whole new location. Both are fantastic and are must plays if you enjoy Metro or the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games.

I have to admit that I haven't play the first two Metro games (yet), so I wasn't sure what to expect. And it ended up being one of the best stealth/shooter games I've ever played! If you let it, the game tells a very detailed story in original and varied scenarios. It's also up to you whether you trudge through the game as a Rambo idiot or show more empathy and reason. The ending will be accordingly. And also the (secretly overheard) conversations of the NPCs give a very clear impression of how the outside world perceives you.I would cite "Terminator: Resistance" and "Singularity" as comparisons. On the other hand, anyone who thinks that "Wolfenstein" or "Just Cause" are awesome games is probably wrong here!

Metro Exodus has been a wild experience that feels somehow very personal to me. While 2033 and Last Light have definitely got me hooked into the series, it was Exodus that finally clicked it. In my opinion, 2033 and Last Light have always felt like a generic shooter with a cool atmosphere, but Exodus seems to have some sort of a soul/charm on its own that deeply resonated with me.The immersion that was raised to a brand new level thanks to new semi open world sandbox nature, the story moment, the characters in the game have been well written, memorable and stand out on their own.. In the past 2 games I couldn't even remember the name of a single character, this one however each one of them touched the bottom of my heart deeply. I'm really grateful for how the game knows to slow itself down quite a lot.Between the heated combat and lengthy “hold your breath” stealth section, it's the moment where I met and struck a conversation, listening to what the characters, NPCs, had been up to is where the game really shines the brightest. It's just so calm and soothing in a way that it puts a smile on my face, gives me the determination, wills, to fight through the cruel world of post apocalyptic Russia. One of the characters you meet in the game- The Admiral. At first he seems like just another one of those maniac people that was the result of this never ending nightmare of a world. But the more I listen to him,to his struggle, the more I find despite all that, he is after all still just a human, and still has the soul of a human, heck even a child actually. My heart was shattered when he asked to stay with him. It's just such a pity how the world has just claimed yet another poor innocent and turned them into this, where they sort of lost themselves in a way but still clinging to their past being. It is moments like that made me realize that, damn, this game is quite something else. It instantly became one of my top games of all time. If you are a fan of the FPS genre, fan of games like S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Fallout, or just love to play games where you actually feel like a part of it’s world, Exodus will certainly be worth your time and money. As for me, I can’t wait to see what the talented people at 4A will do next with the Metro franchise.

Well this game, it is amazing. There are so many good things about this game and to start off (which is a hard decision) it will have to obviously be the story. This game has a story mode like none other. It is simply amazing and there are no other words i can put this in, from the first second I played the game I fell in love with it and the whole trilogy. The truly unique and amazing story where you are set in a world that has been destroyed by nuclear bombardments and ravaged by terrifying beasts and mutants isnt all this game has to offer for us to be mesmerised by. I've been a fan of the Metro games since the previous generation. I've played through each game on three separate occasions. Yes they were flawed but they were also imbued with an atmosphere that created one of the most compelling series of games in the post apocalyptic survival shooter genre. Enter Metro Exodus, an evolution of the previous games without, as has happened in so many cases, losing the indefatigable spark that makes for a Metro Game. Depleted med kits, surrounded by those that would do you harm, running out of ammo, waining health, building pressure.....need to craft but where's safe. Its everything that a good survival shooter should be. The beautifully written story and the atmosphere of an irradiated and decimated world presented by the developers are everything a GREAT survival shooter should be. They get the tone of a post apocalyptic environment just so right. This tone being transported higher by the efforts that have been made to immerse the player within the game. For example there are no shining objects or unusual floating arrows pointing the way, holding thehand of the gamer guiding them like a digital sat nav. No mini map, no marker icons screaming at you to go here or there on your journey. This is an superb game the pinnacle of one of the most powerfully interesting series of games not only within the genre but in any genre on the current generation of console.
