A Masterpiece Remastered.

Metroid Prime has been a masterpiece of gaming since its original release on the Nintendo GameCube in 2002, and this Remastered release is the best way to play it. Some folks might be upset that it’s not the full Remake treatment that some other games are receiving these day, like Final Fantasy VII, but it takes nothing away from this game. I dare say trying to reinvent it in new ways would actually make the game worse. Content-wise, there are very minute changes to the Lore entries to better tie into the releases that followed Prime, but everything else remains the same. As hard as that may be, there are times you can miss your jumps as you can barely see the platform unless you look down after jumping so it will take some time to maneuver those jumps. As for the combat, it’s by far the best and Metroid Prime Remastered does a sensational job with the controls. No longer must you hold buttons to look around, and instead use analog controls which is very useful for players.With all these great new features, Metroid Prime Remastered is the perfect version of the original Metroid Prime for Metroid fans old and new.

I’ve always loved the Metroid series but never played any of the 3D titles.While it’s definitely easier than the 2D games that came before and after it, I find it refreshing as the environment and music are super immersive and weird and wonderful, giving you more time to explore rather than shoot through rooms.It’s amazing how well they were able to translate everything you’ve come to love about the 2D games in 3D form. That all said, if you’re new to the series, it’s not a bad place to start and you won’t feel lost or confused. The only thing that can get confusing is the map but zooming out to world map and then back in to local map will help guide you to which exits route you to what entrances in different parts of the game. I wasn't sold on playing the original Metroid Prime again as the 2nd in the series is my favorite, but it has been about 13 years since I've played a Metroid Prime game. I took a moment to think about what makes Metroid Prime an excellent game. And for me, it comes down to how they don't make you wait through a big intro to play the game. They just throw you into an easy beginning area, and give you some powers to show you the game. And then, they take those powers away and basically set you off as a weak version of yourself and let you figure out how to get those powers back. This is a perfect remaster, because it looks how you would remember the original and it holds up due to the gameplay being perfect when it originally came out. I understand this game is a classic when it comes to Nintendo but as a first time player of any Metroid game I must say…. This game is far too confusing for me. The game does a great job at telling you where to go only after roamimg around in circles for minutes on end. The map/world layout can be frustrating to work with. I can’t tell you how many times I circled the same place thinking I was getting somewhere only to end up circling back around to the main world. The enemies can get pretty annoying as they respawn too soon after you leave and come back to the area. The bosses on the other hand are really fun so I’ll give the game props for that. One of the finest masterpieces in gaming history

Also, I couldn't get a trilogy for the Wii because I was poor and had no job during the Great Recession so I can live with that. When Nintendo announced the remaster in early 2023, I was hyped that it was finally coming to the Switch. Though I was confused at some points and I used Youtube for help since (I assume) the official strategy guides no longer exist, and Youtube is mainly one of the reasons why. I adored this masterpiece so much, and it's truly a gem.POSITIVE:-The soundtrack sounded the same and there was no need to change the tones.-Improved visuals-Same difficulty-Bonuses like in-game music, artwork, and 3D models.-Bring a new generation to the Metroid franchise.Despite I give this remastered version a 5-star, the only complaint/negative I had is there's no suit from the GBA game called Metroid Fusion. I was hoping that as a bonus after beating a game, and nothing had shown about the Fusion suit. Do you remember that Gameboy Player for the Gamecube where you can connect it when you had to unlock the Fusion suit after beating both Metroid Fusion and Prime? Sadly, the Fusion suit is not present in this version.Besides, this is a game everybody should play, and it's still a must-play. Not only one of the best Nintendo games, it's one of the finest video games ever made.

Still one of the best 1st person shooters ever

If you played the original then you know how good Metroid prime was on gamecube. With the updated visuals this game is elevated. Recommend to play this again on switch. If you're new to the prime series of Metroid then prepare yourself. All the greatness of the 2d Metroid games is here. With a new threat that threaten the chozo and the corruption of the planet tallon lV Samus is now on a new mission to figure out what happened. Alot of the familiar power ups are here with a few new ones. The music, the gorgeous environments, the new enemies and the lore all come together for a fantastic game. Not just a must play for metroid fans but for every gamer.
