I have been using this tire on my Suzuki TL1000S for several years now and had the size 190/55 ZR17 specially registered. Initially, I had a Michelin tire on the motorcycle, which didn't suit me in terms of steering behavior and cornering stability. After some research and discussions with colleagues who had already ridden the M7RR, I decided to switch to the Metzeler. Once it has warmed up or become hot, and if you have taken it relatively easy beforehand and gradually increased the lean angle, I have absolute confidence in it after 30 km, at the latest 50 km. However, everyone should rely on their own experience and abilities. After breaking in, there is great confidence in the tire from the first meter, and after some weaving in the first five kilometers, the tire has excellent grip. In the rain, I am always much more cautious than in the dry. This is less about the tire and more about the roads and conditions on familiar routes. I can highly recommend the tire to anyone who rides more sportily and will continue to use it myself.

I'm picky about tires. My annual mileage runs around 15K-20K miles, and I've been riding forever, so I've tried lots and lots of different tires in a wide range of conditions. These are good ones. Not my favorite tire, but close. They steer quickly and accurately, with confidence inspiring feedback. As a sports tire, they have the edge grip you'd expect. What is surprising for a sports tire is how well they work on cold, damp roads. It's the most confidence inspiring sports tire that I've ever used during winter months, and there is no loss of performance in hot weather. The only downside is that they don't last as long as I'd like, but they last pretty long for sports tire. I'm getting about 3500-4000 miles out of a rear tire, which for me is quite good.

WOW. Fully tuned 2008 FZ-1. Short term review. My race bike I run Pirelli Supercorsa SC3 slicks. So my review is based on those tires, The M7 RR and the Michelin Road 5's, which the M7 replaced. These tires feel more like a high performance summer tire than an all arounder. Turn in is quick. Warm up nicely in 40 and 50 degree weather. Tracks nicely. Inspires confidence. Great grip wet and dry in cooler temps. I would run these in a level 2 track day NO PROBLEM. Ran Road 5's previously. Put 2000 miles on them and hated them. They had slow turn in, wore square quickly, took work to get heat in them at 40 degrees if pushed they wiggle at high lean angles. FZ1 can't lean much without dragging pegs. Not confidence inspiring. Great Mileage for a tire that Grips this well at the Track

I am running these on my 2020 R1 at the moment. I burned up the rear OEM Bridgestone RS11 in about 1000 miles. Then I mounted a RS10 on the rear for two track days at Barber (Awesome!) and a few Dragon/Cherahola runs. The single compound tires are awesome, grippy bubble gum , but NOT for wet riding and lasted about 1500 miles. I put on a set of these M7RR’s and did a track day mSR Houston, which has a very rough surface. They worked great on the track; I could break traction hitting it hard coming out of turns, but it was very predictable and became intentional after a while. I have also made a few Dragon runs, a few freeway miles, a couple of rain rides, countless wheelies, and just some general squirting around. These tires have amazing grip in the dry and wet. Stiff tire compared to the michelin power 5's and the turn in on these are nice. Straightline stability, the michelin definitely feels better.The only thing is that they wear pretty quick. My front tire is worn by 4,000 miles and requires replacement pretty soon. Solid tire for the price, but I will maybe invest in a tire that lasts a little longer.

These replaced a set of Pirelli Supercorsa V2's, hoping to get better life because I ride my sportbike on the street a lot more than I do on the track (essentially it is what I prefer to get around on for many reasons (traffic, parking, etc.) in the big city.I am riding an 2016 Aprilia RSV4 RF V4 with a good bit of power and torque obviously. The bike came stock with Pirelli Supercorsa V2's. I NEVER DREAMED of the Pirelli's giving me that on this bike.However, this is not a Pirelli review, but interestingly enough Metzeler is owned by Pirelli and produces their tyres in the same factory in Germany. These M7RR's were supposed to be the Metzeler go at the Rosso III I think - advertising a harder center compound on the rear to give better (longer) commuting life, while the 2, outer 40% sections of the rear were supposed to give outstanding grip - and they especially touted the tyre for its street prowess (I guess vs. Pirelli's track focus).Well I have now 2,500 miles on these tyres, and they are approaching the wear bars to the point where I start to research for a new tyre, unless I was completely thrilled with my last set. I figure to get another 300 miles if I am careful, but I am extremely disappointed. Reviews seem to tout these tyres, but my experience is just awful to the point I would not fit another Metzeler no matter the cost saving - because considering the numbers I just wrote down, there IS NO COST SAVINGS! If I am replacing a set of $400 tyres (I got a good deal installed, with road hazard) in half the time I'd replace a superior handling tyre for $100-150 more (depending on sales and rebates),,, well you do the math.I wouldn't say the tyre inspired confidence, but I knew it wasn't what the bike came shod with, so I have been hesitant to do anything extreme as far as speed in a lean. I did break loose a couple times, but I have been setting the Aprilia TRC higher than I would with the Supercorsa's.I hope this helps anyone who has been listening to review after review - I am obsessive about product research as well when it comes to something as important to your safety as a tyre - that has said what a wonderful tyre this is. Again I don't think it is horrible, it may be cheaper AT THE MOMENT, but I would only reassure those I dislike that every review they watch on the internet is true, and these are the cat's pajamas, as they say.

I ride an old (2004) Yamaha FZS1000, usually run Mitchelin Pilot Road 4's, excellent in the wet, pretty good for just about everything on the road. However, I go on track and here it becomes clear - Pilots are for the road - not the track. So I got the M7's and took them on track. These tyres really are absolutely superb for the money. and easily did the job on track. Huge difference compared to Pilots. I've also had Bridgestone battleax and Metzler Roadtech Z6. All pretty good - but the M7's literally leave them standing on track. Tread: The tread does not go to the edge of the tyre (unlike the Z6) etc. This means you got 15mm of slick on the very edge - and that makes a difference. These tyres are meant to be good in the wet to - being full of silica - however, I've not really tried them in wet so cannot comment. Carcus: The walls are bigger and steeper than most road tyres - and these are primarily road tyres that you can take on track. The stteper walls means a higher and sharper radius on top - this all means that the bike tips in easily - and once tipped in - you have a bigger contact patch - which all means smooteher and stickier cornering. Apparently the carcus uses new technology - to make the walls more rigid and less squirly. All I can say is, they def were not squirly but felt solid, firm, confidence inspiring. Weakness: These are road tyres that you can take on track. Once on track they really are very good. Being a street bike, on track I am at a disadvantage to most others who are on race bikes. However, I managed to keep up with most by thrashing it on straights (I struggled here due to lack of power) but being quicker round corners. I was not the quickest - but limits were due to scraping pegs too much and not really being able to hang off any more to keep the bike upright. That is to say - I never felt I was at the limit of the tyres. But it will be a different story on an all out racebike that corners with more g's at greater lean angle and powers out of corners with more g's. A racebike will easily be able to take these tyres to, and beyond their limit. So for a fast racerbike rider, Pirelli's Diablo Rosso Corsa or the Metzler Racetecs would be better. However, you have to opay the big bucks for them - and they will wear out a lot more quickly and will not be as good on the road. Strengths: On the road in the dry these tyres are as good as any - I don't know about in the wet. On track they easily out-perform all the other tyres I have ridden by a long way. They will be sufficient for any street bike on track - and for the moneyI think they are unbeatable. Verdict: Taken for what they are, an economical road tyre you can take on track - these are unbeatable!

This tire is phenomenal, got 8000+ miles out of a set. Never once lost traction with it on the street. Basically don't require warm up but performed well even ripping the twisties when ambient temperatures where 110°+ (pavement temps significantly higher). Replaced with a set of Diablo Rosso 3s since I blew the rear out hitting a big piece of metal in the road and that's all the shop had in my size. These grip better on the street than even those. Don't like the aesthetics of the tread design but don't care these are phenomenal, bonus points for making them in a 120/60zr17.

Alright I'm going to split this review into two parts. What I liked about this set and what I hope to find on the new M9RRs. This set is on my 2018 Aprilia Tuono with a 190/55 rear.Starting off with the fact that this tire is very affordable, budget friendly, good all rounder. I was a excited to give these tires a shot with all the postive reviews and my feedback is a solid 85% good. The tires are really easy to warm up and turns in very similar to the Pirelli Diablo 3s I moved from prior to this set. I ride fairly aggressive depending on temperature and location. Took a few road trips to the Northwest Arkansas area and it works well in just cruising highway riding as well as cornering. It isn't the most aggressive tire to put through it's paces but it'll do the job well. So far I'm running at 2100 miles and can tell I have about another couple hundred before hitting the wear bar. So not bad considering the power the Tuono pushes out.Now I do have some gripes on this tire and some of which I can't fully confirm because I'm by no means a professional reviewer. I really hope that the new M9RRs they are launching will correct some of this even if by a little. For one I've noticed a steady increase of lost traction at hard acceleration. Now some of this is understandable but I believe it much worse than the Diablo 3s I previously had on. Something else that's been bugging me is that I'm not as confident with the front at large lean. I can easily get to the point of about 45 before the front feels like its skipping. The feel just isn't what I hoped it to be.Overall a solid tire and if you are in the market for a affordable tire that can be pushed around this is a good start. I wouldn't recommend these over the Diablo 3s for cornering but that's just personal opinion. If it's going through a cold and/or damp climate and you know you'll ride about 3k before any better weather this is a good tire. I'm impressed and slightly disappointed but some of that disappointment could come from my riding style. Either way if you're thinking about it might as well just go for it. Stay safe everyone!

Tire needs warm up. Then good grip. Corner to corner is nimble , slight bit twichy when backing it in on a heavy bike. Dial traction is easy feel. Over all a good tire set. Wear is quick Mtn riding aggressive, 2up on parkway days very confident. Only con is rear wears quick 3,000 mi and its done. No punctures on rocky pavement. Will buy another rear to finish out the front. Fromt end always felt sharp and easy. Points where i want it with perfect feedback according to my riding style in all situations. OA , a track like grip, soft comp duration. And moderately predictable feel . At the price point id probably go Perelli diablo3s next
