After using for almost 6 months, i can tell this is definitely worth it. At first time listening, the sound quality was good but was not mind blowing. some reviews may tell this is a bass canon. tbh it was little disappointing. but after getting acustomed to the sound signature, it was just perfect.definitely must try autoeq's Meze 99 Neo (99 Classics earpads) equalizer profile, it just made the headphones even better.

Fun & Enjoyable tuning, ideal for long term casual listening. It does not have the most detailed sound but that is a positive when it comes to casual use.The headband and ear cups are generously padded with high-quality materials that provide a snug fit without causing any discomfort. I can easily wear them for hours on end without experiencing any fatigue or pressure on my ears.Design exuding elegance.

I'm basing my review on comparing headphones in similar price range such as ATH M50x, Hifiman HE400 -- both of which I've used.+ Build quality is on par with headphones that are twice as expensive -- screams premium+ Very, very comfortable. Lightweight. Not at all fatiguing+ Easy to drive -- while you will notice a little benefit a little from a DAC/Amp combo, it's not necessary to have one. I use the iBasso DC05 with this+ For me, it sounds better than many headphones at comparable price range, including ATH M50x -- I personally never thought the M50x lived up to the hype (uncomfortable ear pads, flat sound -- there are much better sounding neutral monitors). The lower end of Meze is slightly emphasised for a V curve sound signature, but it's not ... I followed a audiophile group for almost an year, and the members suggested this headphone as per my requirements and budget.It's having Clean punchy bass,Sub bass and warm vocals.This punchy bass is completely realistic and superb. Every penny I invested is worth.Have very large ear cups and headband is provided with a good cushioned material like that it won't hurt our skull.The comfort level is great. And almost all the parts can be replaceable.
Thanks to Ian from headphone zone who suggested me these according to my preference in different genres of music and usage convenience.After burning these cans for the suggested 40hrs, I have started loving it. The sound clarity and separation is too good. As I am new to this hobby, i am really enjoying the music that I'm listening thru the Neo.All in all its a fun sounding headphone for all genres of music, atleast for a begginer like me.

It only lacks some more clarity, presense in trebles and mids should be bit more forward.Compared to M50x, its bit better in soundstage and imaging department but lacks in clarity.Compared to Hd560s, its more isolating and comfortable and durable but lacks in every other department in term of sound quality.Compared to sundara: 99 neo doesn't even come close to sundara in any department except durability but it cost way less than sundara.Overall I prefer M50x on sound quality ober these but I enjoy meze 99 neo for longer hearing session.If only neo was costing bit less in 11k or 10k it would have good value as now its way overpriced.Anyways I am going to keep it as it looks good and is only close back I would take with me to travel and I can make it sound bit better with EQ using wavelet Android app easily.
Buy these if you want superb build quality along with a comfortable fit and an overall balanced sound signature. If you are looking for something with a punchy bass these are not for you. But using a software based equilizwr or sound booster can help a bit to give your sound a bit more punch. The mids and highs are really nice out of the box. Very comfortable even over long hours of listening. The isolation is not great but does the job enough to enjoy the listening session. I am using an Astell and Kern XB -10 DAC along with it but it doesn't seem to make a lot of a difference to the sound. Bass gets a tiny boost that's all about it. But overall as a pair of headphones these are bang for your buck of you are looking for a balanced sound.

They sound really sweet and well balanced. Of course, comparing the open backs with these closed backs wouldn't really be fair. However, from a plain experience perspective, these headphones simply kill it!! The soundstage is amazing, especially if you also purchase the Meze 99 silver cable, it really opens it up! The bass is a bit accentuated, although not overpowering and the mids and highs are also well represented for any category of music.
