The Meze 109 Pro headphones look stunning and are beautifully constructed. Each set is assembled by hand in Meze's Romanian headquarters, using only premium parts and fine materials. The open back design features a unique, spider-shaped structure that helps to create a natural, immersive soundstage. The open-back design allows sound to flow naturally, delivering a wide soundstage and a heightened sense of realism. This design also enhances efficiency, making it easy to drive the 109 Pro using portable devices. Additionally, the drivers are precisely angled for optimal anatomical fit, ensuring maximum detail in every note. Featuring dual-composite diaphragms, the Meze Audio 109 Pro headphones strike the perfect balance between lightweight construction and rigidity. This results in precise, responsive sound with excellent timing, while also offering superb damping for refined audio quality. Thanks to its self-adjusting headband, the weight of the headphones is evenly distributed, offering long-lasting comfort. The velour ear cushions provide a soft, breathable surface that further enhances wearability, even during extended listening sessions.

Let me first say that I currently own and listen to 30 headphones from nearly every major brand out there and have owned and/or heard twice as many in the last year. My current collection ranges in price from $50 to $4,000 with most averaging right in the middle of that. And I am only stating that to establish my listening experience. Next, let me say there really is no perfect headphone, at least none that I have found on my quest. There is perfection for specific genres of music or perfection for your desired sound signature. But there just is Not one to rule them all. However, that being said, this headphone is extremely well balanced in all of the HiFi categories. It is light weight and extremely comfortable too. I can wear this headphone pretty much all day ... MoreLet me first say that I currently own and listen to 30 headphones from nearly every major brand out there and have owned and/or heard twice as many in the last year. But there just is Not one to rule them all. However, that being said, this headphone is extremely well balanced in all of the HiFi categories. It is light weight and extremely comfortable too. I can wear this headphone pretty much all day without even thinking about it. There are very few headphones with this level of comfort out there. This is my second Meze headphone, and I was a bit worried about the purchase because I was a little bit burned by the Meze 99 Classics. I feel IMHO, the 99 Classics have always been overrated on the sound quality. The bass is very muddy and bloated on them. The problem is that only people with multiple headphones listening experience recognize this, and people that have only one or two headphones may think the 99 Classics are the cat's pajamas. So, I was pleasantly surprised with the 109 Pro to discover they have tamed that bass and oh so much more! Bass is well controlled and only slightly elevated now. The midrange has tonal accuracy and push the vocals slightly forward. The treble is bright enough to satisfy without being harsh or fatiguing. They have enough detail to give you all the information you need without being analytical. These are what you call Musical. I listened to a wide range of genres on these looking for a style it couldn't do well with. But I came up empty handed. The 109 Pro made every music style I threw at it a complete delight to listen to. This is the kind of headphone you will have long listening sessions with, just enjoying the music, completely immersed in the musical qualities and forgetting the headphone is even there. So, is it the best out there at any one thing, like bass or imaging or sound stage? No, but it is incredible at a little bit of everything (and let's not forget comfortable), which is why it has now become my daily driver out of 29 other headphones I could choose from to fill that role. This is a headphone you must have in your collection. And if you are not a collector and you are buying possibly the only one headphone you will ever have and use, and this is in your price range, then without hesitation this is the one to get!

Build quality and unboxing experience is amazing on these. Sound is similar to Focal I have in my collection (Clear, Elegia) but much more soundstage on these. Bass for an open back is great. Assuming you are in the market for a forward treble and fun listen, what are you waiting for? Treat yourself. As always, HeadAmp service second to none. Shipped fast, arrived in perfect shape. Well done.

Amazing sound and they are the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn on top of the sounding amazing part. Top notch build quality as well. I wish I could have kept them, but ended up returning due to non related personal issues that came up. Great small company that is willing to go the extra mile to research a communication issue that was 100% my fault. I hope that once I take care of my issues I will be able to find something on headamp at that time.

Bass, mids, treble all present, very balanced and full range. I don't notice any treble harshness at all, (to my mature ears). I listen to hard rock, classical, blue grass, choral, small wind and acoustic ensembles and lots of jazz. I'm not wanting anything else. Quite the jump from my Senn 660s. They work well with a laptop, Dragonfly Black dongle, and Bifrost 2 + Jot 2. Very glad to have them.
I can only describe them with my own setup (Primarily an Gustard R26 DAC and a Pathos Inpol Ear amp). I haven't had them for too long, so they may still be burning in (if applicable). The main sonic characteristics I think of are: "precise" and "spacious." With a great DAC and amp they give a great ability to place sounds in 3D space. The unique driver has a very cool character all it's own. They are beautiful, comfortable, distinctive sounding. In terms of things that could be improved, I think they can sometimes sound a bit sibilant on my setup, but that may be due to my setup, or maybe they need more burn-in.I think they perform above their price. If someone had told me they were $2000 cans, I wouldn't be surprised.Instead of being competitive with the Focal Clear OG, I'd say they are a very good compliment because they sound very different. The Clear are more "up front" and energetic, whereas the 109 Pro are more spacious. The 109 Pro are more comfortable and handsome. I think they are similar in level of quality, but different.I have several headphones, and the 109 pro doesn't really remind me of any of them, so it's a great add for "something different" as well as a great performer as a sole headphone.
Ever since the Meze 109 Pro was launched in India i was super excited to get them. I was earlier waiting to get them after the HPZ Connect in my City, but ended up getting it about a week before the connect. I am super impressed, everything about the headphone is amazing right from the stunning design to its outstanding resolution and clear sound. The 109 Pro are super comfortable to wear and they create the perfectly immersive experience one mihg texperct from an headphone of this price bracket.
Most of us who have been in this hobby, for a minute or two snicker at people calling anything endgame, or if we do stumble upon the unicorn who actually means it, and does it, we find ourselves jealous of their contentment. However, there are those times you find a headphone. It takes you much further down the road and most. For me, this is that headphone that when I take all the quadrants of comfort and musicality and technicality and synergy with my equipment, it just fits so well. I haven’t heard anything under $1500 in an open back that is more over all satisfying on all those fronts together. there are some that might excel in one over another, but not overall. Admittedly I'm relatively new to the world of premium audio equipment. Meze originally caught my attention this summer with their 99 Classics - I bought them on the allure of their build quality and materials, and on the word of others who said that they were an eye opener among a sea of bassy headphones that otherwise don't have any other tricks. Long story short, I fell in love with the sound signature of the 99s. So when the 109s debuted, I figured they were a natural progression - and something to be used more at home rather than while traveling or outside, as the 99s appeal to me more for.I don't know quite how to describe the 109s in a way that will properly do them justice; they definitely still have the low-end punch of the 99s, albeit slightly more ... MoreAdmittedly I'm relatively new to the world of premium audio equipment. But they bring to the table a much more open, detailed sound stage. They really do present themselves more as speakers in the room rather than headphones flanking your ears. And when combined with my iFi amp and its XSpace and XBass enhancements, these take flight that much further. And they're incredibly easy to drive. But sound is subjective. What isn't subjective is the impression these make visually - absolutely stunning. Delicate in appearance but obviously durable when in-hand. They make me smile as much when I look at them on my shelf as they do while I'm listening to them.I deserved these. Yes.
Not Sound: The build quality of the headphones is excellent. It feels and looks worth every penny that you've paid for. My head is fairly large but the headphones sit comfortably on my head. The clamp force is not much. I have no issue using them for long listening session.Sound: The sound profile is quite well balanced. The bass is noticeably boosted but it's done tastefully. It gives the headphones a little warmer sound and a little more body in the low-end. I would not call this a bass head headphones though. The upper mids/lower treble is fairly forward. It could be bright for some people. I personally don't find this to be a deal breaker. It's nothing that EQ or a tone control can't "fix". Soundstage is good. Not too wide, not too narrow, and also has ... MoreNot Sound: The build quality of the headphones is excellent. It feels and looks worth every penny that you've paid for. Not too wide, not too narrow, and also has reasonable depth to it. Imaging is coherent. Many people compare these to the HD600 series headphones. I would see the 109 as an upgrade to the HD600 series. After all, these cost nearly twice as much. Whether you think these are worth twice as much, that'd be subjective which no one else can answer for you. For me, these are one of the most enjoyable headphones I've bought. I think these set a bench mark of what a pair of $600-1k headphones should achieve.
I could't be more pleased with these headphones. They are gorgeous, they are comfortable, and they sound great. Meze has done a beautiful job with these -- both in the packaging and in the finished product. My only other open back dynamic headphone is a Sennheiser HD 800S (anniversary edition). It is about twice the price of the Meze. Yes it has a wider soundstage than the Meze but the latter competes favorably in all other important respects. I personally think the Meze is a more attractive headphone that is at least as comfortable as the 800S -- and that is no faint praise.
