Excellent off road traction

These are the real deal! They have everything needed for a some offroad riding on a heavy bike, I used these for about 700 miles of offroad on the COBDR and they were a
great choice. The track very well and keep forward momentum going. There are some cons but nothing you wouldnt expect for a tire like these. 1: They are loud on the road.
I drove 700 miles to and from Colorado for this trip and they do get loud on the highway but earplugs work fine to take the level down. 2: They do wear pretty quickly. I am
now about 45-50% through the rear tire and have about 2000 miles on it but that is what I expected. They are also a little spendy but hell, they all are these days... Show more

after 2000 miles. Only about 100 off road, in the tires defense, they were a very rough 100 off road. Probably get another 1000 out of the back tire, just couldn't handle the
punishment. Road miles were fully loaded combo of commuting, transiting between campsites, and mountain twisties. Never felt uncomfortable. Tires saved me on some

The rear supplied as much acceleration traction as I could hope for trying to get 150hp to the dirt lol. But in more technical applications the rear was predictable and compliant. My only complaint is tire life. Granted, asking a knobby like tire to hold up against a 550 lb bike with 90+ lbft of torque, might just be a tad unrealistic, but the center knobs and inner side knobs of the rear tire were completely rounded off and down to the wear bars after 1200 miles. The front faired much better. If I had to do it again I would, knowing that the traction off road was worth the price of fast tread wear. If you’re heading out to do a BDR or an off road oriented multi day trip, these are awesome. Just expect to need a new rear when you get home lol.... Show more

Great tire - on and casual/not too intense offroad.
13 June 2024
I have a set of front and rear Anakee Wild tires on both my Kawasaki Versys 300, as well as my KLR650.I ride about 80% local roads, and go some weekends to local riding trails and do some loops - those trails are all east coast (US) "in the woods" including creek crossings, easy climbs with mixed rock/sand/clay, etc. I'm a slow offroad rider who doesn't take risks and rides the easy stuff (like I'm not jumping anything) - on both bikes, these tires have been great, with over 3000 miles on the versys set, and a couple hundred on the KLR - both have seen on road, offroad, and rain riding. They are great tires, and while they aren't "dirt bike tire" level offroad, they've dug me out of plenty of muddy/sand creek crossings, have held their own on offroad climbs (not ... MoreI have a set of front and rear Anakee Wild tires on both my Kawasaki Versys 300, as well as my KLR650.I ride about 80% local roads, and go some weekends to local riding trails and do some loops - those trails are all east coast (US) "in the woods" including creek crossings, easy climbs with mixed rock/sand/clay, etc. I'm a slow offroad rider who doesn't take risks and rides the easy stuff (like I'm not jumping anything) - on both bikes, these tires have been great, with over 3000 miles on the versys set, and a couple hundred on the KLR - both have seen on road, offroad, and rain riding. If someone wants to better understand the nature of 'offroad' when I mention that - we are largely riding the Hatfield/Mccoy trail system in WV - to give you an idea of what we take these tires on successfully.... Great Tire On and Off Road
5 June 2023
The Awake Wild performs incredibly well off road which I expected, but I was surprised how well they handle the asphalt. Not the place you want to use the rubber, but I rode mountain passes in early April with water across the road (I was nervous about ice), twisty sections of road, rain and the Anakee Wild's felt secure in all conditions. I'm on a BMW R1250GSA so lots of weight for the tires to handle. On this set I rode the Colorado BDR, Utah BDR, White Rim and a week in the San Rafael Swell. I will replace the rear tire mid July and I'll keep the front on a bit longer. From my experience I would gladly recommend the Anakee Wild to a friend. Don't expect them to last very long but mine have lasted long enough.... Show more

Great Traction for Heavy Adventure Bikes
23 September 2024
Great off road tires for heavy adventure bike. I put these on my Pan America and traveled 2000 miles about 40% off road. The performance was excellent with the heavy bike in mud, gravel, dirt, water, sand, and pavement in both wet and dry. It rained a couple days and I had no traction issues on the pavement. They will get loud above 55 MPH on the highway after they wear a bit.I expect another 500-1000 miles on the tires before they run out.... One ticket to wobble city coming right up
9 June 2024
TLDR: Off-road it's just ok 3/5 stars. On road it's unpredictable behavior and tendency to wobble at speeds >70 make it unusable in my opinion 1/5 stars. Average 2/5 stars; your mileage/experience may vary but I cannot recommend the Anakee Wild.I first rode the Anakee Wild on a borrowed Norden 901 and it was fine. Not exceptional, nor terrible. It had decent dirt grip with an acceptable ride to over 100mph on pavement. So I bought one for my KTM 890 Adventure Rally and it did not go well. The only difference between the two bikes is the suspension; I have +30mm or so. On the KTM the tire is fine in dirt, again nothing worth noting. It doesn't washout but it doesn't excel either. On pavement it is surprisingly poor. In turns of 30-40 you will notice you are not ... MoreTLDR: Off-road it's just ok 3/5 stars. On pavement it is surprisingly poor. In turns of 30-40 you will notice you are not counter steering. This tire requires you to manually turn the bars in the direction of the turn. That's very off putting. At freeway speeds, any small nick in the pavement, ruts, wash off a semi, side wind, or rapid acceleration upsets the tire and sends it into a wobble. Forget passing a semi at 85, it's terrifying. I thought the Motoz Rallz front tire was wobbly at high speed but this is worse. Everything on my bike checks out, rear wheel is aligned, forks are straight, wheels balanced, front wheel bearings good, steering damper working correctly, no pillion, no load. The Mitas EO7 I replaced with the Anakee was stable well into triple digits under all conditions. I broke in the Anakee with about 100 miles of dirt and 150 of pavement and it still wobbled like mad at speed.Given the price of this tire I would expect better. It pains me to throw away money but I'm taking it off and giving it away after only 250 miles. Your mileage/experience may vary but I cannot recommend the Anakee Wild.... Show more

Only for smaller cc ADV bikes
15 July 2023
I bought a set of these tires for a BMW GS1200. They were squirmy on the pavement compared to other 50/50 tires I've used. I took them off after a few weeks after I had enough. The sidewalls and carcass just felt too thin for a heavy ADV. Called Michelin to complain. They looked up my bike bike and said "NOT RECOMMENDED FOR BMW R1200 GS". I wish I would have called them first. I do believe they would be a great tire on a smaller cc bike or use off road only. They did great off road, but so do many other tires that work ok on the pavement. These are dangerous on the pavement when coupled to a larger bike.... Show more

Performed well - satisfied customer
27 March 2023
Anakee Wild met expectations as a premium tire. Expensive, but performed well. Fitted a pair to a Moto Guzzi V85TT for a 2,600 km ride from Phoenix to Mexicos Copper Canyon. Route was 95% asphalt, but the coarse tread of the Wild was necessary for the difficult leg from Choix to Batopilas. Provided good traction in sand & rock. Traction & wear on asphalt was surprisingly good for such an off-road oriented tire. Lots of life left in the tires following this trip. No wet weather encountered, so wet evaluation not available.... Show more
