Absolutely AMAZING tires! I ride a 2015 Harley Ultra Limited Low and I just came off of the Commander IIs after 15k miles. I decided to upgrade to the Commander IIIs because the Commander IIs were getting harder to find. I spent a lot of time reading every article I could find about the IIs and did the same thing to research the IIIs. I purchased a 2008 Ultra Classic Electra Glide in 2018. It only had 1900 miles on it and still had the original tires, Dunlop D402F. I put 4000 miles on the bike since owning it and the rear tire started to come apart, it was 12 years old.I did a lot of research on what tires I wanted to put on and decided the Commander III tire was for me. I am not happy with the buzzing feeling I now have when riding my bike. want to recommend this tire, but honestly have not put enough miles on it, the form made me pick yes or no and as of this review I would have to say no, sorry., so I thought I would share my initial experiences. Please note that I keep my tires at manufacturer recommended psi, and I have Legend Revo A shocks on rear, which I'm happy with, the preload / SAG of shocks are set to the manufacturer's recommendation. I will NEVER use Michelin products on any of my vehicles ever again. In my honest and truthful opinion of the aforementioned.....BUYER BEWARE

have a set on a 128 cubic inch (stage 4) FLSB replaced my 888s ultras. I am very happy with the traction they offer on all conditions as well as the wear of the tire. I am about 12000km in and I am ordering a new rear.I used a shop to install those as I do not change tires my street bikes myselfFor the people that that complain losing traction, they all mention cruise control. never use cruise control on wet asphalt.
I have been getting a vibration since I had the tires installed but was not worried about it at first. I has now gotten significantly worse. I have replaced the neck bearings, the breaks, rotors, wheel bearings and even changed out the windshield trying to chase this vibration. Then like magic, right before I decided to buy new rotors fearing the one I have are warped; I found other customers describing the same vibration I was experiencing. This morning proceeded to 8 Ball Tire in Kearney Mesa (GREAT SHOP BTW) and they verified that the tires were balanced and the wheel was fine. I still had to ride home on the old vibration cursed tire because 8Ball said Michelin had to approve the warranty claim. I ran Commander 2’s on my 2014 CTX1300, far superior to other tires I have tried. Grip so well by in dry they inspire confidence. Moved on to a Commander 3 in the rear 200/55-17 size, it felt different and I reduced pressure 4-5 pounds the 3’s seem to have a stiffer sidewall. After break in and reducing pressure from 44-40 it seems just like the Commander 2 tire. (Still have a Commander 2 on front) Mileage depends on how you ride.. I had the rear in the cords on the sides at 6400 miles. The center still had some life left. Michelin hypes these as rain tires.. To be frank, like any other tire, they slip and slide like other tires with similar tread patterns. They don’t have enough siping to provide anything more than average traction at best. I bought these for my 2016 street glide. They feel more motorcycle tire as the dulops seem to be more car tire. These seem more of a round edge feel as the Dunlops had a more square feel. With that being said these are definitely a better track tire and I don't feel as stabile. I feel loose but not slippery loose just not as square stable. I love the tires though I feel the benefits are lost on the touring type bike. But I have less than 100 miles on them so this is just first impressions.
The tires look nice but I got sold the wrong ones I believe because they constantly need to get air pumped and the bike is already heavy as it is having a flat tire feeling constantly makes a hard time pushing the motorcycle. I was overwhelmed by just looking for new tires so I just took what was offered to not look like I didn’t know about motorcycles. I later found out there is only two brands that are accepted by Yamaha for this motorcycle and if you think about it this exhaust pipe get very hot don’t want tubes tires near high heat hence why in the owners manual it’s recommended tubeless tires.
I replaced my Michelin Commander II with the newer design Commander III tire. I tell you what!I didn't think there would be a longer lasting tire than the Commander II tire. I WAS WRONG! The Commander III tire has already past the milage I got from the Commander II. It'll be time to replace it not too long into the future but I believe I probably have about 5000 miles left. I ride EXTREMELY hard. KUDOS to Michelin for developing such an awesome tire. I'm in Arizona and the streets in Tucson have potholes all over the place. Typically rough on tires and wheels. I already know what my next tire is going to be! Michelin Commander III.
