MicroMacro Crime City
Welcome to Crime City, a city where crime lurks around every corner. Disastrous secrets, devious robberies and cold-blooded murders are the order of the day here. The local police are no longer able to control the situation. Therefore, the work of clever investigators is required. MicroMacro - Crime City is a cooperative detective game. Together, the players solve 16 tricky criminal cases by determining motives, finding evidence and convicting the perpetrators. An attentive eye is just as important as a deductive talent in order to unravel everything riddle on the 75 x 110 cm large game board. A magnifying glass is included in the game to help with finding every detail. One player takes on the role of Lead Investigator and is responsible for reading the case cards out loud (but of course they will also help with solving the case). The players choose together which case they want to play and the Lead Investigator reads out the corresponding start card as well as the first task. Together, the players explore the map of Crime City in order to answer all the questions on the case cards, one after another. The game ends as soon as the last case card has been answered correctly.

It is such a unique and wonderful game! If you're looking for something replayable or complex, this probably isn't the game for you. But it is a perfect game to bring out for younger audiences or for people who are not experienced gamers; my mother refuses to play pretty much everything, and she LOVED this game! While I personally won't come back to it often, I am very glad to have it in my collection.

This game is a blast. My 6 year old loves it as well. The concept that the map represents location and time in the same picture is really cool. There are a good number of crimes to solve but not something that you could really replay once you are done. I would think this one would be great to play and then give it to a friend, like the undo games.

This is a game that has you trying to solve a mystery. The catch is you are searching for clues on the cartoon black and white map. It is a bit difficult to get your bearing at first, but once you are through your first game you will get accustomed to the map and have a feel for how to search it. Definitely get this if you like to solve mysteries.

Torn on this one. Love the concept. But we'll go through it very quickly and there won't be any replay value. I think I'd prefer it to be cheaper. They could sell the map only and then have an app with the missions. The box could come with a code that would unlock the base missions, and then you could download more later. Again, I'm torn. This is the kind of thing where you split the cost with another family and share it when you're done.
Great game! Basically Where's Waldo, but with mysteries about crime and murder. Insanely easy to play. The map of the city is great. Filled with crazy amounts of detail and a cute cartoony art style. I really enjoy tracking someone's getaway car and remarking on all the dead bodies of cute cartoon characters I pass along the way. I hope they keep coming out with expansion sets.
MicroMacro Crime City: what a delightful little game! It makes me wonder why I didn't think about it before..A very fresh concept, simple and engaging: it is an immersive experience of intuition and observation, being a detective around the streets of a city that really comes to life!A shout out to the artist, who here and there messes with the players, putting the investigation off the rail with some false suspects (that end up doing nothing but living their life), and that makes the game even more fun. I subscribed to their website for more cases and, of course wait for more expansions. Recommended * * * * * (five stars)
This game is amazing. One slight negative meant for kids and adults ten and up. Have you ever wanted chronicles of crime to mix with wheres waldo. Well here we are. So good. When we first played this game we could not stop. We went through 3 cases and were drooling for more. Buy this and the expansion. Highly recommend.
The only downside to this game is you can only play it once. It's super easy to learn and teach, and you are straightaway drawn into it's little micro world. Finding clues is as easy looking, but there's a challenge to it that's rewarding. My friend and I spent about five hours, blasting through the cases pretending to be out of sorts Detective's.One last thing, this has probably been mentioned but some of the cases are a bit explicit in content that would make me hesitate to give to younger children.
My family and I have had a ton of fun playing this game! There are a good number of cases to solve in the box and range with a good selection of difficulty levels. We added in a bonus activity of coloring in the picture as we go for the sections related to the case we were on.My one point of warning for recommending this game is that the subject matter and some of the images are questionable for young children. I think some printings are going to be identifying cases that have more family friendly motives or identify the more problematic ones. Maybe it opens the door to have appropriate conversations.
A huge Where's Waldo that was delightful for my family. A couple of pro-tips: it worked better with smaller player counts (my kids were throwing elbows and casting shadows over the huge map) and the game "board" (aka, a paper map) seems fragile. But the "age-appropriate" ratings were spot on for the different cases. And we all enjoyed figuring out whodunnit. My 7-year-old loves it and keeps requesting to play it. We've played 4 or 5 of the cases, and I'm looking forward to the rest of them. And this one was just as enjoyable for my twin 5-year-olds as it is for me, and that doesn't always happen with board games. Two thumbs up!
