I used to purchase cinnamon in a single-use grinder (I believe the maker was Spice Island). I cannot find that any more and chose this instead. However, full sized cinnamon sticks are too tall to fit inside and must be broken down. Once the sticks have been broken down, the top still only sits loosely on the base, making it bothersome to store. I also find that I need to grind quite a bit to get enough cinnamon to taste.Overall, it gets the job done, but I am not particularly impressed with it.

Great service, especially in current conditions. Great coffee maker as well; makes hot coffee then keeps it hot. Pours well.
bought to grind long pepper spice which is a catkin size seed, grinds it perfectly But the design as a major draw back you have to load it every time as there is no secure attachment between the top and bottom halves so moving it around liable to fall apart and spill the contents

I use it for nutmeg (noix de muscade, Muskatnuss) and it works very nicely, you can dose the pressure on the nuts precisely and the grinder is always effective.A previously used english grinder literally fell apart after a couple of years (the transparent plexiglas parts separated), while never having been very effective or easy to clean.Interestingly, we now own three Microplane grinders, for Selim pepper and other difficult spices.
I have only tried this with nutmeg so far, it produces an ultra fine grating. No grated fingers! Best gadget I have found for nutmeg, highly recommended.
