Microplane Elite Coarse Grater Black

I bought this grater because it has a catcher that even has measurements on it. I owned a cheaper one but wanted the sharpness of the Microplane. BUT the cover warped the first time I washed it. If kitchen items are not dishwasher safe, then I do not want them. I will be returning the grater to the store.

Much better design and construction than my previous grater. Works every bit as well as the old one

Though the coarse grind is more fine than I expected, I am thrilled with how sharp this grater is! I bought it for ginger specifically and love how well it grates. The only complaint I have (and it’s minor, so I’m still rating this a 5 star) is that the plastic cover only clicks into place when used to catch grated items. When I use it to cover the front it doesn’t stay.

Better than the original!

As the title says - better than the original. A much bigger surface area making it easier to grate. This is the 4th Microplane I’ve purchased but only the first in this style. I won’t go back.

Favourite thing is that it slices into micro pieces rather than just mashing into a pile of juice and mush. I recommend this product

This is a very good grater, easy to use. I think the catcher /flip cover is a bit of a gimmick. Otherwise excellent.

Can't go wrong with a microplane grater! Nice mid-sized zest, not too coarse, not too fine.

Microplane Elite Series Coarse Grater Black

This coarse grater makes hard parmesan cheese into a soft fluffy consistency ready to add to spaghetti or risotto dishes. I cannot see why one would need a finer rated grating blade. The blade is a little on the thin side; but is very easy to clean under hot running water and then wipe dry. There is very little mess with gratings falling well from the blade and the end of the grater does not mark the plate collecting the gratings which was my main complaint with other graters.

sturdy model

This is a great improvement on my last microplane because it is made out of a single piece of metal with a plastic surround, as opposed to my last one which had an all plastic handle with metal grating plate. It should last for ages
