899 for a useless device

I purchased this 2 years ago and I hardly used it. I started to use it as my main work laptop and the screen died after a few weeks. All I did was wipe it with a clorox wipe after my sick toddler sneezed on it! Never buying another Microsoft laptop or device! Compare it to my old Lenovo laptop and that thing lasted me years and wiping it down was fine. I'm using that one again now.

There are quite a bit of wires to contend with but, in my opinion, these are the best speakers for a computer setup, and setup is easy. Connecting a cell phone or anything else is also easy. And nowadays, you can find a little device that plugs in to 3.5mm headphone jacks that has bluetooth on it, enabling you to turn almost anything into a bluetooth speaker. I just say that because it used to be a deal breaker for me if the speakers didn't have bluetooth. And they aren't very expensive. Surely if you can afford these, that shouldn't be a problem. Unless you're like me, and were only able to get these speakers thanks to financing through Klarna. Which, good move by you guys, in partnering with Klarna. I have tried 4 different Logitech mice on this and none work. They will only work intermittently, stopping after 20 minutes or so and then doing nothing. I do not know if it is because this was a refurbished unit and possibly that was the initial problem in the first place. At any rate it is ridiculous that a laptop cannot operate with a mouse. Very very very disappointed in this feature because I cannot use the built in mouse pad for my work. Total waste of money.

Excellent for what it is.

We needed a new general purpose computer for home and this fulfills that need, and then some. With light use (1-2 hours) the battery lasts for days. The screen saturation is weird/over saturated when on battery power, but after a quick search, it's a known issue that Microsoft hasn't been able to resolve. It's not a huge issue, just something I didn't know about before purchasing. Set up and updates only took a couple hours total over the first couple days, so no biggie there either! Overall, we love it, and when it becomes too outdated to use, we'll definitely look at buying another Surface device. Very satisfied with our purchase!

I really like Surface laptops. I have owned them since Surface Laptop 1. love how light and thin they are. When I Saw the 15 inch version I fell in love with the larger screen. I grabbed one with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB SSD. This is the AMD version.I am a computer engineer so I know exactly what I am talking about. I was very disappointed with the performance of this laptop. I ran a benchmark software and my older Surface Laptop 2 scored much higher than this AMD version. Also, I can never get Youtube to play 4k video without dropping frames. The Intel version doesn't have this issue. One big bummer and although this is advertised as 8 GB of RAM, it is essentially 6 GB . 2 GB are dedicated to the GPU. to me this is kinda misleading.Form factor, display quality, ... MoreI really like Surface laptops. My first Microsoft computer

I’ve always used Apple computers. This is my first Microsoft/windows laptop. I bought it because I needed something quick while in a budget. After seeing several YouTube reviews I was sold. Once I got it and began to use it (google suite, web browsing, Netflix, YouTube) for the basics, no issues. I felt that my transition was pretty simple. Being an Apple user, I felt the windows OS was pretty simple to get use to it.Concerns:I feel that battery life is an area of concern. Even with low screen brightness, Bluetooth off, battery setting on “better battery” options, I feel the battery drains pretty quick, even when doing normal web browsing. Also, even though it comes with a gaming graphics card, this laptop is really not intended for gaming. Maybe if you modify it, maybe but at it comes nope. I installed football manager, and after 15 mins of playing it became unplayable. Unit got extremely hot and began to slow down.If you plan on gaming with this, maybe go a different route.

One Phenomenal Notebook

I always thought the Surface units from Microsoft were overpriced and underperforming, but after buying a couple of USED Surface Pro 3 units from an auction site, my mind was changed and I am now a fan. I purchased this Surface Laptop 3 15" notebook as an 'open box' unit to save a few bucks. I came in a few days and was in great condition (even had the original box and packaging). It starts quickly, boots fast, and after a few Windows 10 setup steps, it is ready to enjoy. The keyboard is backlit and feels great, as does the over-sized touchpad. The screen is the best I have ever seen or used, bright & clear from ALL angles. The wifi and bluetooth connect quickly and stay connected, and it runs all of my software like a champ. Don't let the 8GB of ram fool you, this guys runs FAST and these new M.2 2230 small drives are very fast. The build quality is the best I have ever owned, and the battery is long-lasting, and charges up fast. The case is elegant and has a solid feel in your hands. The small SSD hard drive can be upgraded, but good luck finding a M.2 2230 drive sold commercially. Not yet, but when I can find one, I will probably buy it. But I can get all of my stuff on the 128GB just fine and room to spare.Overall, I am thrilled with my new computer and am happy to recommend it to anyone wanting a great machine at a fair price. BTY, the AMD processor and GPU work very well and are fast. I like the new Ryzen products.Get one and be happy for Thanksgiving & Chrismas.

So far, so good
20 January 2023

I am not a techie or any kind of computer genius. I asked my techie friend to help me find a computer within my financial parameters. He suggested this one and once it arrived he examined it, set it up for me and pronounced it an excellent deal. So I'm giving his review, not mine. I use it for personal stuff and it works fine. Lots of room on here and I'm happy with that. It is refurbished but it looks brand new...has that 'new car smell' to it. If I were to improve it I would say that these computers need to be in colors. This dull silver stuff is really boring, but I suppose they are a tool and not a work of art...more's the pity.

Technical issues

I bought this laptop for school and assumed it would be a really great computer, however, the day I got it and played around with it it turned off and on a few times. I looked over the problem and didn’t address it until it started happening again and again and again, almost a daily issue. When I was doing my school it turned off 4 times and I had to keep redoing my homework over and over again each time. I googled if this happens to anyone else and it surely does. They suggested adjusting the sleep settings and battery settings to a higher time and I thought it was finally working, but a few days after I did that it started turning off and on again. I would not recommend this for anyone who wants a quality computer. Upside is it’s a light laptop and attractive looking.

The portability is amazing & faster than expected

The surface go is amazing for what it is. I am a student who exchanged my Macbook 12 inch, and i picked up the surface go as the Macbook just didn't have the features I truly needed.First of all, the ultra portable form factor is awesome, and I also bought the keyboard cover and pen to go along with it and it works much better than I had expected it to work. My desktop is what I use for speed, power, and gaming so my expectations for this little thing weren't too high, but in high performance mode it runs very well. Using the windows ink features with the surface pen has so far made things easier for me in the classroom and I am taking digital notes for the first time in my life. It just feels like I have more options to do my work than the macbook ever allowed me to have. This device IS NOT for everybody. Do not buy it if you expect it to run any games or any other super heavy workloads. It is perfect for someone else like me, who wants something ultra portable and decently fast for the price, while still being a very high quality product.
