Exactly as advertised. It's a B-Grade refurbished piece of tech so it's obviously banged up along the back, and part of the keyboard cover was coming off but it wasn't anything a little glue couldn't fix. Otherwise, the cover is nice and covers up all the blemishes on the actual Surface Pro. Pen works just fine and everything works smoothly. For the price I paid, I think it's quite a steal.

Amazing value for money!

It simply did not turn on and $1,500 in 2014 turned into nothing in 2019. The computer was diagnosed and according to BestBuy the turn on switch connected to the motherboard got faulty. But the replacement parts were not available any more. I went to Microsoft and they offered me Surface Pro 4 at a discounted price, but at the same time I learned that the parts for Pro 4 were not available any more, so I if it died I would say good bye to $1,000. The new i5 processor is 2.76x faster then the old i5-4300u. Passmark 10 showed the the score of Pro 3 - 1223, jumped to 2087 in case of Pro 6. A year ago my wife bought a beautiful Huawei with i7, 16GB of RAM and 512SSD, all for $2,000, which was a great deal. Now I have for half the price Pro 6 (i5, 8GB RAM, 256SSD) that is almost as powerful as HUAWEI MateBook X Pro (Passmark 2087 vs 2183 for Huawei), and so far I am very happy with it. So you may have a question - why 4 starts instead of 5? The reason is simple. I don't see Surface as a very reliable computer. Now I am still good as I have 2 year warranty - one by manufacturer and one extra thanks to my credit card - but after two years if it dies one day, I know that fixing it will be very costly or impossible again. As a quick summary I will write: a lovely computer, but with a risk.

Average pc replacement

It is for everything i do. I'm not a gamer (that's what consoles are for, in my opinion), but i'll include some of the programs i use, that work better on this surface pro 6 than they did on my former pc (asus maximus v gene z77, i7-3770, 16gb ddr3, corsair 256 ssd, windows 10 ultimate) . Programs: macxhd video converter, convertxtodvd, adobe photoshop cs5, autocad 2019 and inventor 2019. The 12 inch screen will definite suffice when surfing the net and doing simple question, however i use a 24 inch monitor while working via the mini display port. I would recommend the surface pen for tablet use, and a mouse when using for longer work periods. The surface keyboard for the surface series is all i need, but if you prefer you could easily use any bluetooth keyboard. I leave the power cable connected when working and the battery exceeds my needs when using as portable, i haven't timed it's drain frequency so i can't comment on the batter use under load. The only thing i would complain about it the lack of usb c, but that really isn't an issue since i don't own any usb c devices.

It's more laptop than tablet, but terrific overall!

I really do like the slim factor, lightness, and quick startup, but it's not as tablet friendly as Android devices, that's for sure. I knew that going in, so it's no biggie, because I use it more as a laptop anyway. Maybe the stylus improves things, but I'd really be wasting my money if I bought one of those, because I'm not making a living at digital drawing. The keyboard, purchased separately, is quite nice, and I can keep up a decent WPM on it. Battery is excellent, but there's a reason the proprietary plug is a thing of the past...they've now switched to USB C, is my understanding. I like the headphone jack, and the USB Type A, because I'm old fashioned, and still use a thumb drive every now and again.

Lightweight, powerful, with great features and MS/Windows reliability!

I purchased a Surface RT a few years ago and have used it ever since. The reason I bought this is more memory, Windows 10 (which I have on my desktop computing system, weight, adaptability to both tablet and PC, as well as the pen for more creative work (with photos, etc.). The other thing I really like is Microsoft/Windows old standby programs and apps that never fail me: Windows Media Player, the Office suite of programs, and Microsoft security features. As a Mac user, some may wonder why I ever went down the Surface Pro path. The answer is simple, the Surface Pro offers the most capable and compact desktop experience bar none IMHO. When combined with Signature Type Cover, Pen and Microsoft Arc Mouse, this really is a take everywhere device. In fact the Surface Pro 6 has very quickly become my daily driver. It is my go to device. If you're looking for a compact, lightweight, desktop class mobile solution, the Surface Pro 6 is well worth a look. Great battery life, excellent display and a vast array of desktop class software that can be installed, makes the Surface Pro 6 a serious option for ANY computer user.

Solid tablet performance running Win11 Pro

Solid tablet performance running Win11 Pro. 8th gen Intel i5 does well, with an SSD drive. The biggest flaw with all of the surface line up is, they are throwaway units. To service one of these such as battery replacement, SSD upgrade, you have to remove the screen. Its a tedious process and risk cracking or ruining the digitizer. Performance wise you're on par with Dells. I like the dells a tad bit better, but they are not as readily available due to the lack luster sales.
