Amazingly good feeling keyboard and trackpad

HUGE STEP UP from the last one!!!! I've owned my Surface Pro 3 for a while, and really like it, However, I really felt the older Type Cover was a lesson in compromise. Great integration, worked perfectly, nice added functions, and so darn thin... However it felt a little awkward to type on, and the trackpad especially while good was a little hard to use - in both cases the reason was the slight flexibility of the underlying structure... clicking the trackpad flexed the whole keyboard. The keys were ergonomic for a compact keyboard but felt odd and it was hard to type fast. Now, I had seen the new Type Cover in the store and even tried it out in passing by and noticed it seemed like a nice upgrade, but hey I already had one. The new Type Cover is SO solid feeling and the keys work flawlessly. Very ergonomic and easy to type fast on. The whole thing feels more solid losing the flex of the old one. I am AMAZED at the Track Pad... I am a mouse only user - can not stand even good track pads... this one is SO good I actually don't mind using it!Highly Recommend! Worth replacing your old one, and a must have if you are buying a new Surface! Finally, while Microsoft offers some nice colors, I LOVE the Best Buy exclusive dark Blue - it is rich and classy looking - my favorite color!

First time, the spine on top of the keyboard where it connects to laptop broke. It refused to work unless I put it in one specific position. Microsoft replaced it pretty quickly without issues.Second time, the up arrow key stopped working and the top layer of the keyboard started peeling away. Microsoft again replaced it without issues.Third time, the shift key broke again and the top layer from corners started peeling away again. Out of warranty so can't get it replaced.A mechanical keyboard and mouse worth that much money lasted me 8 years and it is still working fine. This broke within 4 months.

When reattaching the Cover, the Surface Pro will handily switch between Tablet Mode and the full Windows desktop user interface, although these settings can be changed.Aside from that, the keys are very satisfying to type on, with around 2mm travel, whist the alcantara surround feels great on my wrists. There are a range of music controls on the Function keys as expected, including 'play/pause' and 'volume up/down'. However, I would have liked to see 'skip forward/back' keys too, as appear on MacBooks. It took me a little longer to get used to the trackpad, which is much smaller than you'd find on MacBooks and most other laptops. Given the size of the device, I'm not sure a bigger one would have been possible. The feel, sensitivity and gesture recognition are all spot on though.Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase and would consider it to be an essential one for anyone wanting to take full advantage of the hybrid nature of the Surface Pro.

Excellent like my Mac

I usually have a very hard time switching from my mac computers keyboards to any other PC, I don't know why it may just be me, but I type poorly when I get on a pc. This keyboard is great though! I love the backlight which it dimmable and the keys are spaced well and feel good to the touch in response speed and a solid "click" of sorts. The physical texture feels nice too, almost a smooth soft rubbery texture, but no sloppy play (if that makes sense to anyone or is an issue haha). The trackpad is sensitive and responsive, jet I hit it with my thumb a lot while typing papers for school and my curser jumps all over the page. I recently turned the delay in the track pad up in the settings and this has helped a great deal. I recently turned the delay in the track pad up in the settings and this has helped a great deal. Sometimes I do have some issues clicking, it could be the trackpad of the compter, system, app, etc, idk. Overall not a big issue. The function/hotkeys area just ok, the F1 and F2 keys only adjust the keyboard backlighting, not the screen brightness which is holding the Fn key and tapping the Del or Backspace keys to adjust screen brightness. This seems odd to me as I think screen brightness woud be more important than the keyboard. The magnetic lock to the computer is strong and secure, and the raise up mode works just as well. To take notes with the pen I pull the keyboard off and connect it on backwards and it makes a nice surface to rest my computer on the write.Theres no sag in the keyboard when up in the angled position and no bounce either, which were concerns I had. Also the cover has stayed clean although I am still nerveous about that and how to clean it. Not much else to say other than if you get a S.P. I would highly recommend sucking it up and paying the extra cash for the keyboard, the one in the screen itself wouldn't be worthy of any substantial or expedient typing.I have heard of connectivity problems with the computer (not recognizing the type cover) I had the same problem at first, it goes away once your computer is finally up to date, which takes a week or so.PS: make sure you get the keyboard for the surface pro 4, I hear the older models aren't nearly as nice.

I always want to buy these Microsoft Earbuds

Robert's review of Adobe Photoshop Elements 2021 & Premiere Elements 2021 - Student & Teacher Edition
29 June 2021

Cons: I know that at my age I am totally thick. I have had earlier versions of Photoshop Elements and not had any trouble loading it. I have tried a few times to follow the instructions to download onto my new machine, but have got nowhere. I apparently (but cannot remember it) have an Adobe Account, but cannot get to it. I am totally unable at the present to download the new program, so it is at the present time totally useless to me. I will probably have to pay for professional help to do something which I consider should be very simple. even for the likes of me. So, now do not have anything, even for simply downloading pictures.

Surface Pro 4 Type Cover Review

I purchased this product for my Surface Pro 4 because I needed a keyboard for school work. It isn't a cheap product for a student but it is cheaper than the rest of the markets offerings, this is definitely worth every dollar I saved for it.The trackpad is highly responsive and also quite large, this is great for moving files and dragging items around the screen without having to lift up my finger like on my last laptop :(. It is also very smooth to touch and comfortable to use.I am very impressed with the spacing of the keys on the keyboard. This is exceptional for screen capping which means I can save my mathematical proofs without having to spend time and effort re-writing it on paper. It also makes studying easier by allowing me to screen cap textbook pages.Overall I am immensely satisfied with this product and I would recommend it to any hard working student like my myself who wants to save time and drastically improve their grades with their Surface Pro.

The Key bored itself work great the take pad works well and a key just need to be replaced with the broken keyboard that I had it only took me two keys and 'A' {I'm not that great} and an 'S' key xD at least it took just two. The person who sent it also was kind and friendly and with a fast replied for each message I sent which was nice somehow it came 2 days early and just before I left for a walk to the library which was about lunch. Great timing! overall, I wanted to say thanks ^^

Works great, I miss the fingerprint reader
9 January 2017

I purchased this as a secondary Type Cover, my primary one is the black model with an integrated finger print reader. Both type the same, feel the same, and have the same trackpad. Overall the Type Cover for the Surface Pro 4 is a drastic improvement over the Type Cover for the Surface Pro 3. The keys are larger and more spaced out, the backlight system is brighter and easier to see (actually giving it a purpose), the series of Windows 8 buttons have been removed and replaced with more universal options (volume adjustment, media playback, backlight settings, etc.), the trackpad is larger and more sensitive, and the Type Cover is a little more rigid than the previous generation. The good news is that it works with both the Surface Pro 4 and older Surface Pro 3 so ... MoreI purchased this as a secondary Type Cover, my primary one is the black model with an integrated finger print reader. The one thing I miss is the fingerprint reader. Windows Hello doesn't always recognize my face when logging in. I have gone through the improvement process multiple times but there are still some instances when my face wont' unlock my PC. When using this Type Cover, I have to type in my PIN number to unlock my Surface Pro 4. It's not a big deal but I much prefer simply resting my finger on the scanner in order to unlock my Pro 4 when Windows Hello doesn't recognize my face. It's easy, fast, and secure. I wish Microsoft would add the fingerprint sensor to more of their Type Covers than the standard black one.All-in-all, this is a must buy for any Surface Pro 4 owner. I like the teal color but would prefer it if MS added the fingerprint scanner. Other than that, it's a solid keyboard and a solid color that goes will with the gold Surface Pen.
