I absolutely love x/m32 consoles. What's not to love? They're cheap, the form factor is ideal for quick in/out, they are uber customizable. Oh, and they're built on top of an OSC platform. How many other consoles have that going for them? Sure, there is no time-based automation internally, but that's completely irrelevant with the level of OSC control you can do with one of these things. OSC aside... M32c is a steaming pile of ineptitude: unlike x32 core it has no headphone amp, and no user-definable buttons or knobs (x32 core had 4x buttons, 2 rotaries.) The only real action you can take with this thing if you lose network connection for any reason, is to access the large knob up front which allows you to navigate basic console functions such as selecting ... MoreI absolutely love x/m32 consoles. If all you need, like a previous reviewer mentioned, is a monitor rig, and plan to purchase additional i/o to go along with this 1u (or perhaps x-dante or adat card,) you're probably fine with one of these. I would, however NOT recommend purchase of this poor excuse for an console for any live sound event, unless you also purchase an x-touch (full size) at the *very* least. If Music Group were to issue a new version with a headphone amp, buttons and knobs on the front in this price range, I may adjust that opinion slightly; but all in all - save your cash for something more emergency-resistant.
The M32c is a great purchase for rack mount installs. (Not live) To be proficient with the M32c learn the M32 or M32r with the M32 edit software first. You can also use the M32c with the Behringer XTouch as a control surface. Happy mixing TVNinc.
Fantastic value in a digital mixer. Sound rated 3 out of 5 because audio quality is mostly dependent on which external preamps/A/D/A converters are used.
Hes of use is Is the biggest complaint. Documentation is not non existent as far as I can find so far best Avenue for learning how to use the M32C has been YouTube videos of other users and vendors describing how to use features. One thing is there are a lot of different videos there are short but they are not very detailed. For instance I have found nothing that will tell me all the options in a single section in details as to what each item does.
Live the M32c for small club gig. Easy setup and mix with an iPad. Going to get another to create Monitor World!
