Miele Blizzard CX1 Excellence Bagless Vacuum Cleaner
A great vacuum cleaner should go beyond powerful suction. This may benefit the state of your floors, but Miele believe in making vacuums that benefit the user. That’s why their floorcare range offers ergonomic control, impressive longevity, and optimum standards of hygiene. Backed by over 100 years of German engineering excellence, Miele have earned a worldwide reputation as one of the most trusted appliance manufacturers. The Blizzard CX1 is Miele’s first bagless vacuum cleaner. Powerful Vortex technology allows airflow to exceed 100 km/h, leaving no trace of fine dust or more concentrated dirt. The heavy stuff is separated from the light stuff to ensure optimum hygiene when emptying the canister. Additionally, the HEPA AirClean Lifetime filter removes even the tiniest dust particles and allergens from the air. Containing standard inclusions of an upholstery nozzle, crevice nozzle, and dusting brush, this vacuum is up to the task of more intricate cleaning jobs. Going bagless with Miele means you’ll never be bagged for a slack cleaning job again.

Totally gutted with this vacuum! My fourth Miele vacuum and it is nowhere near as good as the Complete bagged vacuums. I expected it to be even better than my bagged Miele as it’s twice the price but it doesn’t measure up! It’s heavy. It’s huge. And it’s not as powerful!! I hate the design of the handle and the brush attachment. Have they never used a vacuum? You need to vacuum the brush attachment to clean it, but that is impossible on this model. And because you can’t hide it away, you have an ugly dirty brush to look at when ever you vacuum. Nice! If you’re not careful, when you stand the machine up the dust compartment comes off. It’s all so flimsy, feels destined to break in no time. Definitely not robust enough to stand up to the task of being carted around a ... MoreTotally gutted with this vacuum! I bought it online after reading so many good reviews. Evidently these people haven’t had a great vacuum before if they’re impressed by this crap. If only I could have got a refund!!!

Pros: Powerful, big dust box, robust. Small tools are stored on the outside of the vacuum for easy access. Best vacuum I’ve ever had and I’ve had a few Miele’s. It puts the Shark machine it’s replacing to shame. Just couldn’t deal with the Shark, hated it.Cons: The way the flap on the dust box opens - it just flaps open so all the dust falls out very quickly in a cloud. Would have preferred a latch with a bit more control. Would have liked to be able to store the pole on the body of the vacuum when it’s standing vertically, as with my previous Miele. But they’re 2 quite small points on an otherwise brilliant vacuum cleaner!

Purchased Miele for the supposed quality. Went with this model over a Dyson based on reviews. We had the Miele Blizzard no more than 2 months and the retractable power cable mechanism failed. Returned to Harvey Norman, who arranged for repair under warranty. Had to wait several months for vacuum to be fixed. Had the vaccum about 2 weeks and the retaining clip on the main handle has started to come off (apparently under the weight of the handle and hose). Pretty disappointing for a product that cost just shy of a grand and which has a rep for being solid and reliable. I'd always understood Miele products to be like the appliances I remember as a kid - lasted 25 years without any issues. A sign of the times I guess. Had the same issues with Bosch products: pay premium ... MorePurchased Miele for the supposed quality. Went with this model over a Dyson based on reviews. Pros: powerful suction and the ability to change between 4 suction settings to suit the floor/ fabric. Reasonably manoeuvrable, much better than our old cleaner. Bagless compartment works well & is easy to empty. Very quiet compared to previous cleaners we used. Very pleased with purchase and would highly recommend.Cons: Only minor point is that sometimes in normal use, if you accidentally touch the cable rewind, it automatically rewinds fully. It is easily done if the flexible pipe swings past it. Other than that this is a brilliant design and excellent performance cleaner.
My 18 year old Miele vacuum was still working, there was nothing wrong with it, and it had never needed repairs, but technology has changed and I wanted a new vacuum, without the dust bag.My Miele Blizzard Excellence is fabulous. Clever design, easy to swap out attachments, simple to empty bin, a good long cord, and the cleaning power is amazing, on carpets, rugs, and hard floors. This is a traditional vacuum cleaner, not a cordless, not a stick, which are so popular now - I've tried both of the latter - and they're inferior and such a bother for a decent burst of thorough cleaning.I highly recommend the Miele, including for pet hair.Miele is a quality, reliable brand. I'm very happy with my purchase.
Pros: The swivel wheels on the base of the cleaner makes it so easy to manoeuvre. Having tools stowed on the machine itself means that you always have them to hand. It is the quietest vacuum cleaner I have used and the strong suction means it’s performance is excellent on hard floors or carpets, even the most stubborn pet hair is easily removed. I would definitely recommend it.Cons: The cylinder that holds the contents was a little tricky to put back on the machine at first, but once you know how it works, it isn’t a problem.
Pros: No bags and amazing what amount of dust it picked up. Much quieter than our previous cyclone, bag-less vacuum cleaner. The accessories are easy to use, special carpet head works well. It is a slightly bigger machine, but with the length of electric wire, flexible hose and telescopic pipe, I think it is the perfect balance. Cons: Wireless would be amazing. At the moment wireless means electric engine is on the telescopic pipe, which I feel makes those impractical for hard to reach area like in cars, under furnitures. So this product still slows me to have that.
Pros: The suction is excellent, it is very quiet. The attached brush on the hose is very convenient. It is also very easy to empty and clean. The build quality seems good.Cons: Not too sure how you would replace the attatched brush on hose if it got damaged. When emptying you have to be careful when lifting box out az it has opened on me and ended up with dust everywhere.
Pros: No expensive bags to buy. Mains operated so battery doesn't run out every five minutes. Handle on pole comfortable. Canister pulls around effortlessly. Very strong construction of the casing. Tools slide into place smoothly. Turbo tool for carpets does a thorough job.Cons: The yellow clip on dust bin has to be fully engaged with thumbnail (to the right) after closing the bin, just to make sure it is tight and secure ... but that isn't a problem really. The canister is fairly heavy but that doesn't matter as you push the pole not the whole unit, and the canister is not too heavy to carry upstairs.
Disappointed that the cord is only 7.5 metres and not 10 metres as listed in the Harvey Norman list of specs, as I needed 10 metres. It is lovely and quiet and does an excellent job. It is not as manoeuvrable as my previous upright brand and I find it quite heavy and cumbersome to haul around. The onboard storage of attachments is great. So overall a mix of pros and cons. A smaller model would probably have been better for me but the exorbitant price of the bags put me off.
