Pros: Mechanically, It has fantastic build quality. It washes clothes well. Its economical to run.Cons: However, from a functional perspective its just too damn complicated. I have a number of post graduate degrees in computer science and I still don't understand how & when this TwinDos system works. It beeps at every available opportunity. Beeps to say its finished, Beeps when there is too much fluff in the fluff tray, beeps when there is an error (and there are lots of errors). Our previous miele was a doddle to use. This one, we still need the operating manual to hand for when the next curve ball is thrown at us.

This washing machine is extremely heavy, 97kg!! If your floor is slightly uneven, it'll be almost impossible to balance this machine. I used spirit levels and tried for a very long time to make it as perfect as possible (imagine trying to manipulate 4 feet under a 97kg machine in a tight corner), but since this machine is not very tolerant, it still sometimes shakes the entire house on spin cycles. So, I'd only recommend it if you have a perfectly flat concrete floor.Other than that, clothes feel soft after washing whilst my old machine made clothes feel stiff. You can change the setting to show washing time remaining. No beep at the end of the cycle and it carries on doing short rotations, so clothes don't stick together.

I got three washing machines in total, two replacements from Miele, the first two came faulty, one was leaking and the other didn’t go to 1600rpm at all, the third one was working about 3 months before faulty but sometimes sounds strange like the drum was hitting the chassis. Performance is good, washed clean and fresh and came out very dry. Service is good, people work for Miele are nice. Improve the quality is a must or the good reputation will be ruined. The review here is only wishing Miele has an eye on this issue. Improve the quality instead of just increasing the price. We bought $3000 but now $4000. 30% increasing within a year.

High quality - poor and lengthy customer service
7 January 2023

The washing mashing performance is the best! Top of the industry. There is an opportunity to improve the design of the WPS (waterproof system) that connects the washing machine to the water.I had to make the cabinet hole bigger to be able to pass the pipe through which cost me extra. If the system was detachable, I wouldn’t have to pay extra!Another one is make it transparent during check out that buyers require to purchase/choose the installation by Miele otherwise customers get surprised when they get the expensive washing machine but not to install it by Miele! Disappointing.

Pros: Our previous Meile had a 5kg drum, whereas this has an 8kg drum. We really notice the difference and it’s a big positive having significantly fewer loads of washing per week now. The TwinDos auto delivery of UltraPhase 1 & 2 detergents is brilliant. I wasn’t fully convinced about how effective this feature would be, or how much we’d use it in practice before we bought the machine. However, we’ve not looked back and haven’t used conventional detergent in the machine since day 1. And we’ve the peace of mind knowing the precise doses are delivered each time and that it’s beneficial to the long life of the machine and kinder to clothes. The mobile app and timer features are brilliant too. I set up the Eco 40-60 cycle the night before and programme it to finish for when we get up so the washing is ready to peg out first thing. So easy to do this with the mobile app and timer too. No more Rinse Hold. Although the Eco 40-60 cycle has a much longer duration it definitely seems much more efficient on water and electric and with the timer it’s easy to set up for an early hours of the morning start. This new model is definitely quieter than our previous Meile too which is an extra bonus. Great piece of kit all round and no regrets purchasing it.Cons: None. All good.

LED touchscreens are super annoying. Ditch ‘em!
24 December 2022

Looks promising - has many of the hallmarks of a Miele product which has earned the brand my loyalty - sturdy build, reliable so far (it has big shoes to fill - my last Miele washer lasted 17 years). But why they have moved away from a dial & embraced LED touchscreens for setting some aspects of the cycle, I’ll never understand. Dials are reliable and durable. LED screens are tedious to use (beep, beep, beep, beep every time you want to change the water temperature & no memory of your preferences); and far more likely to fail. So far, that’s my only complaint. I’ll be listening to those beeps every time I wash. A dial doesn’t need to remember. It just sits where you left it. Sigh.

NOT HAPPY!!
11 June 2022

It does not rinse clothes properly. I am running the water into a laundry sink and can observe that the final rinse water is cloudy and sudsy. I feel compelled to then run the load repeatedly through several separate rinse cycles at the end of a wash cycle and even then it is not all that clean.PLUS, the length of the wash cycle for a load of cottons (my usual load) takes far too long at a minimum of 1hour 39 minutes on Short option, otherwise it takes 3 hours and 9 minutes, which is ridiculous. Then there is the issue of the grubby rinse water and the necessity to run the rinse cycle a few times to get it rinsed adequately. Hence it takes a large chunk of my day to do one load of washing. Therefore I am not happy with this machine and I regret buying it.What ... MoreIt does not rinse clothes properly. Sadly, had to be returned.
28 December 2022

Very disappointed. Extremely violent shaking and walking during spin cycles even though it was perfectly balanced and yes, transit bars were removed. I could not put on a wash and leave the room, it had to be watched like a baby so that it didn’t crash into the wall. It does not know when to stop! Drum clean alert after less than 10 days use, which was done but then a grimey film was left over the whole drum after the very next wash, which was only lightly soiled. A subsequent empty wash did not remove this film, it had to be wiped off with a sponge. Only plus was that it could be returned under the 30 day money back guarantee.I did like the look and functionality, especially the door opening to the right.

Step backwards in tech and user options

I'll start by saying that this is mainly my fault and I should have done more research, but I will add the information about the washer on the Miele web site is not easy to find and the web site is not user friendly when it comes to displaying the list of functions that are available or not available on the machine. We also purchased this new washer to match a newly purchased Miele dryer. This is where I falsely assumed that the new washer would, like the miele dryer and other washers on the market today would have a buzzer or an alarm that would announce when the machine was finished, again like the new Miele dryer we had purchased a month previous. But I find this machine is not fitted with a buzzer to announce it has finished washing unlike its old replacement, the new machine is not fitted with this function and their is no program option for me turn it on. My family have grown to rely on a buzzer to tell us when the machine is ready to be unloaded, If only I had known that I needed to purchase a larger 9kg machine and spend further money to get program that would allow us to have a buzzer to announce when the wash was finished. We are now searching for a timer to go in the laundry that we can set to remind us the washer is finished. Why would you not provide this option for a machine that is double the price of competitors that offer this simple and handy function?

Pros: The unit seems very well built and is super heavy ~100kg. It has plenty of wash cycles and features, and a very good easy to use TFT screen to manage it. The integration with the Miele App on your phone is also very good. The unit aesthetics are also very good and blends well with the area (kitchen) located. We had Miele before so the wash performance is very good.Cons: The unit delivered came with a big dent on the bottom, and actually never even entered my home, so this was not a great first sign. I had to buy from a different retailer in the end. The other problem is that because the unit is so heavy, even if its perfectly balanced with spirit level, as soon as you put some wash load in (e.g. >4-5kg) the vibration, when using more than 1,000 rpm spin ... MorePros: The unit seems very well built and is super heavy ~100kg. The other problem is that because the unit is so heavy, even if its perfectly balanced with spirit level, as soon as you put some wash load in (e.g. >4-5kg) the vibration, when using more than 1,000 rpm spin setting, in a standard new built (2019) house with concrete slab, raised 22mm subfloor, and solid wood floor on top of subfloor is immense, to the point that the whole ground floor is shaking! When there is no load even at 1,600 rpm (max) the unit does not vibrate at all, you barely hear it or feel it. We had no such issue with a less heavy Washing Machine from Bosch. Currently I am forced to limit the spin cycle to 800rpm to make it bearable. I doubt these heavy units are built for UK houses considering the build standards of the UK. Miele should have a clear warning at the point of sale and their website, and not expect users to read the manual in full before buying it.
