Immense amount of configuration options, proven stability. Great WLAN range and speed with newest standards compatibility. Works out of the box for the most common home deployments. Requires a bit of know how for more complex setups.
While MikroTik products are not for everyone, they are a great value and a great wifi router. MikroTik is working hard to make these router more user friendly with the implementation of "Quick Sets" which will configure the router for many home users needs. I highly recommend this wifi/router over any of the "home" routers
I bought this after reading all the positive reviews. Yes it has lots of "features" that can be used if you know what your doing, (I dont know if they work because I did not buy the router for that) but when it comes to wireless performance it is no better, maybe a little bit worse than any other router that ive tried Ive tried Netgear, Linksys, Dynex all under $100 and all performed as good. So it does not have top of the line performance on 5 ghz wireless, as i was led to believe. Im less than 12feet away and I can see the router and it wont even hit n speeds. It works fine as a router but dont use it to try to improve you wi fi coverage. Fantastic router with enterprise-grade features. Takes some time to get to grips with the operating system but the GUI makes it easier to learn before using the CLI. I currently have it set up at home running VLANs, multiple subnets, guest SSID with captive portal, granular firewall capabilities and much more. Would highly recommend if you have good networking knowledge and want to use this as a learning platform.

As a trained Mikrotik tech, I love all of Mikrotiks' products. This router ( hAP AC ), was the first router I use in my own home network. The easy at which this device is to setup is incredible. The software ( RouterOS ) is very versatile and we can do just about anything to secure your internet connected devices. This particular device is going to be in a cAPSMaN config for remote use. Making it the perfect router to accomplist SOHO operations from many miles away.
