I’m a Union Sheet Metal Worker in northern Illinois and work for the largest contractor in the local. Our company solely uses Milwaukee tools and 9/10 are great products. So naturally I purchased a Packout backpack to carry my tools, to and from the jobsite. I was initially happy with the backpack but after a few weeks the seam at the bottom of the zipper is pulling apart and tools risk falling out as well as it sometimes is impossible to zip the bag up. I’ve made attempts to contact Milwaukee but never received a response to address the issue.

I work as an Hvac apprentice and have had this bag for roughly two years now and its worked great. I can carry all my tools and with the pack out bottom I can attach a separate compartment for all my screws, wire nuts and other small, miscellaneous items. Having all my tools on my back frees my hands up to carry more equipment. what i like most about it, and what separates it from other bags I've used is that it doesn't fall over when opened, no matter how full it is. I'll be using this bag until the straps fall off, love it.

I really did like this bag much more then my Klein or any others I've owned. But like the rest the zippers are the weak. Being packout compatible is great you can throw the slim organizer on and have everything at hand. But then the zipper failed and well as you can guess the customer wasn't pleased with the dents in her wood floor. And well I guess back to the old tool box and multiple trips to the van.

It is definitely big. The Packout attachment is awesome - you will use that feature more than you think. I bought this to replace the 15 Packout bag, but I find that I use both. The only thing I dont like is to have a good place to store the backpack straps when Im carrying it by the top handles - which is a lot. Overall this is a definite winner!
Decent pack so far, seems durable and can use the packout slides which is neat. Interior of main pouch isn’t the best layout as most of the tools don’t stay in the pockets due to weird sizing or lack of a through hole. Feel like it doesn’t open up big enough and you are always just grabbing into an abyss of tools at the bottom.Secondary front compartment is hardshell but soft, wish it had better compartments though.
So I gave the backpack a 4 star and not a 5 if the bag would stop falling forward! With that out of the way I’m a homeowner and own a couple investment properties. 2 years ago I had a spinal cord injury that I spent 1 year learning how to walk and still struggle. It’s nice to see Milwaukee thinking of ways to bring our tools with us and making it easier to carry the load. I originally had a tool bag and was unable to walk with it because of the widget being off centered. Now with the backpack all the weight is in the center of my body and makes it so much easier to bring my tools with me. From the other reviews I read I just hope it doesn’t start ripping or coming apart.Note: please make sure you keep people with disabilities in mind when designing your products ... MoreSo I gave the backpack a 4 star and not a 5 if the bag would stop falling forward! So far you guys have done a great job.I just got rid off all my tools from another manufacturer and recently purchased all new Milwaukee tools. One reason in doing so is the support I’ve heard from my friends and the other is the company leaving bad reviews up and responding to them to resolve the customers problems. Let me tell you this is very uncommon as there are multi billion dollar companies who will remove negative reviews or send them to the very very back of pages. Keep doing what your doing Milwaukee and listening to your customers!
I love this! I'm an electrician and currently am working on a big multifamily dwelling (apartment complex) and I have soooooooo many stairs to climb up and down all day. This new upgrade to my system gives me the mobility I need to get my job done fast and super mobile. Can fit all my hand tools that I basically need for the day and I don't have to roll my tools around everywhere anymore. For price I think all of the packout is slightly overpriced but I can say that it's the best system like it out on the market. It's a investment in yourself how I see it tho
Fits lots of stuff, more than the Klein Tradesman Pro. However I wish it had more interior pockets for pliers and wrenches in the main section. The pockets in the Milwaukee are a bit too big & loose for pliers. The pockets in the Klein are more useful. Needs more tiny pockets for screwdrivers. I also wish it had a dedicated pocket for safety goggles like the Klein. The nylon fabric is a little thinner than the Klein, but seems adequate. Another nice addition would be clips to hold M12 and/or M18 batteries. I bought some 3rd party ones for Dewalt 20V batteries and zip tied to outside of the back pack shoulder straps. The little loops on the outer face of the shoulder straps facilitated this. Overall this a great backpack and worthwhile addition to my packout ... MoreFits lots of stuff, more than the Klein Tradesman Pro. Milwaukee, if you are listening, why didn’t you make the new M12 vaccum a Packout style unit like the M18 version... or better yet able to take either M12 or M18 batteries??? That would have been a homerun product and you would sell a lot more units!
I am a musician and have a full band that has a bunch of expensive equipment. The little pockets are great for expensive microphones and I don't have to worry about them being damaged when they are put in this backpack! I am not using it in a construction setting so I'm not experiencing the wear and tear that most other are on other reviews. What I put in the PACKOUT Backpack:8- Microphones7- Drum Microphones10- Sound cables1- Mixing bored3- Extension Cords- Business Cards- Batteries- Zip ties- iPad- iPad Holder- Vocal PedalAll of this fits into this bag and is protected by the quality of Milwaukee!
After owning milwaukee tools for a long time I decided to buy the packout backpack. It was great at the beginning but now the stiching is coming away after only owning it 4 months! Never overloaded just basic plumbing tools. Not what you'd expect from a bag for £140. There's no way to register it for warranty either from what I can see so looks like I'm £140 put of pocket and need to buy another toolbag. Should of stuck with my £35 stanley open tote which I have had for 6 years.
