Love the packout concept. It’s addicting. I received mine two days ago. It holds the Ozark Trail Large Ice substitute perfectly covering the bottom. However the width is 7.7 inches and a water bottle is 8 inches. So I have to stack three water bottles lengthwise on my ice block instead of six. But no biggie. It’s more than enough room to hold a days nourishment for the jobsite. Be other thing I noticed that’s different from all of the other packout products is that it’s not a lockable device. All other packout products are designed for a padlock. I can see a future 34 quart device that covers the entire packout footprint. Maybe even a packout water cooler or a packout power pack like a goal zero system. Haven’t seen any packout lights so maybe that’s on the horizon too.

Milwaukee's 16 quart PACKOUT cooler is another great addition to the PACKOUT system. Made of quality materials to withstand the harsh conditions of the job site, the cooler is a must have. Who doesn't have a cooler or lunch pale on the job, now with this cooler you can bring in your food and drinks onto the job site along with all your other tools. The cooler is advertised to hold ice for up to 30 hours, but I use ice packs so not sure if it lasts that long, but for the most part the cooler keeps my drinks and food cold for at least 10 hours in 80 degree weather. A drain plug would have been a nice added touch, but since the cooler itself is small not that big of a deal. Aside from using this on the job site, like my many other PACKOUT products, I use this cooler for many other non work related activities, which includes beach outings and camping. After many months of constant use, the cooler has held up well, the hinges on the lid are reinforced and so far no issues. The handle has also held up well with no issues. Overall I think it's a great addition to the PACKOUT family!!

I love the durability and the compatibility with my other Milwalkee packouts. But it is not a good cooler by any means. I do admit it's been hot and I do leave it in my car which gets hot and maybe that's the issue. I'll still give it 5 stars 5 for everything else and 5 for the cooler capability only because I didn't expect it to perform as needed so I was not disappointed because I never expected that much from it.

Bought it at HD last year to keep small water bottles in while on the jobsite. I tried to keep 6 16oz water bottles in and filled with ice after taking the tray out. In AZ we start at 4am or 5am or earlier to beat the heat in the summer. I'd be lucky if this still kept anything cold till 10am at any point in the year. Didn't matter if it was in the back of my van or in the building. What's sad is the $14 Walmart special that I ended up buying to hold more bottles, can hold 15 16oz bottles and the same 7lb bag of ice. It will still have ice at 10 to 12hrs in the same conditions and its just a 6mm hard plastic tub with a cheap thermal pad wrapped around it and Velcro lid latch.
I bought this as a gift for my husband, as all his tools are Milwaukee and he just bought the large pack out to start his collection. Wow I was so disappointed when he came home from work after about 6 weeks of having it and the one side of the handle broke. I paid $100 for a lunchbox and I couldn’t believe it. All he puts in there is sandwiches, snacks and 2 energy drinks. Unfortunately I can’t find my receipt and I bought it at Home Depot so I will try to exchange it there. So he took the handle off since it was broken and looked ridiculous just hanging there, now he looks so disappointed when he carries his lunch out of the house every day under his arm or on his shoulder. Lugging around this big box instead of using handle like a normal lunch box. I sure hope ... Lugging around this big box instead of using handle like a normal lunch box. I sure hope Home Depot exchanges it. Can I get a number for Milwaukee if Home Depot doesn’t exchange it? He always told me he buys Milwaukee tools because they last forever, not this lunch box handle. Personally I thought it was overpriced for a lunchbox but he loves that it snaps in with his pack out.
I bought this cooler as one of my first packout parts and am hugely disappointed in it. As a tower climber I was hoping for something durable that keeps my stuff cold. Unfortunately it won't keep drinks cold for 8 hours on a job site in 40° weather even... Hugely saddened being a new customer. Makes me weary of buying more stuff from Milwaukee honestly.
… but I couldn’t be happier with the pack out cooler. Yeah it might be pricier than other similar sized coolers but none of those snap on to my boxes for easy transport. I’ve also had my packout cooler in the cab of my hot truck for hours and items we’re still cold. A drain plug would’ve been nice but I use freezer gel packs that stay frozen longer and don’t melt. Can’t look at it as just a cooler, it’s part of a larger system and fits/works well with that system.
I absolutely love all things MilwaukeeI don’t think there’s a single packout made that I don’t own at least one of.But we all know the price difference is sometimes pretty substantial and it’s because of that we hold our “red” to higher standardsSo this last week I’ve been noticing one side of my cooler has sweat on the outside and the other 3 sides are dry as could be. It sits in my work truck between my seats there’s a two foot gap. I spun it thinking it was maybe a draft or the direction of the sun but I’ve been unable to stop the one side from sweating and it’s not something that would happen in the first few months.Overall it’s great to throw on a stack when at a job for a day but over a short time seemed to wear quickly.
I am a dedicated milwaukee tool user. After buying this cooler and using this for 4 months through hot summer days. Ice melts fast and my drinks do not stay cold. I dropped this cooler and the handle broke off. I was expecting good quality for the price I paid for this cool @ $100 bucks. I will never buy this again!!
The Packout system is awesome, and the integration of this lunchbox with that system is flawless.Yep, you guessed it. Definitely not a Yeti, although pre-loading it with 3 ice packs lasts for the majority of my 12-hour work day in the Summer heat of Phoenix. This July has a daily average high in the triple digits, so that is working for me.I’d love to see a version that includes or accommodate a carry strap.
