I LOVED this Flashlight! I live in the country and I need it every single day, so I used it every single day, up until about a week ago. It started shutting off , like the batteries were dead or something, but they weren't, I had bought a pack of 12 brand new triple A batteries and tried every last one of them in my light and it may work for 2 or 3 minutes but it just keeps going off :-( I would absolutely LOVE to have one that wasn't defective because the brightness is amazing! It definitely packs a punch. And when it was working fine, I didn't change the batteries for at least 5 months before having to replace them!! And that's with daily use multiple times a day!! I wish I could give it 5 stars but due to this issue it has with , well.. not working anymore, I ... MoreI LOVED this Flashlight! Note: The rating on this light would be a 1-star before fixing it.I read all the negative reviews on this light and found out the reason for the malfunctioning. It boils down to cathode tailcap treads contact, the pocket clip and the tightness of the retaining ring on the inside of the tailcap. To fix this light to five-star quality, You have to super tighten the retaining ring on the inside of the tailcap (with the two holes on each side) using either thin needle nose pliers or a small caliber spanner wrench, and I find removing the pocket clip by first removing the o-ring and then sliding it out helped a lot by allowing the tailcap to be screwed down further and tighter. Now, after the fixes, it functions perfectly. I'm enjoying the forward clicky, NO PWM even on low mode, gorgeous warm tint, fit and finish with vertical horizontal checkered grip, and lenser-esque type optic which preserves overall lumens pretty well when going from flood to spot.

This thing sucks - same issue as everyone else where the flashlight won’t stay on for a few seconds. I work offshore, so I purchased this flashlight, assuming that since it’s Milwaukee it would hold up and took it with me to work. Now I’m stuck on a ship for a month with a flashlight that doesn’t function and it is VERY frustrating. I’ve tried removing batteries, etc, no results. Really is a shame that you cannot trust a brand name to make something as simple as a working flashlight.

Just like the other comments, mine doesn’t stay on. Stays on bright then flickers to low setting then shuts off. I work in tiny tank rooms and bilges and love the overall design of the light but does me no good when it doesn’t stay on. Constantly change batteries but nothing helps. Had this one for about a year. Today I purchased the red lithium pivot light and hopes it last like my other Milwaukee products.
This is a good flashlight that emits a very bright light even for 325 lumens. It has a lovely shade around 3k in temperature and is very capable. The rated battery life is also excellent at 5hr on high. However there are two things holding it back: first of all the cheaply made clip scrapes the flashlight as you remove the tailcap to swap out batteries. Secondly the price is just too high for what this is. At most this is a $25 light that should be competing with the coast g32/36 not $40.
It’s amazing how unbelievably bad this flashlight is. It simply doesn’t stay on. For about 2 years I assumed I was doing something wrong. Then I finally read these reviews. And it was THE most expensive model in its category. Shameful that this company continues to sell a clearly defective product. It should be zero stars but that was not an option.
Came here to see if others were having the same problem. Well my conclusion..... never should have got this light!! It's like the power connection doesn't actually connect. It will stay on if I don't put the battery cover on straight. (Set it on crooked) otherwise like everyone says push the button and it just flashes. Will definitely not buy another of there lights. The battery holder does come apart aswell, though when you put it in, it go's back together to be able to work....if it worked.
This was a gift that Lasted 2 weeks, it started automatically dimming. Then flickering like it had a bad connection. Batteries lasted like 3 days. Then it got so hot you couldn't hold it, The batteries blew up inside because of the heat causing the battery cylinder to break in diff spots. But Home Depot won't Exchange out DEFECTIVE MERCHANDISE. it was a gift so I didn't have the receipt. AGGREVATING!!! At this point I just want my money back! A flashlight shouldn't have all these ISSUES!
It's a good light- compact, extremely bright for its size, and durable. My only complaint is something I really cannot tolerate as a designer- removing the rear cap for changing batteries makes the red clip rotate, and that rotation immediately scraps off the black paint (paint, not Type III Industrial Hardcoat Anodization) from any part of the body that the clip contacts. Maybe I am overly sensitive to details, but I simply do not understand how this was screwed up to begin with, and especially how it got past the prototype phase. Also, don't get this without a sheath; it should come always include a "free" sheath baked into the price. The paint is easily scraped off, and then the owner looks unprofessional.
I'm a facility manager and use a flashlight to comb attic spaces, look under desk, in engine compartments, to work in electrical panels etc. This flashlight would not stay on and you would have to shake it or hold it at a certain angle to get it to stay on, if it stayed on at all. I exchanged it under warranty and the new one does the same thing.Do you know how frustrating it is to be on a ladder or under a vehicle having to constantly shake your flashlight for it to come? if it does at all.For over $30, I would expect much more from Milwaukee. Especially since I probably have over $1k of other power tools.
