So far this tool has exceeded even my high expectations. I've been eyeing Milwaukee's cordless ratchets since the original one came out, but could never really justify the cost. But when a series of equipment breakdowns left me with a bunch of repairs, I decided it was time. I am so glad I waited for this generation. The FUEL high speed is the best ratchet Milwaukee offers for my needs. It has the robustness of the original FUEL but with over twice the speed. The original has 55ft/lbs of torque with 200rpm. This high speed version gives 35ft/lbs of torque at a blistering 450rpm. Add to this the fact that it is more compact than the original, and its a no-brainer for me. As a side note, the M12 batteries are incredible (so far). I used the ratchet for two whole days on one XC3.0 battery. Seriously?! I was expecting to be constantly charging the thing. It's amazing just how much this tool speeds up a job. I've had great success with every Milwaukee toolI've bought, and this is no exception.

This ratchet is crazy fast. I have a couple tool truck cordless ratchets and this Milwaukee is mindblowingly fast. The torque is low, but the speed is where the ratchet shines. Due to the low torque I don’t use it as often as I’d like. It definitely eats thru batteries. I swap them out at least once a day. Tool truck batteries I swap them out maybe once every couple weeks, so that’s a pretty big disappointment for the Milwaukee. The Milwaukee head gets pretty hot after using it on several fasteners, but by the time the battery dies it’s basically telling me it needs a break anyways. If you get a running start on tighter fasteners, it usually breaks them loose. I have been very happy with my purchase so far. The ratchet performs easily as well as expected. The torque being lower than the other Fuel model is easily make up for by the increased speed. If you nees more torque, it is easy enough to just use the tool as a manual ratchet to break a nut or bolt loose, or to apply finishing torque.Battery life has been quite good, even with the included 2.0ah battery. While the built-in light doesnt fully replace a good shop light or flashlight when working in poorly lit spaces, it does provide enough illumination to work with in a pinch. RPM control is pretty simple with the paddle switch, though it might have been nice to have at least a high/low option.Overall a great tool. Makes auto work quite a bit less labor-intensive!

As a heavy/medium duty diesel mechanic apprentice I've been using my 3/8 high speed ratchet everyday at work. It's extremely fast and helps me get jobs done a lot faster than using a hand ratchet. My only complaint is the lack of break away torque. Seems like every bolt/nut (even ones that are usually torqued down to low ft-lbs) need to be broken by hand first. My mentor's snapon 3/8 cordless ratchet doesn't seem to have this issue though. Not sure if I got a dud or if this is fairly common with this specific ratchet.
I have been using air tools all my life and that includes a 3/8 air ratchet. I bought this and a 1/2 so I had access to grab something for a job to use without starting up the air compressor and dragging around the hose. This has a decent amount of power but alot of times you have to loosen the bolts with the manual ratchet function some before it will remove it the rest of the way and it snugs it down ok but make sure to check it manually also. The most annoying thing about it is the socket falling off all the time the ball bearing isn't strong enough to hold anything but maybe a single chrome socket in place. Great Ratchet. This Ratchet has less torque than the normal Fuel Version, but it has a lot more speed. I purchased it for light low torque jobs, cleaning threaded holes with a Tap and Tap Socket. It works great for that, switching directions is quick and easy. It feels like the switching mechanism is better than the non fuel version. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a faster, lower torque cordless Ratchet. The M12 batteries are rock solid, the newer battery designs work better in the ratchets, don’t have to worry about the battery coming apart.

This is my 4th 3/8 Milwaukee ratchet. Many people get ratchets confused with 90 degree right angeled impact wrenches. Allot of negative reviews are a result of this misunderstanding. Basically, all you have to do is put the socket on the bolt, give it a tug to crack it and then hit the paddle to zip it off. The only problem that is common among all of the FUEL ratchets is the size of the head compared to the old brushed version. The high speed model is definitely better than the first FUEL standard length model but is still larger than the original. Amazing little tool !! When it comes to an auto ratchet, this thing really can’t be beat. I work as a mechanic/tech working on conversion vans doing mainly aftermarket installs and reach for this little guy constantly. You can get into tighter spaces with the head and the body then you can with any other ratchet on the market at the moment. I have owned or used multiple others, including the original brushed model from Milwaukee, and this beats them out no question for me. The speed is the main reason for my upgrading, but the shape of the head and size also made work even easier than before. You have great control with the lever switch if you need to do a controlled removal or install, which comes in handy quite often. I bought this to replace a 2457-20 ratchet because I had already replaced two head kits and it was time. This thing is fast. I use it to mainly to remove water pumps and timing belts and it fits into those spaces and although it has 35 ft lbs torque, it has more than enough power for those jobs. I would not use it to remove caliper bolts unless you break the bolts free first. I use the 2564-20 ratchet for those jobs and suspension jobs and have not met a bolt that would not come loose using that ratchet. I switched from air tools to Milwaukee electric tools a couple of years ago and have not looked back. They are quieter and have the power I need to do my job.
