I have used Milwaukee cordless for over 10 years. I own may bare tool and 7 batteries and a heated jacket. This impact wrench was on my wish list as I do alot of mechanical repairs and maintenance on my ATV and truck. The first time I used it I was very impressed and can't understand why it took me so long to get one. So much so I have now bought a M12 fuel extended reach 3/8 drive ratchet for other mechanical work I'm set up now to do everything faster and easier. Dissasemby and reassembly are so much easier with these tools.

Yet another great tool from Milwaukee. As oppose to others, I love pin detent. Sockets stay very secure without chance of coming out, I do not have a problem with inserting a screwdriver to release them. I only use two sizes at most for just about all lug nuts. Built quality and power are top notch. Before purchasing it, I compared to Snap-on ($$$) and Dewalt (seems very cheaply made).One more thing, do yourself a favor and buy any Milwaukee tool from an authorized dealer instead of Amazon, Ebay, flea market or marketplace. You get full 5 year warranty and that is very important. Other seller pro rate warranty (the date the tool was made) if any.

Just got this for Christmas. Got the 2960-20 tool only. Went to pull wheels off GMC 2500 and it won’t break them free. I loosened them with breaker bar by hand and then did them back up and tried again and it still wouldn’t. Tried two different 5.0a/h batteries and a 9.0a/h battery. All fully charged. This thing is useless. Really disappointed. This was no where close to 600ft/lbs.

Perfect for when you need the power of a 1/2 inch impact but don't wanna hold the monster that is the high torque. Will fit most of your needs at least for my experience. And when I rarely need more I have my high torque. It removes lugs off pretty easily even on older rusted cars and most bolts. Love the tri light as well
I own a complete lineup of Milwaukee tools, both FUEL and standard M18. All of them have been great with the occasional issue that Milwaukee has always stood behind. Not a fanboy, I have plenty of every tool, just ask my wife... Anyway, great quality, very easy to use and priced right. I am often called on to be the occasional mechanic. This is capable of removing lug nuts on my Chevy 2500 HD Duramax and my 2011 Honda minivan with ease. Please ignore the past comments regarding 1/2" sockets not fitting. There is something called a friction ring at the top of the anvil, the part the socket attaches too. It is intended to keep the socket seated on the tool and does require a bit of effort at first to get the socket on. It WILL fit. Not cheap. But you only need to buy one. Watched a number of videos going back and forth between competitors as well a pneumatic tools and settled on this. The first job involved tackling the front caliper brackets on a 10 year old Audi. No amount of breaker bars and pounding would loosen the 21 mm hex bolts. Read about them, they're infamous. This thing ripped them out. So, so satisfying. And wheel changes are now child's play. It's a keeper.
I purchased this impact wrench primarily to remove/install wheels on my truck and/or other cars. Since receiving the tool I've only used it once (mainly to check it out) and it worked extremely well in my initial testing. My impression is that it will exceed my requirements. The reason i purchased this Milwaukee version as opposed to other makes, is the fact I already have a selection of Milwaukee power products and hence have compatible M18 battery packs and charger. My other Milwaukee products have proven to be exemplary performers so there's a high trust level, plus acquaintances who have had Milwaukee tools for awhile seem to have problem-free service from them.

I'm impressed, as their "approximately 35lb-ft" Auto Shut Off was actually pretty close for an uncalibrated impact. This Mid-Torque impact is perfect in every way, has all the features I want (and some I didn't even realize I wanted), just thrilled with this beast. Weight of this is similar to my air-impact; unlike my top-heavy air-impact that causes fatigue after 64-lugs, while this near-perfectly balanced (with 5.0 battery) M18 impact is just effortless. Beyond happy.The only "negative" I could even think of is the socket detent-pin is so small in diameter that the socket won't unlock for removal without using something like an Allen-wrench to push-in the ball. That negative might actually be a positive, if you're worried about the socket falling off accidentally
I am a technician in a high line dealer and I bought this to use primarily for taking wheels off. It has not let me down once and doesn’t even blink at taking wheels off that are torqued to 120ftlbs. I choose the mid torque over the high torque for weight reasons! Still has plenty of power without wearing me out! Love my Milwaukee!!!
