I used one of these at a snowmobile club I'm in and was thoroughly impressed. So I bought one. So far I have just used it to remove and put back on a UTV tire, but it removed the lug nuts like a champ. Reinstalling I used the "auto" setting so that the wrench stops when it feels resistance. So it works great when you have a lot of thread, but still want to torque a nut (or in my case lugnuts) to a certain level. I decided to go all in so I have purchased a pole saw and a leaf blower too. I already had some M12 Milwaukee tools and just bought a stapler, screw driver and 3/8 ratchet in M12 too. I like that the chargers now have both M12 and M18 charging ports.

I absolutely love this thing. Any diy or at home mechanic needs a tool like this. Makes taking most bolts off an absolute breeze. Set to 20 ft pounds when putting bolts on and not worry about impacting a bolt on and accidentally breaking it. 250 ft pounds of nut busting and once it breaks loose, it slows down and I love that feature. Comes with a bright light to help you see. Cannot wait to purchase the 1/2 inch impact to complete my setup and minimize my use of hand tools! Thanks Milwaukee your quality is amazing!!

Solved my problem. Was replacing 2x6 treated lumber on an old picnic table. Decided to use galvanized lag screws on legs, and the small impact driver I was using started to stress too much. I was trying to decide which M18 tool to buy for my Christmas present, so purchased the Fuel m18 compact 3/8 inch impact wrench, wow! The machine is killer! It had no trouble driving the lag screws, and hardly got warm. I’m slowly replacing all my corded tools, and every Fuel m12 or Fuel m18 tool has preformed brilliantly.

The flat face is a poor design, it makes it difficult to get it on fasteners that are close up against anything. The previous model with the tapered head allowed better access in that regard. With this one you need an extension to get the angle and then you loose all your torque. It’s still a good tool despite that.
A must have for any mechanic. As we all know every little bit of space counts when it comes to working around the car. A couple milimiters is the difference between a quick bolt removal or turning the project into a whole day ordeal. Pair the impact wrench with a set of stubby impact sockets and you're looking at a total depth of 5-1/4". The compact size is just perfect for getting into all sorts of nooks and crannies. The wrench has plenty of torque and has no issues breaking loose the bolts I've thrown at it. The auto stop feature is honestly where the tool shines. No longer do I have to worry about stripping threads or over torquing anything, as the tool with automatically hand tighten bolts, allowing me to come back and finish the job with a proper torque wrench.
I have wanted one of these for ever and never could justify it. I just recently got a job that this would come in handy. I want to love it, great power, break loose torque, lightweight. But idk if it is just the one I bought but the friction ring will not keep any socket on. As soon as you tip it any direction except flat they fall off if you aren’t holding it with your finger. I have to assume they are not all like this but for the cost I’d expect a little better quality.
This thing is like a wolverine. Tiny but powerful. It has 4 modes to choose from for speed and/or power. The 4th mode is what I use when swapping snow tires up here in Northern Michigan. In the 4th mode it will do full power (about 250ft-lbs) in reverse but has an auto-shut on when in forward if it senses 20 or more ft-lbs. I always snug my lug nuts by hand and then give it about 2 uggah duggahs just to keep the rim on and squared up until I can put the rest of the lugs nuts on and then get a torque wrench on the. Both my wife and my car only require 100 ft-lbs for our rims. This thing has no problem at all breaking them free after a long winter. Super happy with this tool!
The M18 3/8" stubby impact is a longer-lasting version of the lighter weight and smaller M12 stubby impact (both 250 ft/lbs) for those wanting a longer time of use between charges or who are already outfitted with M18 tools and batteries. While the larger battery size will prevent access to the occasional tight spot, having the extra battery capacity and duration is a benefit if working on remote projects. This is also an excellent option to keep in your vehicle or RV as a standby.
Knocks loose 60 year old rusted unions with ease - really helpful tool for working on old cars & old rusted connections. Worked great on delicate brake line connections with a set of flare nut crows foot wrenches. The different fastening torque settings are very useful. Outstanding tool.

Even more than my ratchet, of course there are still situations where the ratchet is necessary. The power output is more than adequate and really outright impressive. I have used this to successfully replace control arms and rusted shock mount boots. My truck lug nuts are torqued to 150 foot pounds and this removed them with ease. The fourth mode is my favorite setting and it is excellent. The torque limiting makes it appropriate for delicate applications.
