This thing is amazing! Lots of power, like a WHOLE LOTTA power. Way more powerful than the Makita I was using previously and a ton of control with the variable speed trigger. Used it to precision cut out the front of some custom maple cabinets for a farmhouse sink install. Nailed the cut line perfectly, no tearout and no sanding needed. I was told years ago “always buy a bigger tool than you need for the job and it’ll never let you down.” Thank you Milwaukee for yet another tool that is overbuilt and ready for years of service doing anything I can throw at it.

I have been a dewalt man but im in the midst of converting every tool to milwaukee. Yet again they did not dissappint. let alone the batteries that work in the heat and or cold with zero issue. Last unbelievably long with no let up. This is the best jigsaw i ever owner. Its nice in the hand and it cuts beautifully. I often use the dust collector which was a nice addition and its so smooth with any material it just knows how to cut the specific material. The light is bright which helps beautifully and it swivels its angle easier than any other jigsaw. I love and look forward to usinv this tool like many other of milwaukee fuel tools everytime the project calls for it. Highly recommend.

Let me begin by saying that I am a big Milwaukee fan. I have a good selection of their hand power tools from flashlights, radio/chargers to angle drill and grinders and as well as the heated jacket, hoodie, and T-shirts. However, this tool as powerful as it may be and as long as the charge lasts, is in need of a major redesign. It is a bit heavier although not critical but most importantly, it can't be used as a scroll saw as the typical scroll blade is somewhat shorter than a straight cut blade. The tool was designed with an overly tall base and shoe to allow for tilting which means that the distance from the point of attachment of the blade to the underside of the shoe is such that the blade retracts almost completely past the shoe on the upstroke. This results in ... MoreLet me begin by saying that I am a big Milwaukee fan. The tool was designed with an overly tall base and shoe to allow for tilting which means that the distance from the point of attachment of the blade to the underside of the shoe is such that the blade retracts almost completely past the shoe on the upstroke. This results in the blade partially missing the saw cut and on the down stroke striking the material to be cut and throwing the tool up. This is repeated on the subsequent cycle at which point the tool is now well off-course and the material to be cut has a dent where the blade was not supposed to be and the blade is either broke or bent. The operator will receive a unexpected sharp blow to the hand holding the tool while doing the detail work. A word of caution. Keep the other hand well away from the tool as it bounces around until releasing the trigger. I have been unable to find longer scroll blades and some regular blades are also too short for cutting into standard two-inch stock.(Mine was a gift so I couldn't return it).

This saw is a beast. That’s a good thing and a not so good thing. The good is it’s very powerful and eats wood easily. The not so good is it’s quite large and heavy. This makes the tool not as nimble as I would like but it does make the tool smooth to use because of the added weight. I also wished the blade deflection was less with aggressive curve cutting. I think the saw they should model is the Festool Carvex. I also would like the option of the mitre base to cut precise angle cuts like the Carvex has. You can’t go wrong with this saw.
Recently used this saw to cut some steel exterior doors and was impressed with the performance. Especially like the quick blade stop, the light and the transparent blade guard that does a lot to contain the debris. Had 2 doors to cut so did the first without the vac attachment and the second with. Not much of a difference in debris on the second, maybe 30% less? Still an improvement. The bad: Bought this saw on Saturday, July 2nd. When I unpacked the saw discovered one missing part and one damaged part. I immediately emailed customer support. Then another email on Wednesday, July 6th. Then another one 3 days later and yet another one this past Thursday. NOT A SINGLE RESPONSE. Do better Milwaukee. For the pricing premium you charge you would think you could pay for ... MoreRecently used this saw to cut some steel exterior doors and was impressed with the performance. I spend the money when it comes to tools and in this case and many cases of mine its milwaukee, nothing can stabf up to them or take the wear of someone that uses a tool to get things done and to be able to relyon that tool for years. This jigsaw is great honestly was going to go with the corded, because i like the dependability that the tool would not quit out when it comes to hard woods but farn and fleet had a deal and I couldnt pass that up! This tool has no quit; feed it and it will perform the task! The only feature i dont like is the front blade guard... seems breakable, but have yet to break it... I was taught to take care of my tools for good reason; however would like the guard to be thicker atleast and have a better latch in design. All in all I couldnt ... MoreI spend the money when it comes to tools and in this case and many cases of mine its milwaukee, nothing can stabf up to them or take the wear of someone that uses a tool to get things done and to be able to relyon that tool for years. I bought this saw several months ago and have been very impressed so far. The trigger responses are fast and smooth, the saw is very comfortable to operate and does not vibrate near as much as other jig saws I have used in the past. The built in dust blower and LED work light also work well and make for an easier time using the tool. This saw has more than enough power to cut thick plywood and leaves a surprisingly straight, smooth, splinter free edge in 1/4" plywood. I would recommend this tool to anyone looking for a good quality jigsaw, I would happily buy this saw again.
It would of been 5 stars if a blade was included. I made it all the way home and realized I needed blades. So yes, another road trip to get blades. I thought "Tool Only" excluded only the battery. It was an inconvenience for me, I should've paid close attention to the details. Besides that, it was worth taking the second trip to get the blades.Control is easy to handle. Power is enough to get the job done. Vibration isn't uncomfortable. Overall great tool to have in the shop.
The M-18 D Handle Jig Saw is a must have for any professional or do it yourselfers. It’s a tad heavy when adding one of the big batteries but you’ll get over that when you feel the power in your hand. The first thing I did was use it while installing a new window, I drilled a small whole through the side of the house, inserted the blade and ripped through the siding, house wrap and 1” inch wood slabs used on my 100 year old house. You could ask why I didn’t use a Sawzall which I also own. But sometimes a job like that takes a mixture of power and delicacy, and that’s exactly what this jig saw offers. Sometimes you have to treat the project like a woman….start out delicately but know you have the power to to get the job done when it calls for it. So I gave this thing ... MoreThe M-18 D Handle Jig Saw is a must have for any professional or do it yourselfers. The first time I used this jigsaw I was very upset because I could not get the blade to go in straight. I tried over and over again, I looked online, and it said that I wasn’t inserting it far enough, but that was not the problem. The real problem is I failed to read the instructions and was using a blade with a “U” cut on the top instead of the T-shaped blade that is required for the saw. Once I removed the U-shaped blade and put in the T shaped blade it cut fabulous it works great. The light is usefu,l the little plastic piece to help prevent sputtering works amazing. The slip shoe worked flawlessly, and I like the way the Allen key is concealed in the back of the tool.
