Just makes life easier! Planes a long plank of wood in seconds. Adjusting the depth is simple and the wood is planed beautifully evenly. Also far less messy than doing it using a manual plane, bag collects shavings nicely.

Had to return the first one as it was it cutting square despite the blades being correctly aligned. The right side was always taking off significantly more. The front and back sections of the base were clearly at different angles. Given the price and brand it’s not what I’d expect. Overall build quality doesn’t quite feel as good as my other Milwaukee gear. Only just got the replacement so will see how that fairs.

I love all my milwaukee tools apart from this planer. There was a problem with the motor which was a way for repairs for three months. When I got it back they had repaired nothing. The planer cuts on zero and does eject shavings properly, clogs up very easily. Needs a complete redesign.

My latest stable mate for my growing collection of Milwaukie M18 Power tools. It is better than my last corded one and cuts smoother and square all the time. It may be slightly under powered for a fully employed site Joiner but it is more than capable for even the best DIY'er the lack of effort needed as compared to a hand plane is great as you get older.
In short, this is a really good plane, even for professionals. I very often prefer this particular plane to my previously indispensable electric Dewalt. Lightweight despite its size, quite accurate even without special adjustment of the knives. It’s very nice that you can rearrange the dust bag both left and right. One 5Amp battery lasts for about an hour of almost continuous operation. The main thing is to clear the sawdust from the bag in time so that the system does not clog. I'm trying to find complaints about the tool, but I can't. This is the best plane I've ever had.
Nearly didn't buy as one of the other reviews said the plane wasn't set up properly in factory. And couldn't be altered. This is partly true. When set to 0 on the gauge it was still removing about 1mm of stock. But this was easily fixed. Just pop the cap of the adjustment wheel and trun the nut underneath until it is spot on.Normal Milwaukee quality and leaves a fine finish. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.
I've been using this for over a year now, on trade sites, and I don't enjoy using it. So far I've loved all my Milwaukee gear, with the only exception being the planer.Heavy, uncomfortable, and awkward. I always opt to use other people's planers and only use this when I absolutely have no other choice. My personal gripes are mostly how uncomfortable it is, and how much strain it puts on your wrist after extended use. All cabinetmakers out installing spend a lot of time using planers in almost every thinkable position and capacity on a daily basis. Why planers aren't built with cabinetmakers in mind is truly mind boggling to me. Other brands are more comfortable and don't put so much strain on your wrist. Why planers aren't built with cabinetmakers in mind is truly mind boggling to me. Other brands are more comfortable and don't put so much strain on your wrist. This one just feels heavy and unbalanced. From a performance stand point it is also lacking. No matter what it is your planing, this planer always bites in when exiting the material. Even attempting to force all pressure onto the back toe and balancing it through the exit, you still get it biting in. This plus the wrist fatigue can cause final passes to take way longer than needed and be far more stressful.Overall, I would never recommend this planer to anyone. I genuinely think this whole tool needs a rethink with cabinetmakers in mind.
This planer doesn’t seem to be anywhere near the quality of Milwaukee’s other skins.-Cuts on zero-No blade adjustment-Abysmal dust collection ports that clog with the prided bag, without the bag or with a vacuum.I returned mine for warranty repairs after using it once because I honestly believed it was faulty given how terrible it is. When it came back it was obvious nothing had been changed, it’s just like that.Dealing with a corded planer from another brand is actually less hassle than trying to use this mess of a tool.
This planer was unfortunately one of my most regretful purchases. As the other reviewers have pointed out, the back plate is not in line with the blades. In fact, the blades protrude 1mm above the back plate. This makes it extremely challenging to buzz an accurate amount off the timber, not even considering the ‘bite’ you have to try avoid at the end of each pass. I’ve contacted the shop where I purchased it from and hoping they’ll allow me to exchange it for the M12 planer. Here’s hoping.
I have found that the zero depth setting on this machine is not zero. It will take material off on every setting it has.The base is made of aluminium which scratches quite easily. Not a big deal for me as i dont/wont use this tool as a finisher but i would think cast iron would have done a better job.I am also not happy with the quality of the blades. While planing hardwood, like cut from a tree and dried so no chance of nails in there, both blades literally shattered to bits when going over a burr. I would be happy to take blame for that and double checked it wasnt a result of hitting something within the timber but there was 100% nothing there to explain the blade disintegration. On the upside of that, at least it was easy to remove what was left of them with ...
