Milwaukee REDLITHIUM XC5.0 Battery Pack 12-Volt for M12 Tools (48-11-2450)

I have been using the Milwaukee M12 Battery Pack for approximately one months now. It providing long-lasting power for various tools and applications. I like the high capacity of the battery pack, which ensures extended runtime and increased productivity during tasks. However, I dislike that it might be slightly heavier compared to lower capacity batteries, which can affect portability. Overall, the battery pack has met my expectations by delivering reliable power and extended runtime, making it suitable for various tasks.

Very nice battery for the M12 platform. There is a noticeable difference in the driver's power output when you switch from the small 2.0 Ah to this one. I feel like I can use this battery for several days before it needs to be charged again. I received it with a kit I purchased, which was a great deal. I usually don't buy batteries by themselves.

Batteries just didn’t work well out of box.

Just with the 5.0 high output batteries. I bought the double pack. And they came faulty right out of the package. Even being used on impact, 70% of time, drill battery indicator will just blink as soon as I press the trigger. Very frustrating when you need something done and don’t have the battery working to get the job done. It made me hesitant on buying any more m12 5.0 batteries. And by the way this the first time I had ever left a review on anything ! Yeah

Cheaper plastic than the older batteries

I bought two of these batteries last October. One for me and one for a friend. By April both batteries had worn out where the plastic tabs engage with the tool. I brought both batteries to a Milwaukee authorized warranty facility in April along with my proof of purchase. It’s now the end of July and Milwaukee has supposedly determined my batteries were not eligible for warranty and recycled them without contacting me. I’ve owned a lot of Milwaukee tools over the years. First time I’ve had a battery wear out in less than 6 months. This sort of service is Unacceptable

They had a good sale on these batteries. A standard battery will actually turn off because they get too hot, and the charger will not charge them until they cool. These 5 ah batteries have 20% more amp hours than my 4.0 ah ones but they lasted 33% longer on my leaf blower. They did not get very hot and the charger accepted them immediately. They have better internal batteries and run cooler.

Last month I got the smaller High Output CP2.5 Amp Hour M12 REDLITHIUM just in time for Hurricane Ian. On one single charge I was able to put up and take down all of my storm shutters...and my next door neighbor's as well. I had to get this High Output XC5.0 Amp Hour version after that experience. These are incredibly long lasting, lightweight lithium ion batteries. This will not only power my M12 Hammer Drill that I used before & after the hurricane, but more power hungry M12 tools like my Shop Blower and my Portable Wet/Dry Vac. We lost power just short of four days. I charged up everything before the hurricane hit, thinking that I would go through all of my batteries. I have a couple Milwaukee heated sweatshirts that I love and use every single day. The sweatshirts came in a kit with a RedLithium CP2.0 12v, 2ah battery. I wanted a bigger battery that would last my whole work shift instead of just switching out my 2x 2ah batteries when one dies. I was debating weather or not I should order it because I didn't want anything too bulky. I decided to just give it a shot and I'm glad I did. The bottom base of the battery has a soft rubber that grips the surface wherever you set it down. You can place it on an un-level surface and it will not move. Another nice thing about this bigger battery is I will use it with my M12 heated gear adapter and DC adapters to charge my cell phone, GPS, tablet, and other portable devices when my power bank dies. This battery is compatible with the Milwaukee 12v line-up. I already have an 18v tool collection but will be starting my 12v collection now that I have a few batteries. This battery also comes with a 3 year warranty. If you have Milwaukee 12v tools or heated gear I suggest you get this battery. I love the longer runtime.

The M12 upgrades seem to avoid larger battery bodies (at least in this case of the XC 5.0 a/h batteries). This is important because my M12 tools are power ratchets and impact wrenches and working in and around vehicles sometimes working space is at a premium. It's a bit surprising at first - you tend to think that the tool broke. There are no "memory" issues with these new batteries either, so you can run them down and charge them without worry. They've come a long, long way from those old NiCad batteries.I don't have a "run time" on the new XC 5.0 battery - I've not had a job tough enough on hand to run the thing out of power. I've been able to place it in the tool and forget about it. The battery comes with a minimal charge - you'll probably want to charge it up before using it the first time. No charger comes with this battery pack, it's strictly the battery. Milwaukee claims a "74 minute" charge time on the battery; that must be from an absolutely drained state - my charge times, so far, have all been under an hour.It's rated for "all weather" performance. It's not winter here yet, so I've not tested it under cold / snowy conditions. In temps from 40 – 60 degrees it’s doing just fine.The battery comes with a 3-year warranty and works with any M12 Milwaukee tool. Home Depot offers a 90-day return warranty.

There isn't much to say, this battery is OEM and fits all M12 Milwaukee tools. The design is that of a 4.0 Ah battery, a tad longer at the end, and no deeper extending out of the tool in comparison. It preforms well, as expected, and has 25% more capacity than 4.0 Ah batteries. Milwaukee has a wide range of M12 tools, prefer them for their compactness and light weight, smaller size batteries hgelp. I also use M18 tools, have a place on the job, too. M18's so far come with with higher battery capacities.
