Amazing little gadget! Niche user base
I absolutely LOVE this iPad! I only paid $359+ tax! I got it when the new iPad Air came out in September. It is now mid-October, so I have been using & loving the device for about 6 weeks! When I purchased the device, it was part of a sale on the mini for $399 from $499. I then got an additional $40 off because I chose the “renewed” version, for the total price of $359! It came in the exact same apple box with all components. The iPad is perfect! No scratches, easy to hold, fast, light, and portable. I love that it use USB-C like the iPad Pros and most other devices these days.I would not pay $499 (the typical asking price) for this product. For $399 or less, it is a fantastic deal! It is definitely a niche product for people who want a smaller device. I love it ... MoreI absolutely LOVE this iPad! I only paid $359+ tax! For $399 or less, it is a fantastic deal! It is definitely a niche product for people who want a smaller device. I love it for streaming, email, reading, and general internet browsing. (TIP! Whenever new apple products come out or if there is a holiday sale, the prices of their products drop DRAMATICALLY! I only buy iPads/laptops on sale. These sales are extremely consistent and predictable.)I used to have the iPad mini 4, but by 2022 it was too slow to do any meaningful browsing. I much prefer browsing on my iPad mini 6 vs. my iPhone 13 or my MacBook Air. It is light, fits my hands well, is enough screen to stream and read, and the browsing is FAST! I highly recommend this device to anyone looking for an additional iPad for recreational purposes. Something to note is that the finger scanner button is on the top right of the device and the volume buttons are on the top left of the device.I will note that I also have a regular ipad 9th generation that I use with a folio keyboard case that was provided by the school I work at. I teach special education. I could not do any lesson planning or “work” on my iPad mini. I consider my mini strictly a recreational device.Someone with larger hands or who prefer a larger screen may prefer the cheaper 9th generation iPad which starts at $329 as their daily device (eg. My dad), or if you need something faster and lighter with more technological features, the new iPad Air which starts at $699, might be for you (eg. Student, software engineer, trader, architect). I will also note that I am impressed with how well the regular ipad 9th generation has held up with rigorous daily use for my work.Although the $329 price is appealing, the ipad 9th generation is wayyyy too large and heavy for me to use as a personal device! I use it strictly for work- eg. lesson planning and taking data. I am always excited to go home and do my personal browsing on my adorable iPad mini 6 :) I have the purple color which comes out as a bit more of a grey, as you can see in the pics.... Show more

An excellent companion... for certain use cases
As an owner of an iPad Pro since they first launched, I never really saw a need to own *another* iPad. I mean, you have your phone for everything portable, and the big iPads to do more serious stuff. However, I found that as time went on, another device needed to fill in the gap for things that needed a bigger screen yet still needed to be more portable. Enter the iPad Mini.I found the Mini to be a perfect use case for me in terms of jotting notes down - don't get me wrong I can type out a pretty big list of things on my phone, but using the Apple Pencil and an app like Notability make for a great experience as a way to organize and maintain notes. This could be interpreted as just a really expensive notebook, yes.In other factors, I have found that the mini ... The screen is pretty good, though not as good as the amazing miniLED display of my iPad Pro 12.9", but still good, and the stereo speakers are pretty good. The "jelly" scroll effect that you hear about for me is not something that bothers me, as I am mostly writing instead of scrolling up and down all the time. The only slight weakness I have found is the battery life, but that is an acceptable tradeoff given its size. If I had to, I definitely could use this for normal iPad duty - watching TV/movies , email, internet, etc.... Show more

Good size, but a few negatives. "Value" not there.
I really like the mini ipads. To me they are the perfect size. With that said I've owned the ipad mini 2, ipad mini 4, and recently ipad mini 6. I tend to skip some generations as I don't feel the need to upgrade all the time. The previous models were work horses and provided me many hours of entertainment in games and videos. This ipad 6 is similar. I really love the size, and the weight of the product. The ipad mini 4 had the front bottom circular button, and the on/off switch on the top right hand corner of this device is reminiscent of that.I do like the touch ID. It's an awesome addition and easy to use. What I do not care for is the volume button on the top left hand corner. I did prefer the old location of it on the left hand side of the ipad. But I do ... It's an awesome addition and easy to use. What I do not care for is the volume button on the top left hand corner. I did prefer the old location of it on the left hand side of the ipad. But I do understand that the apple pencil probably needed the left side to be empty. What I don't appreciate is the "value" put on this product. When I purchased the Ipad Mini 4, it was around the 400 range. Now this device is 650. The data did double from 128gb to 256gb, but still, 256gb is awful knowing that we can get 256gb micro sd cards for like 20 bucks. I wouldn't have minded the price tag IF the device worked well and the quality was good, but it doesn't and it isn't. There are a few issues with both software and build quality.1. The jelly scroll everyone talks about, while not a huge issue, I don't think it should be that noticeable on this device. I compared both the ipad mini 4 and this ipad mini 6 side by side, and it was significantly worse on the ipad mini 6.2. When I have the screen off and press on the screen, there's a screen pressure distortion that is quite noticeable. I had actually purchased two ipad mini 6 and the other one I had to return because the screen distortion spots were really bad. they showed up with the slightest pressure.3. I don't know if anyone even uses the "today" column anymore. It's the column that comes up when you left swipe the home page. You can put a bunch of apps on it. But it is glitchy. I called Apple and tried to figure out why it's glitching and how to fix it but honestly they said the "today" column should've been removed and was a remnant of an older iOS when we couldn't use widgets on the home screen. Which makes sense to me, it does seem sort of redundant with the ability to put widgets on the home screen. Yet... this "feature" is still there last I checked with iOS 15.6.1.4. As I used this device more, I noticed sometimes when I had the keyboard sound on, the keyboard sound would be extremely loud and then soften as I type more with it. At first I thought it was me, and I had left the sound on extremely loud, but no. It wasn't me. It was either the sound board malfunctioning or the software being weird.I do really like the ipad mini 6 for, size, portability, ease of use. The build quality has taken a hit though, I'm not sure if it's due to covid and supply shortages or what. But Apple needs to keep up its game and not let quality slip. I put I recommend this item, but only because of the positives I stated.... Show more

Great if you want small, buy iPad 9 if you don’t
There’s a lot I like about the iPad Mini and a few things I don’t. I liked that it’s super fast in games like Roblox, it hardly ever lags when I’m playing it. The size is really nice because it’s like a medium sized book so that’s nice, especially for typing in portrait/landscape and games. The stereo (top and bottom) speakers and screen are pretty good. The battery life lasts like 8-9 hours for videos, books, Safari but for large games (Roblox lol) it goes faster at more like 5-6. Supposedly it can magnetically attach the Apple Pencil 2 to the side but I didn’t buy one. It also has a camera flash. However, the things I’m not thrilled about are the in-real-life very pale Pink color, and low storage option for my price range. So far, though, I downloaded like 12 ... So far, though, I downloaded like 12 games, social media, shopping etc. and I’m at 21/64GB, and I know I won’t have much photos on it like my phone does. If need be, you can offload apps you use rarely but keep the data files. Also, it doesn’t have a haptic vibration which sorta sucks. In conclusion, I would definitely buy the iPad Mini if you know you want a small tablet, but if you don’t care either way just get the iPad 9 and save $200. For me, though, the size is great and has a few extra features so I got this one.... Show more

Great small form factor tablet
A great portable tablet. I ultimately returned it and got an iPad Air version 5 instead, only because I'm getting older, I need to use reading glasses and it was too much of a strain to use the smaller screen that this tablet has. The Air has a few advantages the come from the faster M1 processor, but I think for 95% of the population, they don't need those features. Almost no one needs a Pro ipad. Otherwise, the experience of the Mini is the same. Screen looks great, it is as fast as you want. If you're used to using your phone for everything, having a screen that has around twice the area as the phone will be a revelation. If you're a computer/ laptop person, the smaller screen might not be enough for you. The Mini is as light as a feather, super thin, it fits in ... MoreA great portable tablet. You can use the latest version of the Apple Pencil with it for sketching and taking notes, correcting photos etc. Most people "recommend" getting the 256GB storage version, but with the ability to store your things (media, files etc) in the cloud and the ubiquity of fast internet, you don't need that storage on the device. Save your money. Mine was an open box in "Excellent" condition. It was literally the same as new, minus the wrap that comes on a new iPad. The battery only had 3 charge cycles on it.... Show more

Great Tablet for Note Taking
This is a great tablet, especially if you're familiar with iOS. But coming from Android, there are quite a few differences in iOS that make me appreciate Android more. The big differences that I don't think get enough mention are: thr iOS filesystem which sandboxes each apps storage and makes it difficult for apps to access the same data (like using cloud sync apps that can be edited with Obsidian which i like to keep offline). Next would be the very aggressive battery saving, which makes apps stop syncing or doing background tasks once I go to the home screen or any other app. I also thought there would be a workaround to be able to cast to Google speakers, but other than bluetoothing into the speakers individually, I haven't found a way. Finally, the lack of a universal back button, as seen in android, can make using apps feel very inconsistent. Some apps put their back button in the top left (a pretty poor design choice to me), or its a swipe from the left to go back. Despite this, the iPad mini does nail a lot of things like smooth performance, great battery life, great speakers, bright screen and the excellent note taking experience with the Apple Pencil 2 (highly recommended). Overall, I think it's a great device once you understand the quirks of iOS.... Show more

The solid battery life further cements its spot as a reliable everyday companion. One glaring omission, however, is the lack of cellular connectivity. Being restricted to Wi-Fi can be limiting for users who wish to remain connected on-the-go. This is an area where some Android tablets may edge out the iPad Mini. The open-box condition, surprisingly, didn't affect the product’s functionality. In fact, it functioned remarkably well, proving Apple's commitment to quality. In conclusion, the iPad Mini, with its unrivaled user experience and spectacular performance, is a substantial upgrade over many Android tablets. The iPad for tablet connoisseurs
I have owned iPad Minis since the first came out and have always appreciated them for their portability and ease of use due to their size. The Mini has always been my go to iPad.
