Miramat - 200cm x 120cm - Extra Large Exercise and Yoga Mat

I needed an exercise mat that would not slip and slide on tiles and this definitely stays in place during various workouts I do which can vary between doing yoga to HIIT. Doing poses like downward dog, the mat stays in place (some mats I've used previously you can feel the material stretching, making it feel like you're sliding) and is grippy on the hands and feet too. The larger size of the mat is also great, so I feel confident moving around on it. Some floor exercises can still be a bit too firm, but I understand that there is a breaking in period so I'm still working on that :)

I absolutely love this mat! It is well worth the money too. I have gone through so many other exercise mats that just end up ripping off the top rubber layer - this one is perfect with no chance of it happening. I do HIIT & kickboxing workouts on this mat (therefore a lot of foot movements) and it has not even marked it. It is easily rolled up and put away when not in use. I thought about buying this for too long - if you're thinking about it, don't delay!

I've bought (admittedly much cheaper) mats in the past before, but they slipped around on our hard floor with any movement, which totally defeated the purpose. I was seriously thrilled when I used this mat for the first time and it didn't slide one tiny bit. The noise of my un-graceful jumping also sounds a lot more muffled, to me at least, and I'm hoping that's the case for the unit downstairs too. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone thinking about investing in a decent exercise mat! Thanks Miramat :)

Love the size of the mat - always hated how a regular yoga mat is too small for a lot of mobility movements and this size fixes that problem. It comes with straps to keep it rolled up but it's definitely more a mat to just unroll and leave in one place given it's size and weight. But if you do need to move it then it is moveable. It lies perfectly flat which I love (no rolled up end!). I do find it's a bit slippery when my hands and feet get a bit sweaty compared to my old yoga mat. If you intend to have it on a hard surface then it's not particularly padded so may still need something soft to go under your knees for kneeling work (but I find I need this for most mats). Doesn't tend to move around the floor which is great. I do around 90 minutes on them every single day - a combination of floor work and dance cardio; the floor work is very dynamic and involves moving around a lot on hands and knees most of the time. Being fairly tall, I found that one mat was not quite wide enough for my style of usage, so I bought a second mat. When I do my dance cardio I place the mats exactly on top of each other and this creates the most excellent cushioning effect over what is effectively a concrete slab under a thin carpet. Since I have been doing this these mats have done a fantastic job of saving more precious carpet fibres from wearing out and creating an even a worse friction patch (which I'd started to create long before I got these). The mats smelled faintly of peaches when they were first unwrapped - not at all unpleasant like some rubber matting can be, but some guidelines on the sort of recommended cleaning products to use on the wrapper would be good, as the packaging simply said to clean down before use, but not with what. Besides this, pretty much the only negative is that they are actually quite heavy and if you can't leave them set up this can be annoying because they are cumbersome to move and if you store them rolled the edges will always remain a touch curled up which makes them more of a slight tripping hazard. Overall though, I'm very very happy this these, there is no surface wear/shredding damage at all so far and your feet and hands can grip really well when planking etc. I would definitely recommend getting one of these mats for yourself if you are serious about your exercise... It would also make a great & thoughtful gift for a fellow fitness junkie!

We have been looking for a suitable mat for our home gym for a while, have tried cheaper alternatives in the meantime and now we have Miramat I wish we had done so sooner! Great size, cushioning is as described and it doesn’t move while working out. Soft enough to support your body for floor exercises yet sturdy enough to protect the floor from our free weights. We use these mats for Apple+ fitness workouts and they are a very similar size to what the coaches use. Very happy with this purchase and definitely recommend.

I use Miramat extra large exercise and yoga mat for jumping rope and it has been a great experience so far. Skipping rope does not seem to damage the surface and mat protects the skipping rope from damage. It gives that required added cushioning to minimise any foot injuries when jumping rope for extended periods of time on regular bases.Customer service was also very efficient and responded to my queries and sorted them out promptly.Pretty happy with the purchase and recommend the item.
