Cool training mat. Went for the medium sized one - it is huge! Gave it a good clean as per the instructions and have been using it daily, sometimes more than once, for about a month. Although it has worn in a bit and seems a bit grippier, it is not quite as grippy as I was hoping. Also not so keen on the feel of the textured surface under my hands (I am accustomed to a nice smooth grippy yoga mat that I have used for years up until this recent purchase). I have it on carpet in a space that it only just fits and find that it shifts around a lot, often bunching up. Don't get me wrong, it is great in a larger space on smooth, hard ground. Just not ideal for the space I have. If I was to purchase again, I would go for the smallest size for the space I have, to allow for ... MoreCool training mat. If I was to purchase again, I would go for the smallest size for the space I have, to allow for the shifting of position I find when using the mat on top of carpet. I would recommend this medium sized mat if you have the proper space for it. For now, given the space issues I have with using this mat, I will be going back to my old trusty yoga mat.

Bought the giga for my home gym and couldn’t be happier. The size is perfect for strength workouts and plenty big enough for HIIT. The cushioning is great for floor work, no additional mat needed. I’m considering another three to completely cover my gym floor. Great value and quick, seemless delivery.

Outdoor HIIT and YogascrabbleI have this mat placed outside in the backyard which ai take out when I want to do long sessions of yoga or HIIT training. The mat is great, it is thick enough to provide a flat surface on uneven ground granted there are no big sticks or deep holes that the rubber can’t soften or fill.I do my HIIT training in the may without shoes because of fear of scuffing or bruising the rubber. I can see how extensive burpees or mountain climbers could wear it down but the grip is so good on this mat wearing socks or even barefoot is fine on this mat. Lateral lunges is fine with the size but anything that requires bounding might make you leave the mat.For yoga this mat is a dream. I still lay my normal yoga mat on it as that allows me to keep ... MoreOutdoor HIIT and YogascrabbleI have this mat placed outside in the backyard which ai take out when I want to do long sessions of yoga or HIIT training. The mat is great, it is thick enough to provide a flat surface on uneven ground granted there are no big sticks or deep holes that the rubber can’t soften or fill.I do my HIIT training in the may without shoes because of fear of scuffing or bruising the rubber. I still lay my normal yoga mat on it as that allows me to keep good form but i never have to worry about my yoga mat getting wet or dirty or have to worry about my arms and legs when hanging them off the edge of the yoga mat. The miramat can be completely laid down on without being able to touch the edges. Doing yogay without a yoga mat is still fine but not what I’m after. While your hands or feet won’t skip doing down-dog you will still feel firm pressure on your palms and feet as the miramat is tough. This is completely solved for me with a yoga mat as table-top can hurt my knees if not on a proper yoga mat.The mat cleans easy and if you don’t use shoes can last a long long time. It’s durable for dragging and thick enough to support impact. It’s not soft so you can spring easily with burpees but absorbs enough impact so you don’t damage your joints. It is a great surface to train on and will last years if looked after. The cons are minor but the straps provided to keep the mat rolled up are short so you really need to roll this sucker tight to be able to strap it up. Which is hard to do without another person (but possible). It is also very heavy so I can see myself taking this to my backyard easy but to the park 1km away is not feasible without a car.Photos show a size 9 shoe and standard yoga mat for scale.
