10-inch and 12-inch Skillets

What is not to love! I bought the 10-inch and 12-inch skillets. The 5-ply, 3mm thick steel and aluminum layered construction is as good or better than other top brands (like All-Clad) at a fraction of the price. they offer excellent heat conduction (reached 250 degrees F within 5 minutes). I now set a timer to 4 minutes to preheat my pan before starting to cook in it! As long as you preheat it and then add the oil followed by your food, the food will not stick. Note: when searing a piece of meat, it will grab the bottom of the pan but release to be turned as soon as it is properly seared, this is normal.I love the oval-shaped handle, it helps with grip and leverage without cutting into my hand and it stayed cool during cooking. This skillet is awesome! I am new to cooking with stainless steel skillets due to getting an induction range. In the past, everything I made in a stainless steel pan stuck because I assumed it was like my aluminum pans. Wrong! You have to pre-heat the pan until water droplets roll around the surface like ball bearings. Then you spread your fat, (like butter or oil). Now you can add your food. I cooked 4 eggs that slid around like an ice skater on frozen pond! It was better than a non-stick pan and better than my Calphalon stainless pan. I couldn't be happier with this skillet!

I bought the skillet as a gift for my son-in-law. He loves it! The quality is top-notch. You can feel how heavy the pan is and know that it is excellent quality. The Customer Service was remarkable when he received a duplicate gift and we decided to exchange the skillet for a covered sauce pan. I was allowed to keep the original skillet and receive the new pan by simply paying shipping and the small price difference in the cost of the pans. So now he received both pans as his gift and couldn't be happier! Thanks Misen! He is well on his way to a full set of these great quality pans. I will definitely purchase from Misen again!

Great value. Outstanding skillets

I made the plunge to stainless with a Mison. Their products are outstanding and priced for my budget. Why pay more when I can get this kind of quality at a great price point. The skillet is somewhat heavy. I have no issues with it though. Gives me confidence that this skillet will last. The bottom is flat and somewhat wider than the other pans I have, due to the way the sides go up. This is awesome. I have to feed 4 and the extra cooking surface is nice. The skillet heats up evenly. I cooked chicken breast and all pieces cooked even and browned nicely no matter where they sat in the skillet. Cleanup is easy. I clean by hand. I cooked an egg and it didn't stick with a tiny bit of oil. Nothing sticks as long as I heat the skillet before adding meat, etc. This is ... MoreI made the plunge to stainless with a Mison. I am very happy with them

I've been looking for new cookware as my old copper bottom set (older than I am!) has needed replacing. I ordered the 10 & 12 inch combo. These are solid pans and heat evenly. When you know how to prep stainless steel they are easy to clean. In the pictures I made scrabbled eggs for the kids, after a few minutes with water in the pan it was easy to clean with a dish cloth without scrubbing, then I made omelettes. Nothing stuck with those. This are heavier than my old 3 ply but not nearly as heavy as my cast iron. The only possible reason I can think of not to get them would be if the weight bothers you for the larger pan as there is only 1 handle. Otherwise. I love that the handles don't get hot and I see being able to give these to my kids when they are grown ... MoreI've been looking for new cookware as my old copper bottom set (older than I am!) has needed replacing. Ive had family members curse stainless steel but these same family members are surprised I make omelets in cast iron pans too.Im more of a cook than a chef, no formal training, I guess Im just lucky food's subjective but cookwear isnt as much IMHO.The 10 inch 5 layer skillet is nice as long as you treat it as a valued tool, tools can bite you if you dont treat them right. Bring it up to your cooking heat or a little higher, apply your slip agent of choice and may the force be with you.My first test was a fried egg, no issues and it poured/slid it right out of the pan using Avocado oil. Since it hasnt left the cooktop. The lack of a decent looking lid has created a bit of a quest as I do simmer in my larger pans with intention of retaining more moisture when not ... MoreIve had family members curse stainless steel but these same family members are surprised I make omelets in cast iron pans too.Im more of a cook than a chef, no formal training, I guess Im just lucky food's subjective but cookwear isnt as much IMHO.The 10 inch 5 layer skillet is nice as long as you treat it as a valued tool, tools can bite you if you dont treat them right. Since it hasnt left the cooktop. The lack of a decent looking lid has created a bit of a quest as I do simmer in my larger pans with intention of retaining more moisture when not reducing. This I realized prior to purchase, the quest continues while utilizing one of my cast iron lids.Beyond the lack of a lid even heat distribution looks to be creaping in as the pan is wanting to go bowl at a slow rate. Kinda like cast iron and people that have no patience while cooking crank up the heat and warp the cast iron yet not to the same extreme. My glass top cooking surface shows a spinner as soon as it warps and this pan is now slightly warped, not terrible but for delicate heat distribution not the best.At its price point its a little below what utility I might have expected without a lid and showing signs of warping at a month in. Being a 5 layer with a stainless steel exterior its a wonder at this price as well, so without long term use I cant do much better than 8 out of 10 stars, 5 star is just too narrow band spectrum IMHO. Hows a rating on the rating process for ya! HeheheheLooking at the price of the competition and if it werent for glass tops and the lack of a nice lid I suggest this 10/11 inch 5 layer stainless skillet all day long, in the real world few things are perfect just like this pan.

Love it!

This pan is fantastic. I watched the YouTube videos on how to tell when the pan was hot enough, because there were absolutely no instructions, warranty papers or anything else in the box. Rather disappointed in that. Misen should do better. The pan is light enough for my wonky wrists and does provide a beautiful sear on my chicken. I don’t eat red meat so I can’t comment on steaks etc.I love how quickly it sautés my veggies and I’ve made just about everything else in it. One exception- even with proper heating and a bit of oil spray- I cooked one egg and it was a disaster. No sliding around in the pan as in the video. So I’ll use my smaller pan for that. I might even buy the 8” SS pan in a bit. Not cheap, but you can tell by looking at these that they are well ... MoreThis pan is fantastic. The sides are high enough to hold a lot of food, which is helpful when I make my Italian chicken dish. Clean up is a breeze if I soak or spray the pan with Mrs Meyers, which is my go-to cleaner. Highly recommend this pan.

The Finest We've Ever Owned!

The first thing you'll notice is the weight. It's not cumbersome like an iron skillet, but its weight is confidence inspiring. You sense you're holding something special. The next thing you'll notice is the impeccable craftsmanship. It's beautifully manufactured, and the rounded, comfortable handle never gets hot.We cook on an induction range. Its heat tends to heat other pans mostly in a 7 inch central circle. So, as you might imagine, cooking can be a bit uneven. I cooked pancakes in my new Misen skillet, and voila! The pancake was evenly browned from center to edge. I noticed the same when cooking two grilled-cheese sandwiches. When I flipped them, they were very close to evenly browned all over. That NEVER happened with our old pans.As for cleaning, I was ... MoreThe first thing you'll notice is the weight. It's not cumbersome like an iron skillet, but its weight is confidence inspiring. In most cases, using a green combination scrubber/sponge, it cleans almost effortlessly. For burned-on messes, a half-hour of soaking in hot soapy water makes it come off in a snap.My wife and I are both extremely happy with our 12 inch Misen skillet!

The best pans I've ever used
14 October 2022

These pans are outstanding, very well made with a riveted handle. I've used the largest one to fry pork chops and it did an terrific job. The bottom of the pan is heavy and absolutely flat. It heats very evenly all the way to the edge and cooked the chops is less time on a lower heat setting than any other pan I've ever used. While it isn't a non-stick pan, cleanup was easy; most everything just brushed out with hot water and a Mr. Clean pad took care of any stubborn spots. Wash with soap, rinse, dry and you're done. You can buy these pans with confidence.

great skillet!
4 December 2022

I have purchased a couple of stainless steel pans in the past. Since I have a glass stovetop, I needed a pan that was flat. Misen is perfectly flat. It also is a bit heavier than most pans as it is 5 ply. This is great for my purposes as it doesn't easily slide around, which could scratch the burner surface. It performs very well and is quite non stick when you follow the preheating instructions. My first meal was skin on boneless chicken breasts with vegetables and a white wine pan sauce. The chicken browned nicely and the skin remained intact during cooking, easily releasing from the pan after searing. I love this pan.
