Crate&Barrel is my go to for any of the appliances. They are top-notch and work very well. When the soft serve ice cream machine came out of course I needed it. Had a party and surprised our guest with soft serve ice cream for the dessert. It worked really well they got into the Sprinkles also. There laughter was contagious. The soft serve ice cream machine is all that it says it is and the price was also very reasonable. I can’t wait for the next surprise machine that will be coming out because I guarantee you I will be right on it.

I saw this ice cream machine on Sam’s website and then looked further into information on the Cuisanart site. It was quite a bit less cost to buy it at Sam’s so I decided to give it a try. I made two batches so far, vanilla and chocolate, and they’re both good! I can’t use all the ice cream at once so I freeze what’s leftover and scoop it out later. I did my second batch differently than the first patch by mixing the ingredients and refrigerating them for a few hours before mixing the ice cream. The overall design is nice.The dispensers for the add ins are great.It operates quietly.There is one huge caveat --- it doesn't work as advertised.Following the instructions, all it does is chill the mix a little bit. It is not cold enough to solidify the ingredients even when the mix is kept refrigerated for 24 hours and the bowl is frozen for 72 hours. The ice cream soup is very tasty, but it isn't practical to put in a cone.The only way I found to make it do what it claims is to leave the milk/cream/sugar mix in the freezer and let it harden most of the way before adding it to the bowl.Good concept, flawed execution.

I tried this today and all inall I'm pleased with it. I had difficulty adding the ice cream mix to the machine as I am short ,(a footstall remedied this)Also I personally would have preferred the.instructions to be listed rather than spread through the book.. but what I dud like about it was the recipe book which is much appreciated. The machine was quiet in operation. I chilled the ingredients before using and was extremely pleased with the ready tobest result. The ice cream was soft yet holding its shape. I didnt test the sprinkle accessory as we don't have any children living with us now. As I have made ife cream before I used my own recipe and it turned out well . It was easy to dismantle and clean. I'm looking forward to making zirish cream ice cream next
This is a super fun machine that with a few tweaks, would be perfect! It’s lightweight & easy to assemble, store, & move around. Making the ice cream did come w/ a big learning curve. The first few times the machine wouldn’t dispense the product because it was too hard. It’s difficult to time when everything is at the best consistency, but you get a feel for it eventually, even though the optimal window is pretty quick. While you can just scoop the ice cream out if you do over-churn it, it’s not easy. You either leave the frozen bowl in the top of the machine, making it awkward to scoop, or you take the bowl out. However, there is a hole in the bottom, so it just melts on the countertop & makes a mess. I never realized how five ingredients and about 30 minutes would change my outlook on dessert. The machine is simple to put together and get ready for use, and as long as you have the bucket in the freezer ahead of time, you can put your ingredients together and then pour them immediately into the bucket and switch it on. I love having the toppings on the side and being able to add them in as I open the spigot for the ice cream to come out. I had some initial trouble with the top clicking on and getting the stirrer out when the ice cream was done, but it’s really a matter of getting used to the machine. I have been experimenting with this machine for the past month and am honestly so impressed. The ice cream is every bit as good as the traditional ice cream van Mr Whippy style, and the mix is very easy and cost effective to put together. The sorbet recipes in the booklets are also a great foundation for. more experimental flavours. I have piped some ice cream into a reusable tub as we made a little too much and it was still great a day or two later. The sprinkles and sauce dish are the highlight for the kids, it turns it into a really fun experience for the whole family and I can't wait for the summer!
