This jersey with the dual layer not only makes it comfortable to wear but with the outer layer makes its warmth unsurpassed. The ruggedness of the jersey makes it ideal for all outdoor activities plus smart enough to wear to any pub. I am in the process of breaking in my 4th one. The other three have been re-purposed as a greatful dogs blanket. The other great thing about these jerseys is the price. I have also found that if you turn them inside out you can wear them twice as long!

Taking note of other reviews I can double-down on comments of how functional this jersey is. Its debut in a brisk southerly while raining was the ultimate test. Underneath I had one long sleeve tee and was comfortable warm. Indoors or out I'm comfy warm - so yes, I'm practically living in it. Addressing the collar comments: it has function and form. When you're warm inside when its cold outside it's function, you don't care what it looks like, it's there to add to your comfort. Form wise, it's just a collar. Seriously considering getting a second one in a different colour so I've got a farm/work one and a casual one.

I like the appearance and material of the jumper. As I bought it on-line, I wasn't able to try it on, and was very uncertain what size to buy. I take a L in shirt sizes. I wanted a jumper that I could wear a warm flannel shirt + t-shirt underneath, which led me to consider an XL. However various websites suggested that for this jumper you go down a size ... while some reviews warned of shrinkage which meant going up a size. I ended up ordering an XL. This size is big in the body and arms on me ... but it can certainly cover clothes underneath, and allow for some shrinkage. Had I been able to try it on I would probably have purchased an L. ... I like the jumper. My only complaint is the uncertainty I had wrt sizing.

This is the fifth Tasman sweater I have bought. I can wear these outside in Montana in the winter most of the time without a coat. They are a great product that I discovered in New Zealand while visiting my sister there several years ago.The service from MKM is also first rate…a lot of times I get the sweater from New Zealand faster than I get something ordered from the East Coast of the USA. The last order came in just over a week!
I live in it all year round, in the summer I put it on in the evenings, in the winter I put it on in the morning. We live in Canterbury and I wear it on our block, fencing, general farm work, feeding out, gardening, to rugby, fishing, camping, inside, to the shops, pretty much all the time. If its a bit wet I put a jacket on over top and I know I am going to be good. The collar is big but is perfect for keeping the back of my neck warm. The inner layer is soft and not itchy. It resist wind far more than a traditional wool jersey while still being breathable. I never get the stuffy feeling I used to get with polyester type jerseys. I am amazed at how it keeps me at a comfortable temperature just sitting around or when doing a bit of work. After 2 years of everyday use my elbows are starting to wear, but the rest of the jersey looks like the day I got it. I wore it fishing in the weekend, was getting a bit dirty so it got a wash, I spent the day waiting for it to dry, looks like new again and its back on my back. Hands down the best jersey I have ever had. Bought one for my wife, brother and father in law, they haven't taken theirs off either. Obviously a fan and highly recommend.
Top layer coming off-very disappointed
Alot of thought and wool innovation design have gone into this garment. Its superbly comfortable and warm with its merino possum lining and fits well. The collar cuts the wind and cold well. Looks like it will hold up to bit hard living on the hill but time will tell. It's become my go-to, outdoors and around town this winter. Highly recommended kit for anyone who appreciates quality, looks and performance in gear.
Love these Jerseys. I bought my first one 5years ago, getting a little tatty on the elbows but it still keeps me warm as toast. I just bought my second one last month . This one is for good wearing until the first one die’s. I also just purchased another one and sent it to my Son in London for Christmas. It is winter there now he will Love it 🥰.I would love to see the making of these. Kind of a double layer. Soft yet hard wearing wool on out side and fully knitted possom fur knitted on the inside. Amazing how they merge both fabrics together. Extremely clever, and also extremely hard wearing. I would mark these jerseys 100% out of 75%.
Previously had the MKM Windbreaker. After wearing that constantly for 3 years and having to patch the elbows it was time to upgrade to the Tasman. This jumper is even warmer but the elbows are going on this one as well. I put this to poor posture at a desk job that is pretty tough on the elbows so don't take this as a negative. I love this jumper so much that I've just ordered a new Tasman and an Extreme. Maybe I'll preserve the elbows in retirement. Really looking forward to the Extreme in the Tassie highlands when the Trout season starts up. Thanks MKM for some great gear!
Obsessed with this jumper. Incredible quality, beautifully warm, classy and tough. Much like myself!Highly recommend this to anyone thinking of buying. I bought for my husband for Christmas and wear it all the time myself. Will be investing in one my size! He loves it when he gets a chance to wear it.
