Mobi Maths Game

$22.95

(27 reviews)

Mobi is a simple and fun math game that requires no pencil, paper or board - just a flat surface and Mobi tiles. To play, separate all the blue (number) tiles from the white (operation) tiles and make sure all the number tiles are face down. Take up to 7 number tiles and start building your own "crossword" of equations, adding operation tiles as needed. When all of your number tiles are gone, yell FLIP and grab 3 more number tiles; the rest of the players will do the same. If you can't use one of your number tiles, yell "SWAP" and put the number tile back in the pile, and take 2 blue tiles to replace it. Once all the blue tiles are gone, the first person to finish their "crossword" yells "MOBI!" If all of their equations are correct, they are the winner. Great for all ages 7 and up, this game can be played by 1-6 players, with variations to make the game more easy or more complex. Comes in a blue whale pouch that is terrific for travel, plus holds 162 tiles and instructions.

Not only is this a great game, but I have found it so handy for teaching my 6yr old granddaughter simple maths that she finds so easy to comprehend when she can move the tiles around to make different number combinations. Definitely a good educational game that I can see becoming a favourite with all of my grandchildren.

My 4year old grandson loves this & I love how easily he learns. We keep the pod sizes moderately small to accommodate his attention, otherwise he starts to make 4yo rules. He is quick w adding & subtracting so far; it will be easy to add the multiplication & division functions in a few months.

The Grommett always has the most interesting items. I bought five of the Numerical Tile Games for my grandchildren. The tile game is much more than a game.It promotes thought, analysis, and most importantly, communication and healthy interactions.

Different but fun!
10 March 2019

So, I thought this would be a nice alternative to board or card games. Played with two others the first time. We all thought"Heck, this will be so easy!" And while it's not hard, it's not easy to win either. Got competitive pretty quick. Can't play for hours, but a couple of games was fun.

For Christmas

I bought them for Christmas presents this year; The great nephews/niece got something from Fat Brain last year that was a hit so trying again. I expect these will be great, too! I like educational toys for children.

Fun Family Game
11 October 2021

Our grandchild struggles with math so I’m hoping that by playing this game with family, it will take away the intimidation of numbers. Tiles are well made, no sharp edges, but the bag, although cute, is too small. I will be making a larger one.

Great Idea
30 April 2019

I love the Mobi tiles and the game sounds fun, though we haven't gotten a chance to play yet.I did notice that I can take the two bags out of the whale bag, with a bit of effort, but they don't go back in very easily. I wish the bag either was bigger and had two compartments or was just bigger so I could put the two different bags back in with ease. I imagine that, as small as the bag is, we'd either have to put them back all loose and divide them out every time (not my favorite) or have to end up abandoning the cute whale bag and go with something that can hold the two sets of tiles separately without the struggle to get them back into a too small container. Excited to start playing and will add to review later.

Great choice!!!
8 December 2018

I bought this item for my grandson. He is in kindergarten and will help him prepare for future math. The division and multiplication may be a bit too difficult at his level right now, but I'm very pleased it is also included for future use. He loves puzzles and I know he will love this item. He also loves a challenge! This was a for sure buy for me when I first saw it!! Thank you Grommet for another great gift idea!!!

Great for holiday gifts

Three generations play for hours with this game. When we first opened it and read the directions, there was much discussion about it being too difficult, but when we began, everyone was able to participate excitedly. The youngest, five, made exponential growth in her number skills just by playing, and the seven-year-old, after his usual frustration with anything new, dove in. When the rest finally tired, he took the game to the corner of the table and continued playing alone. The element of competition is fun and bonding, but the way it is set up, everyone participates at their own skill level, and it's possible to see how far you can go on your own. This game makes numbers fun--and I'm not a number person. My daughter says the tiles are out all the time and that ... MoreThree generations play for hours with this game. Great for practicing math
8 January 2019

Most of the time, we play together, much like Scrabble. Sometimes, my 8-year-old niece (the receiver of this gift) plays by herself and combines all the pieces together. The best part is that every time, all the tiles can be used and that there are enough tiles with - and +, as the numbers are only up to 12 and thus one does not do a lot of multiplying and dividing.
