Great oil - have used it for years

I have used Mobil 1 for years in all of my vehicles and have never had any issues with it. Mobil 1 Extended Performance is supposedly rated up to 20K miles, but I don't feel comfortable going that long without an oil change, so I change it, along with the filter, after about 7500 miles - works great. And I rotate my tires at the same time. Oh, and thanks for the rebate - that really helps us working folks to be able to afford purchasing this fine oil in these very difficult economic times. If not for the rebate, I might just be forced to buy a lower quality oil. fjb

It was Amazon for Pete sake. How can they not be a participating vendor. Anyways I like this oil because I feel good using a Exxon product. My daughters Subaru Outback likes it because it burns less between oil changes. A few dollars more, sure but if I bring it to jiffy lube or one of the other retailers. Who is to know what they use. Oil consumption says it all for me.

MOBIL 1 - DON'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT
3 October 2022

Mobil 1 has kept the engines in my cars running like new and my cars are not new. I'm a car guy and maintain 8 vehicles with Mobil 1 for me and my family (six drivers). This includes a van, five SUVs, a sedan and a high performance sports car. Years range from 2001 to 2015 and odometers range from 35k to 250k. No engine failures, oil leaks, or burning of oil. If for some reason and oil change is extended due to the vehicle being remote than this is the oil you want in that engine, I never worry about Mobil 1 letting me down because I've used it for over 25 years.I'm a F1 fan and my favorite team also uses Mobil1

Changed to Mobile 1 and got an additional 1-1.5k miles/oil change.Am now over 70, pay an additional $13,00 to have someone else change and dispose of the oil, but during this entire time have NEVER had an engine-related failure. Just bought a 2020 Ford Edge (attention span isn't what I once had and felt I needed the new safety features). My old Ford will probably go to a family member or someone in need of reliable transportation.Bottom line: As long as the price isn't ridiculous, I will stick with Mobil 1 - nothing I have tried matches their performance.

I change the oil once per year myself, engine still consumes no oil 9 years 78k mi later. Engine runs like new, 4cyl mode & all. 32 mpg at 70 mph. GM was right, Mobil1 5w-30. Thank you & Don't change a thing guys.

Synthetic oil

This is a quality synthetic oil but I don't agree with how much time and mileage it say you should change it. You should always change your oil every 4-5 thousand miles and even if you don't do a lot of mileage you should change it a least every 6 months. I have have seen first hand that if you follow mobile 1 extended oil and only change every 12 thousand miles the oil gets baked on internal parts of the engine. CHANGING YOUR OIL IS BETTER AND CHEAPER THAN REPLACING A ENGINE. You should not cheap out on engine oil. It is the lifeblood of your cars engine. If you do the right maintenance you can easily get 300 thousand miles out of a modern engine. Also another thing I want people to know is that every hour of a idling in your car is equal to doing about 25 miles. ... MoreThis is a quality synthetic oil but I don't agree with how much time and mileage it say you should change it. So if you have a remote start or are waiting for someone idling it does add up over time.

The “Gold-Standard” of Extended Synthetic Oil!

What can I say…… I’ve been using Mobil synthetic oil for over 40 Years (!) and have had nothing but success with it. This new Extended Performance version allows me to go up to 20,000 miles or One year on a single oil change (Follow your manufacturers recommended oil change schedule listed in the owners manual). Imagine only having to have your oil changed once a year instead of the normal 3 or 4 times a year! Not only will you like the convenience of a yearly oil change, you’ll probably like what it does for your engine. This oil will not only save you money on gas because of the synthetic properties, but it will also clean up any left over sludge and varnish from the previous oil changes. It’s a win-win!Don’t over think this. It’s a no brained. Go out and pick ... MoreWhat can I say…… I’ve been using Mobil synthetic oil for over 40 Years (!) and have had nothing but success with it. I used this particular oil (extended performance 5w-30) on a 2007 toyota corolla and a 2006 nissan quest van. Different results occurred. The corolla is now at 167k miles and still going strong no engine trouble that I am aware of. On the nissan quest it was a different story though....at 170k miles i noticed significant oil burning and at one time I took it in for an oil change and mechanic said I had only 2 quarts left in the engine. At 210k miles the camshaft bearings gave out and I had to get rid of the van instead of paying over 4k to repair it. Maybe it wasn't the oil as much as it was just the build quality of nissans are not as good as toyotas?? I'm not certain what the real explanation is here. I never ever ever went over 6,000 miles even if it was an extended performance formula and I used the mobil 1 m1-108 oil filter on the nissan all the time. M1-103 on the corolla. We sold the corolla to a relative 6 months ago as-is condition and I haven't heard any issues engine wise from the buyer. The corolla doesn't burn oil and it always passes smog test even at 11 yrs old. Same oil, same viscosity, same extended performance formulation on both vehicles.

My daughter had a 2008 Subaru outback that by design, always used some oil. However a few years ago the timing belt broke and ruined the valves ( another story). after this it smoked and used 1 quart of oil every 1000 miles. I tried everything it just had a lot of blow-by sucking thru the PVC. Just as I was about to give up, the Mobil 1 10w40 oil and the oil usage cut in half. I bought the extended performance oil and she now uses about a quart every 4000miles when I change it. I am not kidding when I say I was looing at rebuilding this motor. at 132000 after getting 2 catalytic converters under the PLEV warrantee of 150,000 miles. Now its as good as new oil consumption wise and im happy to say we have zero converter issues at 174800 miles. Unreal!
