I worked for Mobil and ExxonMobil in their Lubricants and Lubrication Sciences RD for 22 of my 41 years in this line of work. Mobil always had a no compromise attitude about MOBIL 1 engine oils. This one is their Premier Product in the MOBIL 1 engine oil line - you can be guaranteed it is great ! ! !I witnessed two BMW 318i vehicles run on Mobil 1 for over 1 million miles back during the 1990s and when the engines were torn down afterwards, the lubricated parts all appeared actually like brand new - still had the original machining marks ! ! ! Now that is great testament to a great engine oil ! ! !

I was a Mobil dealer when Mobil 1 was introduced and Ive used it ever since. Hands down a fully synthetic oil is a superior product to conventional oil. It stands up to heat better, it flows consistently over a wide temperature range and it lasts longer, much longer. Most people could get by with oil changes being an annual thing rather than several times a year with conventional oil. In that respect it is also more economical. So whats not to love? Mobil lubricants have been quality stuff for more years than Ive been on the planet Im soon to be 74 and Mobil 1 is no exception. Dont fall for thesynthetic blend of some competitors. Thats nothing more than advertising.

2009 Nissan 370z 202,000 miles

I've used mobile 1 since I can remember. My Z just turned 202k. Been running mobil 1 in it since I purchased it with 25k on it. I'm very tentative about how I change oil as well, I drain, refill with new, run it for a few minutes to clean out what's still in the cooler, block & lines etc, because I just don't believe in dropping the plug and draining what's in the pan. Then after it's run with the new oil I drain it and use compressed air thru the oil filter Orpheus to completely rid every drop of oil remaining in the system. People poke fun and say I'm crazy, but they then wonder why my vehicles last ridiculously amounts of mileage never requiring repairs. Ive disassembled engines after running mobile 1 products and am always amazed how clean they appear internally. Laugh all u want about my method, but my odometer always tells the tale and dispells the haters. Mobil 1 products are the ONLY products I will ever use in my vehicles, hands down no question.

756,000 miles on mobile 1

I own a 2000 Toyota Tacoma 3.4L V6 4X4I ordered new and drive 100 miles per day as well as hunting all over the country on the weekends. Not babied, it is in and out of 4 wheel drive about 30 to 40 times thru out the year.I made the switch to synthetic oil at 200,000 miles and made the switch to Mobile 1 shortly after that. I have kept close records and have changed the oil and filter every ten thousand miles where it needed it or not. Starting out with the standard synthetic mobile oil then switched to the extended life mobile one and final settled on the 75,000 mile high milage mobile one when it was introduced. I purchased a used 100 thousand mile engine as a replacement and will be using mobile one synthetic oil products to the end of this engines life.Just thought you would be interested and thanks.

I only use Mobil 1 in my truck, my truck calls for 7 quarts each oil change. auto parts stores charge over $10 per quart. This can be really expensive. There are no case deals anymore. I got 2 cases from BJ'S for under $70, have 5 bottles left for the next oil change. WOW! Best price ever at BJ'S

Excellent, but don’t expect it to last any longer!

Excellent. Works well, but if your engine already eats oil due to age and mileage, don’t expect this oil to suddenly be a “miracle”. That engine is still going to destroy any oil you put in it over the course of time and driving. Mobile 1 is the good stuff, but only if it’s used from day 1 and only if you regularly change the oil and filter and replace worn gaskets with neoprene ones that don’t wear. The mechanics will never tell you that or use them, since it’s an easy way for them to make money.

High Mileage Oil

I've been using your product since it first came out in the 70's. Since introducing your high mileage brand 5w-30 it's been my go to oil for my 03 Subaru Outback. Works extremely well with one exception. (And this includes your regular synthetic oils) I tend to loose about 2 quarts between oil changes. I believe with the lubrication properties of this oil a percentage leaks by the rings and is consumed. I do not have any external leaks and I've had this problem with every car that I've used your oil in. This minor problem is far outweighed by the long lasting mileage I've gotten on all my engines.

Appreciate Autozone allows individual quart purchase or 5 quart jug. My car oil capacity is less than 5 quarts. I don't have experience with any other synthetic motor oil than Mobil 1 and since I feel I have never had an oil related issue, I don't change brand. In the mid 90's I bought a 4 Cyl Volvo Wagon with 85K miles on it. The PCV Flame arrestor was so clogged with oil sludge and engine blow by and oil leaks were extensive. Cleaned the arrestor to solve the issue and used only Mobil 1 for the next 300k miles I drove the car and the PCV flame arrestor was never an issue again.

Switch to full synthetic

Switched to Mobil 1 thinking it may help with blue smoke from tailpipe on startup (at 175,000 miles). Had used name brand conventional motor oil up to that time. Before oil change was due the smoking on startup stopped occurring. My thought is the valve seals apparently softened and sealed better or possibly there was some sludged rings that freed up. Good to this day.

I've been using Mobil 1 motor oil for decades now. I first read of the Mobil1 challenge where they had different folks drive the same car in different conditions switching off every 10k miles. Same oil just a filter change and drain a pint for testing. The oil got better and better with age and the addition of the new ping of oil. It was for a year and like 100k or more.
