I was excited to see a carrier that wasn't super complicated. The weight minimum is 8 lbs for this one, so I had to let my little one grow a bit before I could try it out. The manual has photo instructions for an inward position, outward position (starting at 6 months), and a newborn cradle position. I tried the inward position. Took me a minute to get my baby in the right place, but she seemed to enjoy it. She snoozed while I wondered if I had done everything right since her face seemed a little more covered than I would have liked. Later, I tried the newborn position. I tried, but couldn't get her to fit like in the diagram. I was probably too frazzled to devote the required time to figuring it out. I think this will be great to use once she's a little older. It's definitely less complicated than the one I got from my mom for my first baby. Full disclosure, I got this item for free in exchange for my honest review.

I'm a mom who's very experienced with baby wraps and carriers. I use different kinds of wraps for different occasions. So I was excited to add this to my collection. I watched several tutorials up to 10 times and still couldn't get this to sit well. I just don't know what Im doing wrong to make this so inconvenient. The Moby video tutorial skips so many important details when showing how to thread the material thru the rings. Because the first three times I did it, the panels laid backward, not forward pulling. They don't show you how to do it efficiently. First off, the fabric will always bunch up in the rings no matter how many times you set it flat whenever you pull or loosen the panels. That's just a given. So the fabric will never be truly flat. Second, when ... MoreI'm a mom who's very experienced with baby wraps and carriers. Second, when your baby is in, and there's one side loose, you have to pull the opposite side to tighten it, but it does not! It will tighten around your hip and the rings will dig into your sides, but the panel under baby's butt will remain loose. This jersey type fabric does not work for rings. That's why ring slings always use more woven textures. The 3rd separate panel you have to put on yourself not only will get lost when you're on the go, but is basically useless because you won't put it on tight enough to actually provide security. It's just for show, to put the label in front for advertisement. No baby wrap should sell itself if the third layer of security isn't already built in. Overall, I never felt comfortable or secure having baby in this. An experienced baby wearing mama couldn't figure this out so I doubt any new person ever could .

I have always wanted to try a Moby wrap but was intimidated by the complexity while already juggling a baby. When I saw this, it seemed like a perfect compromise - a Moby wrap with some pre-determined structure. I love that it is super easy to put on and insert the baby. The instructions were somewhat helpful for ensuring the baby was positioned appropriately - but honestly I really needed words to help describe the pictures as it seems like there were steps missing. Nonetheless, the wrap is very comfortable and can be used in an infant cradle, front facing, and rear facing. One downside is that it comes in 2 separate pieces - one is the main wrap and the other is the overlay piece. Apparently, they are both required for properly securing the baby in place, but it's ... MoreI have always wanted to try a Moby wrap but was intimidated by the complexity while already juggling a baby. This was great when I could get it fitted correctly. It took some work to lay it out, fold it correctly, then put it on. Pieces would drag the ground not making it great to do in public. When it was fitted it was secure for awhile but eventually slipped down and looked uncomfortable for baby.
With my fiirst baby I didn't partake in baby wearing. I was just not coordinated enough to get the wrapping down, I was a little paranoid about baby somehow falling (totally irrational, I know), and I had gained a lot of weight with my pregnancy, so the wrap I received for my baby shower was too tight by the time baby was 2 mo. Also, I didn't like tge restrictive feel of carriers. Second baby... One day I really wanted a wrap for a wedding we were attending, and this was the only one at the store. What a happy surprise it has turned out to be! It is SO simple to take on and off; it's the only one I feel confident putting on without the use of a mirror lol. Plus, I gained a lot of weight with pregnancy again, and am losing it pretty quickly -- I know this wrap will keep adjusting with me. And if I ever feel paranoid about how secure baby is, i just give the straps a tug for piece of mind. Also, my second baby is HUGE, so the easy size adjustment feature has been incredibly invaluable. I have found this wrap/carrier to be a perfect mix of both worlds, and very comfortable at my 5'9" height. So far I have only used the carrier inward facing, but am looking forward to other positions as an official baby wearing mama!
MobyFit compared to the MOBY evolution. MobyFit did have a little bit of a learning curve at first. Plus Cindel likes to wiggle so I normally end up needing to tighten it more as that stretches it out from her doing that. And I think since she is getting bigger that her legs out in the MobyFit is going to be much better, as then her wiggles & feet pushing on it won't stretch her loose needing the retighten. Also I end up adjusting the extra piece on the MobyFit a lot more and like how the evolution doesn't have that extra part requiring adjusting because you just pull the seat belt part up and it stays in place. Overall I am loving both, but between the two as of now, I can say the evolution is being a little more of my go to in my personal opinion! Also I am sure that has to do with all the practice I had using it with Lucas for a year. Lastly I am really happy with how the evolution is once piece and does feel a little more wiggle proof & snug. And I know I will be really happy using the MobyFit for the feet and legs out style.
I first purchased this wrap because it seemed to be the easiest and fastest one to apply without any assistance. It was very simple to apply on at first so I tried it for about 15 minutes with my daughter and I though it was great so I washed it and removed the tags. I decided to use it while going on a walk (which is why I wanted something confortable for both her and I) and it was just the worse thing I could have done! My daughter was confortable but my back was definitely not! Those "light weight" rings just dig deeper and deeper into your torso until your so sore that the only way to make it better it to remove the baby and the wrap completely. I rarely write reviews but feel I need to inform other parents before they spend around $60 on this product. I love my original moby carrier, it was a life saver with my first child. However, with my second baby I wanted a more breathable and cooler carrier for summer time, and also wanted a shorter option that doesn't drag in the parking lots when putting it on. This fits the bill for both of those desires, but it is extremely uncomfortable. The two rings that are placed on your back are about 3.5" wide and really cut into your rib cage and/or pelvis. I notice that these rings are not shown in any of the pictures advertising the product, probably for a reason. I am a 5'4" and 130 lb woman and I don't believe I have a short torso or anything. I have tried several times to make it work comfortably but in order to keep my baby from sagging uncomfortably low I have to reasonably tighten the rings because the material is stretchy (a plus if designed differently). I also tried loosening the rings and using the mandatory strap for tightness, but the sash still has to tie over the rings, making them tight and cutting all over again. And my baby is only 12 lbs right now. I can't imagine how I could use this when he gets bigger. I'm wearing it now and with each breath the rings cut into my lower ribs on my back. I really regret washing this because now it can't be returned. I really thought I must be wearing it incorrectly and it had a really strong odor upon purchase and I wanted it gone before placing my baby in it again. It may work for others, but I highly recommend wearing it a few times before washing in case it needs to be returned.
This is my first babywearing experience and I'm so disappointed I chose the MobyFit. The instructions on easy wearing are pretty minimal, and there's no troubleshooting examples, so I can't figure out how to make this work. (I really want to make it work since it was expensive and other baby carriers are also very expensive) The three biggest problems I have are: 1) Consistently struggle to get it on correctly, and always have to say "It fits like a t-shirt" to remind myself. 2) It can be hard to get my daughter into it, especially the last half -- I feel like I'm forcing her in and worry it hurts her. 3) The BIGGEST problem is that she slips down me as I'm wearing her, and her weight pulls on my upper back and neck. I found this much easier to manage than a traditional wrap and at more snug for my newborn to use around the house than a structured carrier, which I'll use when he's older. Keeps baby close for cuddles and asleep while I have two hands free. Only downside is that the ties are still extra long on me, but I've pinned them up to shorten it.
