Moccamaster Select Coffee Maker Polished Silver

I've been itching to get one of these for several years, and I'll be honest, my main motivation was the way it looks. I love that it comes in so many colors.After using it for several weeks, I am extremely happy with the product. We have been using a standard coffee maker for years, but sometimes do pour-over as a weekend treat. This makes coffee with that taste every day. It is a little fussier to work with than the old $60 coffee maker we had, but I enjoy the process.I'm very happy with it!

It makes the hottest coffee, just as promised (without tasting burnt)! While the body is sleek, heavy metal, the removable components are all plastic, which seems cheap, considering it’s such a high end appliance. The chrome colored bar at the top that dispenses the water discolored almost immediately. And it came with a dinky plastic coffee scoop that cracked within a few months. It’s still the best coffee maker I’ve ever had, I’m just prepared to replace the overpriced plastic components when they warp some day.

A must have

So this is THE coffee maker everybody has in Finland. I grew up thinking this is the only coffee machine in the World. My old one broke and finally I dared to buy myself a Moccamaster. The packaging is genious. There are finger holes in the boxes and pulling the stuff out safely has never been this satisfying. I made my first cups of coffee just now, unbelievable how fast it is. This coffee machine fixes all my problems in life.

Great Coffee Maker

We bought the Moccamaster Select in Matt Black in December and have been enjoying it daily. I usually start my day with a long black made with my Cafelat Robot and then make a pot with the Moccamaster to take to work in a thermos. Throughout the week we have lots of family and friends visit and can't make an espresso for everyone. The Moccmaster makes a strong smooth delicious coffee quickly.We looked long and hard at what coffee maker to buy and then when we decided on a Moccamaster we decided upon the Select mode. We often make less than a pot and it works a treat. We like the look and that it is handmade in Europe.Alternative Brewing shipped quickly and efficiently with no problems. I highly recommend both AB and the Moccamaster Select.

Marmuro Europe is dishonest.

I ordered this product from Marmuro Europe. When I received the product I was surprised to find that it had a European plug instead of a UK plug. As I ordered it on Amazon UK, I assumed it was a UK Plug. There were no pictures or mentions of plugs on the product information page. As the voltage was appropriate, I assumed it would be a UK plug. I purchased the product from Marmuro Europe, because they had what I was looking for. Not the cheapest, but the color and model I was looking for. After discovering there was an incorrect plug, I tried to return the product. I got the address to send the product to, and carefully put that address on the box to return it. Outstanding taste

The machine is 10 times more expensive than the usual off the shelf coffee machine so it needed to be pretty good to make it worthwhile. We were fortunate enough that a family member had one so we could try it beforehand. It really does make a huge difference. The same coffee tastes smoother and less bitter and I feel it justifies the price difference. The design is good and it looks good on the countertop. It looks well built and robust so hopefully it will stand the test of time. So far so good.

Overhyped

We have this machine for about a year now. I do like it's minimalistic look. It does the job of making coffee but not more. I did an extensive research before purchasing this and the last hint was a friend's raving review. I was previously brewing with V60 by hand and hoped that this would be somewhat not too far. But I was wrong. The coffee it brews is ok, it's quite smooth and pleasant but with no clarity and aroma of the hand brewed. To be honest- filling the tank, putting the grinds in putting the fiddly filter and cover on seems not much less work than brewing by hand. The problem is that it has no blooming stage so it just spays water like every other machine for 19 euros. Leaving the bed very uneven. It looks like it's brand new.It's a bit more work than a typical brewer, but the results are worth it. Be sure to read the instructions thoroughly before attempting to make your first brew. I failed to seat the top part of the machine in flat, so the water stayed inside, almost overflowing. Not a good way to start things off. But after that, I haven't had any issues.Before you buy this model, you should understand that it's designed to turn itself off pretty quickly after the brewing process is completed. heavenly made coffee

i cannot understand some negative comments,as a retired engineer chemicals etc my teaching was and is if working well,then leave alone and that is certainly what the company has done. it is so simple really not much to go wrong but simplicity here make a perfect coffee quietly and superfast,simple to clean too. yes i have one minor gripe and that is the fastening of the lid on the container it is very hard to clean without knocking the lid off,it would be better with a metal pin through it which i may do myself. but the maker is solid and with good plastic,highly recommended.
