The weight of the paper is perfect for writing, collaging, and doodling making these perfect for multimedia artists or just journaling. The price is average but the quality is great, it is nicely assembled and glued. The journals lasts for a long time. The paper for the sketchbook is smooth yet soft at the same time, which means that graphite really penetrates into the paper. Inks and fountain pens also work nice on the paper, the ink does not go through unless you add a lot with a brush(in that case buy the watercolor version). The tone is warm white, leaning towards a khaki color which means that if you take it outside it will not hurt or tire your eyes under direct sunlight. Conte and charcoal work really nice but add fixative unless you want your conte or charcoal drawings to smear. I bought this a couple months ago and I am really glad I did. It fits perfectly in my purse and is useful when I need to jot something down while I am out. I enjoy that is is hardcover because not only is it durable, it makes it easy to write in.
Finally found the hardcover moleskine in the size I want ... perfect for my work and keeping track of everything I need to do. The smaller sizes just didn't work for me and the softcover got rather battered. I like the hardcover sturdiness and the size ... dotted allows me to create my own lines/pages and this will become my goto preference! Now if I could find the same quality at a lower price ... hmm. Willing to put up the dollars for it though.
I had researched the best notebooks to use for journaling and this was highly recommended. I use a fountain pen for my writing and most notebooks have a paper that the ink dries slowly, gets easily smudged, and even bleeds through. The Moleskin notebook has excellent paper that handles pencil, ballpoint ink, gel ink, and fountain pen ink exceptionally well. Well made and should last for a lifetime!
I wanted a nice journal that I could enjoy for a long time. This journal is beautiful and functional. I love the color especially. I will say that the price is high considering that it’s just a journal, but I know the brand is reputable. I’m sure you could find similar for less money, but I’m happy with my purchase.
Moleskine as it is. Love it. The only thing the color is more pink than on the picture. Delivery was fast, everything is great.
Buy buy buy this notebook! It’s perfect. Ink does not bleed through (I used gel pens). There is a little bit of ghosting , but nothing too terrible. I love using this every single day. It lays flat which makes for better writing. I add cardstock, washi tape, stickers, etc to my pages and it holds up beautifully. Seriously, this is the best.
Because the paper is thin and floppy and the covers are weak and floppy, old pages will get bent, wrinkled, or warped while you are working on new pages. Also personally I don't like the feel of the paper on my hand. It's very thin by the way. The paper that is.To me it seems they sell because the brand name sounds interesting. But the real paper pros - - Canson, Strathmore, Hahnemuehle, and more - - these guys know paper better.
