The Moment 72mm Variable Neutral Density 0.6 to 1.5 Filter is designed to mount onto lenses with 72mm front filter threads and provides an exposure reduction of 2 to 5 stops. Its 0.6 to 1.5 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally possible. The degree of density is easily controlled by rotating the front filter ring, helping you to predetermine the additional exposure length required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. For easier, repeatable control over density settings, the front ring is visually demarcated with lines representing the different stop values and features side knurlings to further enable fast and precise positioning. First of all, this filter is gorgeous. I love the color of the glass, and yet it doesn't alter the color of my footage. Such a cool design, too. The filter can easily raise or lower the heaviness of its affect on the picture by simply turning the dial. And the dial's resistance is perfect! Just enough to keep the filter in the desired level of intensity without turning while shooting. I will say, however, that the case the filter comes in isn't practical to all shooting environments. I live in Florida and the humidity outside makes grabbing and turning the case very difficult. I spent 10 minutes trying to open the case for my 4-32 ND. It wasn’t until a few days after receiving my order that the Moment company is located in Seattle, only a short distance from where I live in BC.I purchased this VND filter to use in June when we are going to be travelling in Israel and Jordan for two weeks. My wife and I decided to leave our cameras at home and just use our iPhones for stills and videos.I haven’t used the filter yet but I was waiting for the Moment case and a filter mount to be able to use this filter on my iPhone. Today I will be picking up an 18mm wide lens and then I will have all I need for using my iPhone for our trip in June.I might be looking for some more items from Moment before we leave like a CPL filter and possibly others. I bought the bundle a while back that included the 2-5 & the 6-9nd filters. It completely changed my way of shooting and improved my image quality tremendously. It might have taken me a whole week to decide after watching Youtube on & off and skipping reviews of the Polar Pro Peter guy. I wasn't paying 250 for that one for sure. I purchased the 77 ring size for my Panasonic 24-105 lens. 2 weeks later I purchased a new lens which was a Sigma 24-70 and to my surprise the ring size was 82mm. I was at a cross roads because I didn't want to purchase 2 new nd filters over again but I had to. Nevertheless Brionne Olsen made the transaction so smooth and went ahead and shipped out my new nd filters so that I can have the for my wedding. Thank you guys!!!

My second moment VND filter. They're sturdy, nice looking, and get very clean results. I never see any distortion while rotating them. The hard stops are nice so you know where you're at. I definitely appreciate the little metal canister that they come in too. I know I can keep my moment filters safe. Great buy, I'll probably end up with more down the road.

The 82mm has a click in every stop while the 72mm doesn't click.I was told by Shivang (a gear guide from Moment @theimagefreak) that the "click" was recently added only to the 82mm VND filter. All the other sizes do not have the "click" yet.The "click' allows you to accurately position the VND filter on every stop ie ND4, ND8, ND16 and ND32. This is a great addition to the feature of the VND.I originally talked to Kenn Miel (another gear guide from Moment) and he offered to send me a replacement. I know a replacement may or may not solve the problem but it was a gesture of keeping their customer happy due to this inconvenience. Don’t typically write reviews, but I felt compelled to write one for this filter. Whether you’re new to photo/video or simply venturing into new spaces creatively, this filter is what you need. You don’t realize how important it is until you have it and see the difference. I love shooting outdoors, photo and video. This filter gives you so much flexibility and looks phenomenal. It feels well built and the glass is high quality too. It’s reasonably priced and is worth the investment in my opinion.
When I first started filming I've opted to go for the cheaper options for ND filters, and they weren't necessarily bad however both build quality and image quality just wasn't feeling top notch. When I received the Moment filters (ND 6-9 and CineBloom) they immediately made a pleasant impression, which is derived from the fantastic quality of the materials and the packaging. Easily stackable and perfectly clear in terms of colour preservation and staying mostly neutral on the image without weird colours or vignette. After realising I'm in need for another ND to cover the 2-5 range, I ordered just that from Moment, these will go into my filter pouch as the new standard option.

I purchased this filter as a replacement for another brand that was starting to show some wear and tear. I had purchased moment products before and they performed great I would give this ND a try at a major discount compared to the others. I have been using it since April 2023 and it has not given me a single problem and works great. The only thing I can mention that could be improved is adding some form of cap to add to the filter when mounted to the camera but that extra item would increase the cost. I just take it off when not in use.
