Best large monitor for a USB-C laptop setup

After a lot of searching for the perfect monitor for my setup (large, good quality, USB-C compatible with a good amount of charge power, and multiple regular USB ports in the back so I could use the monitor as a USB hub) this fit all the criteria perfectly. Exceptionally well built, as was the display itself. Upon hooking everything up, it was big, bright, and everything great you'd want out of a monitor. For those using USB-C, this is a no brainer unless you don't want a very large display. This thing is BIG, bordering on almost too big, but I'm still glad I bought it. The USB-C allows me to use just one cable from my laptop to the monitor (cable is included) to provide display to the monitor, power back to the laptop to keep it charged, and any USB devices plugged into the back of the monitor are usable on the laptop. All my USB devices (mouse, keyboard, and webcam) are plugged into the back of the monitor, which is great for cable organization and makes for easy connection and disconnection for laptops. Overall I'm very happy with this.

The monitor is excellent. 32 inch screen gives plenty of real estate for opening multiple sites. I don't find any pixel problems. The stand is easy to assemble, quite stable, and allows verticle or horizontal position. In horizontal it sits fairly high-8 inches from the desk to the bottom edge-so I had to rearrange the ergonomics of my chair and desk. It needs this clearance to allow for rotation to verticle. It would be nice if the stand post had some way to adjust the height. The screen is sharp and clear, which is most important.

I found it to be at least twice as thick as a typical cable bought elsewhere. This monitor has a built-in USB hub with four ports, but it's a little disappointing to see only two of the ports are SuperSpeed. Two of the ports are behind the monitor and the other two are on the bottom left bezel. It's difficult to access either of those ports because you can't see them well and have to rely on feel. I'm not sure why Dell didn't place them on the left side like on previous past models.Overall, this is a premium priced monitor and you're paying a bit more for the Dell brand. The largest and most well known PC brand in the world (based in Beijing) offers a similar 32" USB-C product but with higher 75W USB-C PD and four USB 3.1 ports. Do some careful comparisons before making your purchase.

Great 1440p Monitor with extras!
4 May 2022

Great Monitor, my first over 1080p resolution. Came with all needed cables! OSD helpful, increased sharpness, and all's well. USB hub is convenient, but everyone's dropping the SD card reader so minus a star. Wish the usb hub ports were on the side like my other Dell monitors. I have 3 Dell monitors, an older 19" I use in tandem with this one for email, and a 27" 1080P monitor at home. Got this one to replace my older Dell 24", which finally died after 14 years of faithful daily service, but it had an SD reader which was super useful for photos. All in all I'm very happy with this monitor.

Great Size!

I've been using a 27 inch monitor on my old computer, so when I upgraded to my new XPS 8940 I wanted to go with a 30 inch. Looking at the 30 inch 4K monitors, they were just more expensive than I wanted to go for, so I thought I was going to have to get another 27 until I saw this 32 inch QHD. It's been perfect for me -- plenty of screen space to organize multiple windows, or to go full screen when processing photos or watching video. This monitor has the ability to operate as a USB hub when connected via USB back to the computer, but I've opted to instead connect the USB-A to USB-C cable to it and leave it "dangling." That way, all I have to do is plug the USB-C end into my Inspiron laptop and instantly the monitor switches over to the laptop, in addition to charging the laptop via that same USB-C connection. The stand for the monitor is very robust and HEAVY -- as you'd expect in order to keep such a big screen stable (shipping weight was 35 pounds, compared with 18 pounds for the XPS 8940). It also holds the monitor up quite high, which it needs to do so that the monitor can be rotated into the vertical position if desired. It seemed a bit too high at first until I got used to it, but also has the advantage that I can see the full monitor over the top of my laptop screen. I've run a color calibration on this monitor using my Xrite equipment and the results look very good. As far as brightness levels, after calibration I am able to see the full range of 256 brightness values.

Great monitor for a great price

This monitor is great for productivity work. Text and images are clear and crisp. I didn't expect the image quality to be this good for this price. It's a really good value monitor, and it's a big step up from my 10 year old NEC IPS displays in terms of image quality and overall feel.Pixel density is similar to a 24" 1920x1080 monitor, which I prefer because text/font sizes are natively displayed in a readable size. Of course this 32" monitor is much bigger than a 24" monitor (77% more area) and has more pixels (77% more, at 1440 x 2560 instead of 1920 x 1080), so you can fit a lot more on the screen. I'm really glad I did, because I saved a lot of money and it meets my needs. If you do detailed photo editing and 4k video editing you obviously would want a 4k monitor, but if you don't need all those pixels I would highly recommend this monitor. It's a really great value.

Lovely crisp display with vibrant colours
25 June 2021

I've been using an HP LP2065 monitor (20" IPS panel, 1600 x 1200) with my Mac Mini for the last 10 years. Although it was an older screen (released in 2007 or 2008), it had features that I liked: it was well built, the pixels were large enough for my middle-aged eyes, and the colours from the IPS panel were bright. I'd wanted to upgrade to a bigger screen for some time, but I found it hard to find a modern monitor with features that matched the HP. And then I stumbled upon the Dell P3221D; a 32-inch 1440p monitor from a quality manufacturer... with an IPS panel. I couldn't find many reviews of this model, but I bought one anyway. Monitor far superior to instructions, settings button or input plugs.
2 December 2021

The screen performance (resolution, color) is excellent and the set-up (though with inadequate instructions), with tiny graphics), and ease of use (positioning up and down, etc) are superior BUT there are two major, needless obstacles: 1) all the key input slots are in the back and down facing, just about the least convenient setup. WHY not have plugs aim backwards. 2) the adjustment/setting button is badly designed and non intuitive: this is the least user friendly way to adjust picture and mode I can imagine. I had to call twice and talk to very nice technical guides and it still isn't clear how to move and adjust. Finally, the instructions need to have one page in which all the virtues of the inputs are made clear to each application. Phenomenal product with great value!

This monitor was nearly half-off its MSRP, but it still arrived in, to my eye, practically brand new condition. No blemishes whatsoever, and the screen itself is bright, colorful, and non-pixelated, even at a standard distance at a desk. The stand itself is also extremely niceits easily adjustable up, down, side to side, tilting up and down, and then it can also revolve in a matter of seconds to switch from landscape to portrait orientation. Additionally, both an HDMI to HDMI cable and DisplayPort to USB-C cable work at 2k60Hz. Overall, I couldnt be happier with this monitor!

I bought this monitor to replace a work-supplied BENQ 27" 1080p monitor. I researched 4K monitors and found most are quite pricey. I've been using it for 3 months now and am nothing but happy! The monitor came in a very secure box and was easy to set-up (maybe 5min or less). I find it very useful for graphic design work, and the extra real estate with programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premeire is so nice. The only very minor glitch I've noticed is sometimes I'll come back to my desk after a while (overnight, usually) and the monitor won't register with the laptop. A simple unplug/plug back in of the cable at the laptop port does the trick. I could have a faulty cable or perhaps the connection from the laptop is wonky. Just happens randomly and not that often.I also purchased the soundbar which works great and occupies very little space underneath the monitor. For $40 it's not bad, and more convenient and ergonomic than an external set.
