When I first saw these for sale, I was intrigued at the built in microSD card slot. It would be convenient to use when I did not have a Bluetooth music player with me. I decided to order a pair when Monoprice sent me a discount coupon (though the $19.99 was already a good price). When I received the headphones, the first think I wanted to do was try out the microSD card slot with some MP3's I had loaded onto it. No dice! The retaining mechanism would not hold the microSD card in. As soon as I removed my finger, it would pop out. As long as I held it in, it did play music so I knew the electronics were okay. Nothing I did could get the card to stay in even pushing it in below the earcup surface with a pencil point. I contacted customer support and they immediately ... MoreWhen I first saw these for sale, I was intrigued at the built in microSD card slot. I put the microSD card into the new pair and it again popped out like the other pair did. However, after a slight bit of fiddling (which did not work with the original pair) I did get it to click in. At that point, I found they do work well and I leave the microSD card in all the time (I am actually a bit scared to remove it in case I cannot get it back in again!).My biggest gripe about them is that the earcups are not articulating. As such, they do not adjust to lie flat on the surface of my ears. Otherwise, they are lightweight, the bass is good and the cushions do an adequate job of keeping the headphones comfortable. In comparison, I have to say that my favorite Monoprice headphones are still the Monoprice Premium Hi-Fi DJ Style (8323 with Bluetooth). They are about the same price when they are on sale though they lack a microSD card slot.

First pair of headphones I ever bought from Monoprice was the Monoprice BT-500ANC. I liked them. After sometime and wearing them during exercising the ear pieces were wearing. So I thought I'd buy a new pair to have just form listening when not exercising. So I bought these. The fit is OK. But the bluetooth does stretch very far. My kitchen is less than 50 feet from my computer and I almost lose signal. Even when I turn it on the voice sounds scratchy and in the middle of songs the bluetooth will skip out several times and I 5 feet away on my recliner. They're good. But won't buy again.

For an inexpensive pair of bluetooth headphones, the sound is quite good. Keep in mind that I am 81 years old and my hearing cuts off at about 7000 cycles. People with better hearing may, or may not find the high frequency response adequate. (I have no idea.) The low frequency is good, but is not particularly boosted. The noise cancelling is good for all of the frequencies from my desktop computer fans. Since I normally work in a relatively quiet environment, except for the computer, I find it quite adequate. The earpads are generally quite comfortable. The only problem I have had is that the headband is quite tight and the pressure eventually hurts squeezing on the sides of my head. These headphones are very comfortable and easy to use. My sister bought me a pair last year and I used them on a plane trip with her. External sounds were diminished and the audio on the movie I watched on the plane was excellent. She had an old set of headphones and really liked these, so I bought her a pair for Christmas. I also purchased a set for my husband to use when he works out at the YMCA. He likes the comfort of them instead of his ear buds. Great item!
I've had these headphones for a little over a month now and have tried to use them routinely for music and audiobooks. I'm the type to listen to music as quietly as I can turn it while concentrating on other things, so definitely not one to crank the volume to the max and leave it there. One thing struck me immediately upon getting these headphones connected--the ANC switch does not just turn on noise cancelling, the overall sound quality drastically improves from having ANC turned on (which would be the normal way I'd use these headphones anyway). The entire range of sound instantly becomes fuller and clearer from having ANC switched on, even in a room with nearly no ambient noise to speak of. The entire range of sound instantly becomes fuller and clearer from having ANC switched on, even in a room with nearly no ambient noise to speak of. I absolutely loved them at first. However, I discovered over the course of about a week of use that having ANC turned on has some physiological side-effects on me. I was feeling mildly nauseated and even light-headed after having ANC turned on for even a song or two. I did some quick google research and it turns out some minor nausea is not unusual for people who aren't used to Active Noise Cancelling technology (people report that issue with other noise-cancelling headphones too, even Bose!) so I figured I'd just muscle through and give myself time to adjust to them. The nausea has gotten better, but I've discovered that the ANC also seems to cause some hearing fatigue just from having it turned on. To test it, this morning I switched ANC on and didn't connect any music--just the noise cancelling. Subjectively, it sounded like silence. After about 10 minutes, though, I took the headphones off, and it felt like someone had been screaming in both of my ears--and the relief from taking them off was tangible. So much so, it even makes me a little concerned about whether the ANC could be causing actual hearing damage, if stopping it feels that good..I love (LOVE) the fit and finish on these headphones--the construction is light and brilliantly cord-free thanks to the perfect Bluetooth connection... no complaints on either point there. And the sound quality is frankly the best of any headphones I've ever owned--WITH the ANC switch turned on. Otherwise, the sound is much less full, especially in comparison if I've just been listening with ANC on. I'm really disappointed to be having this experience with these headphones--maybe ANC just isn't for me? But I've never tried it in any other headphones so I have no way to be sure if it's the headphones or something weird about my own hearing. I want to love them so much, but the wave of relief in my ears when I take them off makes me hesitate so much to put them back on again.
The headphones came packaged well and with a carrying case. First impressions are that the are too tight against my ears and there is no adjustment for this. That is reason for 4 stars, not 5. After wearing them for about an hour, I have to take them off and or repostion them to eliminate the pain. OK, my ears may be too big. They are more comfortable when I move them around and capture the entire ear inside the padding of the headphones. Sound quallity is good overall, highs are not as 'brilliant' as I expected but OK. Pairing with Bluetooth is reliable and easy. I have not been in an environment where I can test the noise cancelling feature.
Big step up from the 205s. Much more comfortable, and better sound. Just big enough to fit my head, which is the largest one i've come across.I'm spoiled by my other pair of wired prestige audiophile open back headphones, but I can listen to music on these and not be annoyed, which I can't say about the vast majority of affordable headphones. Most importantly, the bluetooth connectivity works well, as it does with all the monoprice headphones i've used. The biggest issue is probably that when you turn them on there's this DC current shift that kinda smacks you eardrums. Not enough to hurt, but kinda just shy of that.
Consumer reports liked these so I gave them a try. I have limited experience with Bluetooth over the ear headphones - just some Sony 900 and 910s. These are 90-95% as good as those but 20% the cost. Comfort is pretty good for my big head but all 3 end up making my outer ear hurt. Sound is a little boxier with the monoprice, highs rolled off a bit. Bass is good. Bluetooth signal doesn?t extend as far from the device and they have very infrequent static when working/moving that I never noticed with the Sonys. Noise canceling seems about the same. I love that you don?t need to download an app to pair them with your phone. Good buy. I?d recommend them for sure
PROS- Decent sound quality but only with ANC turned on... ANC not only blocks out some external sounds, but also boosts the bass- Good battery life, lasts well over 6 hours on a full charge. I haven't gone longer without charging first, but I could probably squeeze out a little more.- 3.5mm input to use as regular headphones without Bluetooth- Nice that it folds and comes in a hard shell case.CONS-ANC isn't that great. When I used them on a plane, it works, but I expected it to block out more of the engine drone noise. Constant background noises like a plane should be easier to block.- The ANC doesn't turn off when you turn off the Bluetooth radio so ANC is easy to accidentally leave on. I understand why you might want the ANC on with Bluetooth off, but my ... MorePROS- Decent sound quality but only with ANC turned on... I understand why you might want the ANC on with Bluetooth off, but my preference would be that turning off Bluetooth would turn off both and if you need ANC by itself, you can turn it on separately again.$30 is a good price for something with ANC, but since the ANC is just meh, you might be better off getting some non-ANC headphones that sound better for the same price.
This headset is absolutely perfect. I needed one specifically with noise cancelling ability for travel on an airplane as I couldn't hear the movies with the old cheap ear buds the airlines give out; there was just too much jet noise. The brand was featured in a magazine which is how I found out about it. Well, I recently traveled and was able to use the product. I'm in heaven! I feel They worked amazingly. I could actually hear the movie CLEARLY! There is a switch to toggle between noise cancelling and regular. The price was excellent, and its a superbly made product. Superbly. Its attractive and sturdy. The ear cushions are VERY comfortable with clear markings for which is the left ear and the right ear so you know you're putting them on right.
