I have just left a review of the 4 inch version. The same again. We use these squares here at Waters and Acland Furniture School and Fine Furniture Workshop. A very high quality square. Pay the extra. It's a sound investment.

After failed attempts at buying cheaper traditional carpenters squares, I bit the bullet and got this. Why didn't I just buy it in the first place?! I'm now starting off on the right foot at the marking stage - and checking too. I highly recommend this, at a great price for the excellent quality.
I set this on my table saw top, and put it against another, similar square to check their perpendicularities. Either they are both essentially perfectly square, or are both off in opposite directions exactly the same amount! No chance of that; very nice little square.
We use these squares here at Waters and Acland Furniture School and Fine Furniture Workshop. They are of high quality and are square. Thats pretty important. Well worth the investment.

item “looks” ok , should come packaged in a hard plastic case as per oxford precision and not have to hope it it ok when it arrives in a squashed looking tatty card board box
Sturdy little engineers' square, ideal for craft-work and small scale projects.
This square is not lightweight, it is a properly constructed piece of equipment that will last a lifetime if looked after. This thing is brilliant, i love using it every time because i know it's going to be accurate and also it just feels nice. Very happy with it.
