Companion HeavyDuty is the optimal companion for rigorous adventures and challenges. The robust handle and somewhat sturdier 27° angle edge give it maximum edge resiliency. The blade is extra thick (3.2 mm) to be able to withstand all kinds of pressure and it’s made of carbon steel, which is simple to sharpen. Remember that carbon steel needs maintaining though, so make it a habit to wipe the knife and oil the blade after usage.

This is an inexpensive option for an excellent all around utility knife. It is a medium size knife with a nice weight, rubberized handle, Scandi grind, and excellent steel that takes a razor sharp edge and keeps it.The nice thing about a knife with a scandi grind is that it is easy to sharpen in the field. This knife does not have the sharp angle that knives with thicker blades and a scandi grind have. Makes this guy all the more versatile. It’s a good camp or everyday chore knife, but the blade is thin enough that it works just as well for cleaning fish and food prep out in the field. These are just a great knifes to have on your belt, toolbox, or tackle box. They generally come razor sharp, but i’ve heard of exceptions. They are easily brought up to a very sharp edge.Unless you’ve really beat up the blade, all you need is a good kitchen steel or Ceramic Rod to bring the edge right back. Even with a badly beat up edge, you should not need anything more than a fine to medium diamond stone. Then finish the edge off with a steel or ceramic rod. There are lots of good vids on YouTube showing how to sharpen a blade with a scandi edge.‘Available in Carbon Steel, or Stainless. Both take a fine edge. These are tools. There are pros and cons to each depending on the task you intend to use them for. The Carbon Steel will hold its edge longer but will require maintenance to prevent rust. These days I use a light coat of coconut oil. It travels as a solid, melts from the heat of your fingertip, and is edible. No worries about what kind of lube is on this knife if i’m out and just want to slice up an apple. The stainless steel will get razor sharp. It will dull sooner than the Carbon steel blade with heavy use, but is easily brought back. Takes little to maintain an edge, and excells around or in the water. The only negative to these knives are the plastic sheath that they come with. They will do the job of protecting the blade in a tool or tackle box, but they are rigid and awkward to sit or move around with. There are many inexpensive leather sheaths from places like the knife connection that will feel a lot better on your belt.

I love'em! They are a very capable woods knife and an exceptional value. Solid blade and a generous handle (I have rather large hands). They stand up to moderate batoning, just dont try to drive it through a 3" piece of hickory and you'll be fine.A little file work to sharpen the spine and it throws sparks like a grinder off a farrow rod. And for the price, if you do brake or lose it, you wont cry near as much as you would with a high dollar blade.

Knife was just as described and was very sharp right out of the box. If you are looking for a carefree knife this is it. Used on a camping trip and it worked perfectly. I will be using this on a regular basis

Greetings. The Moriknife is probably a "Sleeper" in that it is a fantastic value for such a modest price! If you want a reliable, sturdy, Quality knife, look no further! I will Definitely recommend this line of knives to my friends. Well done indeed!
For the price this knife cannot be beaten. It is on par with the so-called high end knife for both its quality and its functionality. This gets 10 stars in my book but unfortunately I can only give it five. I am so so happy with it.
My 11 year old loves this new knife for whittling and other forest activities. Great service from the Gear Shop team too! Thank you!
This is a great quality, but inexpensive, bushcrafting/all purpose knife. I researched it before buying and the only drawback is the spine isnt ground at 90 degrees. For fire steel thats a necessity. If youre at all mechanically inclined, a YouTube video and a few minutes with a file and or a dremel and its an easy fix. Its handle feels great in my hand. The blade thickness and scandi grind makes it great for feather-sticking. The polymer sheath is nice too. It has great knife retention, and can just be clipped on over your belt. Very cool design. This inexpensive knife preforms as well as knives at ten times the price. If you want a super steel and can afford it go for it, but if youre funds limited, this is a great buy.
EXELANT QUALITY . built to last . Sharpin easily . holds an edge good . does every thing well . MONEY WELL SPENT .
For what are lower priced knives, the Morakniv Companion knives are amazingly good. The Heavy Duty is built to do more hard work, but the whole range are good. Great design, easy to use.
My first Mora is a beauty. Unbelievable quality for such a modest price. Excellent utility knife.Great service too, sending my shipment very promptly, all the way across the world.Thanks.
