Decided to give a slow cooker a try, having had one many moons ago and never using it much. As I already had a Morphy Richards soup maker and used this frequently and really pleased with it, it was a natural choice to opt for Morphy Richards again. I have only used this a couple of times so far, once for a joint of pork that I wasn't expecting to be particularly impressed with. However, the meat was cooked to perfection and I am now a convert to slow cooking. The other time was a lemon chicken recipe. Again, not convinced it was going to look as good as the recipe promised. Our dinner guests said differently. Once everything was in the pot, it was a matter of sitting down with a drink when our guests arrived until it was time to dish up. This slow cooker has revived ... Bought to replace an earlier version of the same slow cooker that had done great service for many years but was showing cosmetic signs of age (non-stick coating is still fine though). I use it for all the usual stews, curries, chilies etc. and find it brilliant for whole chicken, ham joints and other less obvious cooking (about to try cheesecakes). The metal dish makes preparation a breeze and cleaning up easy. I'm very happy to recommend the Morphy Richards slow cooker.

A sturdy, good-looking slow cooker (black & rose gold, 3.5L). Simple to use, solid dial; very, very easy to clean. Great size for 3-4 adults. A large sausage casserole took about 5-6hrs on medium (thin sausages, potatoe diced small). I needed to sear beforehand as I have an induction hob (hence 4 stars) -something to bear in mind- a minor issue really. Great price, especially in the sale.

This arrived today to replace my previous Morphy Richards slow cooker that I loved. Straight out of the box easy to use and I like the dial on this one. The fact it doesn't stick out in the way means clumsy me is less likely to knock it while doing other tasks. So far its cooking well. I love the fact I can use the pan on the hob if I wish to. I very much enjoyed that feature on my previous model and as this is the same inside pot I can definitely say that it works well for that purpose. The black and rose gold looks really stylish and is now showing up everything else in the kitchen. The only thing I would like is perhaps another inch on the cable length due to the way our kitchen sockets are laid out - but thats so minor that it certainly doesn't take away from ... I've had mine for a couple of years and I love it. So easy, makes amazing delicious meals, so cheap on energy and very easy to clean. Today I'm doing a slow cooked chicken chasseur which already is making the kitchen smell amazing. As an aside, I'm serving with creamy italian herb parsnip and potato mash, carrot batons and broccoli, probably more info. than you needed to know :) I also cook roasts and beef brisket last weekend was restaurant quality. I love to cook and am hard to please, so well done guys. My Mam always really loved MorphyRichards 'kit' and I now know why x
I've just bought this slow cooker and have used it for the first time to make a beef casserole for my husband and I. Although I had it on the low setting, it was overcooked after two hours. Having rung Morpphy Richards I 've been told that the pot has to be filled up for it to work properly as a slow cooker without overcooking. Or, if half full, then it will take about two hours shorter time duration. However, mine over cooked in less than two hours leaving me with tough meat. Morphy Richards are not interested in helping me with a refund. I'm so annoyed as I expected it to work as all my other slow cookers have done and I've now wasted money on a product that is no good to me.
I was surprised how easy the slow cooker was to use and really appreciated the light weight of the metal dish rather than the heavy pot dish most slow cookers use. You can just add your ingredients, browning onions and meat on the hob first, then adding whatever vegetables you want with added stock and set the time and forget it. I haven't used it very much as yet, but it has been brilliant for doing minced lamb with vegetables, using up odds and ends from the fridge that would go to waste. It holds 4 portions and I freeze 2 to have another day with the 2 minute rice done in the microwave. A quick and easy extra meal for when you don't have much time! Just the metal dish and lid to wash afterwards. I'm looking forward to doing a rice pudding next and trying other ... Pros: No good points really. Put food in turn on and wait. Cons: Yes yes & yes. This product can be very dangerous. When the non stick liner is used on a gas hob as described it is very unstable and needs to be held firmly to prevent slipping off the hob when merely stirring or searing the food. The liner is way too lightweight.I'm surprised Morphy Richards have put their name to this product. Far too dangerous for home use.

With this version, the inner aluminium non-stick inner pot allows me to sear/brown on the hob and simply transfer to the cooker - much less messy! The taste of food is much improved. The setting controls are “chunky” meaning you can really tell whether it’s on high, medium or low. So far I haven’t over cooked anything even leaving it on for 10 hrs (on low) The inner pot washes easily in the dishwasher too and comes out like new. I’m still experimenting with recipes and quantities but so far I’m really pleased Cons: I’d like the settings knob to be on a gradient of low, med, high rather than the high setting being in the ... Have used my Morphy Richards Sear & Stew Slow Cooker several times now and have found it easy to use. Have adapted recipes from the instruction leaflet, first I tried the sausage casserole which was delicious. Then my husband used it to make a curry which tasted better than usual. Also made a lovely Bolognaise sauce. It's great to be able to start the cooking by putting the pot on the hob and then transfer pot to the base unit and forget about it for 6 - 8 hours. Also, as steam is contained in the unit it doesn't steam up the kitchen. So happy with my slow cooker I also bought one for my mother-in-law.
