My late Mother gifted me one of these. I've used it about 10 times. Last night it tripped the electric circuit. Moisture had gathered in the part where the handle and jug sockets plug together. I checked for the issue online and there are evidently many people who have experienced this. It's not customer error. Is it a design fault? I recommend that you undertake careful research before buying.

I bought this product four days ago and have made celery soup from the instruction leaflet and broccoli and Stilton cheese soup fusing my usual recipe. Have to say both were delicious. The machine is so easy to use and it is a bonus having the sauté feature built in. Once you have sautéed your onions etc , it is a case of adding other ingredients and stock , put the lid on , press whether you want chunky or smooth , press start and that’s it! Machine does the rest. I prefer smooth soup and although the machine does make a noise when in blending mode, it is no louder than a blender would be. It is great that everything is done in the one machine;- no blender to clean or extra pan to wash. When it comes to cleaning, the non stick surface makes this super easy. I am very impressed with this and would have hesitation in recommending it.

Keeps cutting out
6 April 2021

Not used that much, and worked fine the first few uses. Then cut out after a few minutes on next use. Allowed to cool down and it finished the program ok - so thought I must have not had the lid on properly (even though I checked it carefully). Next time it was used it cut out again a few minutes after starting to boil - again allowed it to cool and restarted it, but it cut out again. I managed to complete the cycle (21 mins) after several cut out and restart cycles. Last time I used it, it cut out again shortly after starting to boil (about 8 mins into 21 min cycle) and this time after allowing it to cool it just repeatedly cut out again. I got no further than about 8 minutes into the program - as every time it cuts out it forgets where it was in the program and has to start from the beginning - every time as soon as it started boiling again it cut out after about 1 minute. After over an hour of trying to make simple soup on a 21 min program I finally gave up. So it is now (hardly used but) unusable and out of warranty of course. I am very disappointed, as I have bought many Morphy Richards products and always been happy and never had a problem with them before.

One pot soupmaker.
30 December 2020

Bought this as part of my wife's Christmas gifts. She makes soup regularly, at least twice a week. Usually involves lots of chopping, browning of bacon lardons etc, depending on what's being made. I chose this model purely for the saute feature as the whole point of this item is to save time and mess. She's used it twice since getting it five days ago and can't stop raving about it. Made a chunky Chilli soup in 28 minutes while watching Netflix. Much better than the usual timescale and no cleaning up to speak of. I chopping board and a knife! There are also some good videos on YouTube, so no worries about getting recipy ideas. As for capacity, makes 1.6L of soup, so good for 3-4 decent portions. A shop bought tin is usually around 400ml.All in all a successful Christmas gift that will be well used

Overall Very Good
14 November 2022

I bought this to replace a previous soup maker which had a very nice heavy duty goblet. The one I have just bought has a rather thin metal goblet which conducts heat. The business end of the blender is more fiddly to clean than I expected. However the plus is after that the sautée stage the thing can be left to its own devices and after 20 minutes there is an excellent smooth soup. This is all very good. I have people helping me who complained if it being noisy. It is, but it is quieter than a blender. Overall I am pleased.

This is a wonderful product, that comes in 2 sections plus kettle type electrical lead. Top section houses controls motor & rotating blades, lower section stainless steel jug with heating base for 'Sauteing'.A bit sceptical at first after carrying out research on soup makers in general & reading various on line reviews. Decided to pay extra for the 'Saute' feature as this appeared to be the only one on the market that had this feature, and so pleased that I did to soften chopped onions etc.Extremely simple to use, even the children use to male various smoothies, with strict instructions of DO NOT ADD ICE! (blades not heavy duty enough)On reading fault reviews on line it would appear that motor malfunction could be due to naturally forming moisture/condensation created during the soup making entering into the motor housing. As such we wipe & dry off this area imediatley after use. Also taking great care when washing this top section when also cleaning the blades. It would be nice if the complete jug section could be immersed within water when cleaning, but as this has the electrical socket section (similar to an electric kettle) naturally it is unwise to get this area wet.All in all pretty satisfied so far!

So Easy to Make Great Soups
18 August 2022

I have wanted one of these soup makers for a while and would recommend this one. The saute function is great addition to this range of soup makers as everything can be done in this one appliance. We love hot soup during the winter and I am aware that some canned soups have a lot of sugar in them. I first made lentil and bacon soup, sauted the onions and chopped bacon then added the rest of the ingredients and just pressed smooth soup mode. It does intermittently make some noise but this is normal. There is also some condensation around the sides but I just wiped this off so it's a good idea to site it under a cooker hood or even near an open kitchen door. I left it to cook for the 20 minutes until it beeped when it finished. I left it to cook for the 20 minutes until it beeped when it finished. The soup was wonderful and I know exactly what has gone in it. I then made chicken soup with sage that I grow in the garden. Again, this was thick and tasty but could be watered down according to preference. I would say one batch of soup makes 4 average bowls or 3 large ones. I have decanted some of the soup I made into strong soup bags, labelled and put in the freezer. There is a recipe leaflet that comes with this soup maker but there are also websites with recipes, specific for soup makers. You could even invent your own to your own tastes. Iam very happy with this saute and soup maker and it won't be gathering dust in my kitchen. It will be used a lot during the Autumn and winter.

Souper Easy and so Souperb !

I have used other soup makers (cheaper brands) without the saute function. Top Quality Soup, excellent standard
19 March 2023

WOW, my partner purchased this Soup Maker for my birthday and what a fabulous gift it is. Tonight soup I made Mint and Pea soup on the smooth setting and sauté my spring onions. The quality of the texture and the taste is superb and very delicious. I am very excited to continue to use it. The instructions are easy and the cleaning is just as brilliant. Definitely a 5*s from me. Thank you Morphy Richards for designing such an excellent cooking product, and ASDA (George) for selling the product at a reasonable price.
