Smooth, responsive, good battery life, clear high-res display. The screen is a new plastic/polymer type. It doesn't fold in half, but is probably less fragile than regular glass. The fingerprint sensor in the power button is quick and convenient. Big improvement over a cheap phone. Better value than an expensive, high-end phone with features I don't need.

Excellent for my requirements

This phone replaced my 5 year old Motg5. I wanted a similar phone so the changeover would not be traumatic. ( I am elderly) I was slightly concerned as there were very few reviews however I have been delighted. The phone guided me through the changeover process and everything is working perfectly . I can download more apps with the bigger memory and so far the camera seems fine. I'm very pleased by I bought this model.

Great phone for the budget price

I broke my S21 and just wanted something cheap outright until my contract is over, I have to say for the price I'm not disappointed. There's a few minor differences coming from a Samsung but overall it's easy to use, great screen and battery life... Nice and fast and unlike many other phones in this price range has NFC allowing for easy payments in-store. If you're looking for a strong performer with an entry level price tag I'd highly recommend the G82. Migration is easy with Google Sync, I had all my apps, media and contacts transferred over in little time.

Great value mobile 'phone at an affordable price.

The G82 is a sturdy, reliable device that's easy to set up out of the box. However, calibrating the fingerprint sensor was awkward and took a little time to set up. The camera is great with enough settings to make photos look great enough for most applications. Once connected to the other Google devices, it's a dream to use. Highly recommended and great value for money.

I got the G82 to replace my G8, which has been really good, but suffered a broken camera lens. So far it has been a good step up in performance and an easy change-over with almost everything automatically transferring to the new phone. Only a few apps didn't transfer. It's noticably slimmer and lighter than the G8, despite being similar in front area. Feels particularly smooth and slick. Runs nicely with the same clever gesture functions. Some things care occasionally hesitant during loading. The camera seems excellent so far, although the video resolution looks a bit grainy in comparison to stills. It's eating up my Google storage very swiftly with the extra high res photos. Very happy with it so far. Ordering through The Market was a great option. This model is very hard to find in NZ and expensive from other vendors. Between free shipping and Black Friday discounts it was 40% cheaper than the next best option.

Motorola G82 - a very capable phone for the money.
1 February 2023

I think this is a decent mid-range phone and priced well for the features that it has. I especially like the big bright OLED screen. It charges fast, has a clean Android installation and does everything I need it to do. The cameras are OK but not fantastic, and that's to be expected in this price range. I am by no means an expert regarding mobile phones, but I did a lot of research before purchasing and this phone is regarded as being one of the better mid-range offerings the market today. I'm not disappointed and am very happy with my choice.

One Fantastic Phone!
7 February 2023

Since owning the phone, it's been utterly fantastic. It has brilliant battery life of up to 3 days at times (dependant on use). But I generally get 2 days battery life every single time. I also love the fact that the phone has Dolby Atmos and built-in stereo speakers (as all phones should have these days). The camera is also great and takes great photos. The video camera is also quite good and records some quality sound as well. All up, I love this phone and it was the best purchase I ever made!

Seriously Great Battery Life!
30 January 2023

After buying this from JB at Westfield Tuggerah, I've had the phone for nearly a week. The thing that took me by surprise, was the seriously awesome battery life of the phone! In the time I've owned it, I've charged it only twice! The first time was two days later. The second time, after 3 days! My Oppo Reno 2z never lasted that long and had to charge it every day! But this, I'm impressed! Well done Motorola!

Value on the inside, feels cheap on the outside

My criteria when I bought this were: battery-saving display technology (OLED or something), latest Android (so that it will be supported for a while), 5G (for fast mobile internet, if/when available), and an audio jack (so I don't have to spend money on a Bluetooth headset). The phone meets all of these criteria. Though I have yet to see 5G ever to be available anywhere I'm traveling in Switzerland. (Could also be an issue with my data provider.) I was hoping to have an option like the dark clock display on the lock screen, like some Samsung phones have, but no dice. The software doesn't seem to be optimized towards the OLED display. (Then again, it's almost vanilla Android, which is also not wrong.) (Then again, it's almost vanilla Android, which is also not wrong.) Maybe OLED helps when I have the podcast player running with the display on, which I often do. The battery does last quite long, even for a new phone. I usually charge it once every three days at this point (a month after purchase). It does feel cheap though. The backside is plastic, and power and volume buttons don't stand out much from the frame - difficult to find with your fingers. My old phone (same price range, but bought six years earlier) had an aluminum frame and more robust buttons - I miss that. The surface is quite slippery. A number of times, the phone just slid off my nightstand while I was sleeping. (Sleeping!) Maybe there was a message that would trigger vibration? I don't know. It certainly woke me up. Luckily, nothing happened to the screen, but I'll have to do something about that.

It's very light and fast, its AMOLED screen is superb, and its stereo speakers sound really good, the camera app and quality pictures are very nice. It comes with a 33W wall charger, a USB A-USB C cable. a silicone case, and wired earphones. The side-mounted fingerprint sensor is fine, but I prefer rear-mounted ones. And the 3.5mm audio jack is located in the lower part next to the charging port, I'd rather have ir in the upper part so it doesn't hinder when standing up the phone on a surface while having wired earphones plugged in.
