*As a preface to the review, each reader should know that in the 25 years of my use of cell phones, all but one of the handsets I have ever used have been made by Motorola. My first handset was a Motorola "flip" phone, grey clamshell, pull-up short floppy antenna and orange LCD 2 line screen. Still have the "Droid" that started it all; chocolate bar with qwerty slide out keyboard. As well as 5-6 iterations of the Droid Razr: Razr, Razr Maxx, Razr ???, Turbo 1, Turbo 2; plus a couple others I can't immediately recall the model of. And I have used motorola com devices since 1985 while helping out at my father's heavy hauling company. I believe this qualifies me as a Motorola product expert.That said, the new Razr flip is not like Grandma's old flip phone...because her original worked very well with zero issues (and likely still would). In fact, the extreme pausity of build quality and reliability makes this handset unlike ANY OTHER MOTOROLA communications device I've ever used. Some past handsets had their issues. But this one has lowered the bar considerably. After registering early to get the handset, the first one had a fault I'm the headphone functioning via the mini USB charging port. I filed a repair order. Moto had me send it in. I received a like new refurbished replacement. I am now using my 7th such replacement. All failed with screen issues. Typically "ink bleed". All under full replacemt warranty. But because of necessity I have to use the service providing me with an immediate replacement before I send my original or existing one back in so I always have to make a $1,000 and some odd dollar deposit in order to get a replacement handset the next day basically. And this last time is the second time that after less than a month of not sending the original handset that is totally black screened out back into them they charged my credit card And told me not to send a handset back in. Utterly ridiculous! They will get the handset back! And they will refund my money! Specifically considering the prior handset got lost in the mail and they charge my account then found it somehow magically! Unfortunately this experience with this handset has effectively terminated my interest and utilizing any Motorola hardware. And that's a bold statement considering I've been Motorola faithful since at least 1985! Disappointing reality when a great company with great products is bought out by interests that are only focused on the financials and not the people they're selling their equipment to.

Well, to start off, The camera is not that great. My $250 Samsung A50 had a much better camera. And I would now be on my 3rd one but I'm currently trying to just switch and upgrade. I don't want the same refurbished phone phone that's going to have the same issues.amd the biggest downfall to this is having to pay off the remaining balance! My screen currently has a green line down the side. Which is what happened to the last one and then the majority of the screen went black and pink after I closed it. My camera keeps saying error and to restart camera. For no reason at all and I've tried everything to make it work. Only perk from this phone was being able to close it to hang up on someone lol I wanted this phone so badly when it came out because I loved my old ... MoreWell, to start off, The camera is not that great. This is nothing like it. I'm highly upset I wasted so much money on this.

I've wanted to get a folding phone in this form factor for a while, but didn't think the market had been there until this. Performance is snappy, the screen is bright with rich colours and the screen fold is barely noticeable. Having the small external screen is great for glancing at notifications, time etc.This "clamshell" formfactor is perfect for having a small, easy to pocket device whilst keeping a good sized screen. There's also minimal changes to Android, with the few there from Motorola being actually useful.Long term durability is still to be determined, but the included case is welcome and the hinge definitely feels very well built. Another important note is that this includes a charging cable and plug, a rareity these days.
