To be up front the sizing with MD is odd.The torso is two times my normal size to fit, sleeves are too long but tight⊠I donât have huge arms, aim for twice your normal size and prepare to roll up the sleeves.Otherwise this is an awesome jacket, feels almost polartec brand in weight and warmth. Plenty of pockets and where youâd want them, the cuffs seem to be an afterthought but time will tell.I havenât had the chance to test the waterproofing yet, but itâs definitely wind proof and warm, I had to remove the fleece I had on underneath.MD is top quality⊠must buy.

great design! it's comfortable around the chin and collar and is a good jacket for in between weather where you mainly want to block the wind and protect from showers.Having bought an XXL it suffers from the usual proportion flaws where there is an automatic assumption that if you are bigger around the middle you somehow magically have freakishly long arms. Pretty sure you'd have to be about 7 feet tall for the sleeve length to be proportional.

This Fjallraven sten is perfect for Australian winters, it light, weather proof and looks and feels great , it's got a really nice fitted look so it's great for out in the urban jungle too. In fact the cut it's so nice I don't want to use it the for bush . đ. might have to buy the vidda pro so iv a bush version. Thanks mountain design for another great product at a great price. đ

Good length, fits true to size, not really a warm jacket but stops the wind and had a better than spray proof exterior with a high collar, good hood & good sized pockets. Very handy chest pocket and a smaller sleeve pocket on left arm. The arms are not too small/narrow as I have read in the past although, they are neat. The arm holes are however smallish and cut high on the jacket giving it an odd feel and takes a while to get used to this sensation. Well finished and very versatile with some warmth for layering, good wind stopping and water resistance. Smart looking to boot.
All up I would say this is the best all-round jacket I've ever owned - it looks smart, it fits well, it's breathable yet wind and water resistant (I haven't worn it in a downpour, but it's handled showers with ease). However, it has these velcro cuffs that don't fit with the rest of the jacket (they feel like a cheap gimmick afterthought) and the tips of the cuffs don't have velcro on them so they stick out, get caught on things and un-velcro themselves. I have to revelcro the cuffs numerous times every time I wear them. Apart from the cuffs they're great and an easy 5 star, however the velcro cuffs have them hovering between a 3 and a 4.
I ordered this recently on special, I have several softshell jackets this jacket is very warm. I love the zip off hood (finally on a softshell). It has plenty of pockets (five). It is very windproof, but I have yet to test it's water proofness. It is certainly water resistant. But as other reviewers have said, the sleeves are small. I normally take a large, in us sizes I'm between a medium and large, on the advice of other reviews I ordered an extra large. I would call it a slime fit I can wear it over a shirt but nothing else and, that's fine that's what I expected and what I wanted. If want to wear this over a fleece top or down jumper, order2 sizes up.
Jacket was physically much smaller in size than the one that I had tried on in the shop. Would have bought that one, though I wanted blue, not black. It felt more like the 2xl rather than the 3xl. It is as though the wrong size label had been attached to the jacket. Took jacket back to your Devonport store and got my money back. Will wait until they are in stock again so as I can buy the one I try on.
Recently purchased this jacket to take camping. Was put to immediate use as it was raining and the temperature was quickly dropping while we set up camp. The water simply beaded off the jacket, and i remained comfortably warm. Unlike similiar jackets, i didn't raise a sweat while wearing it. It's a versitile, and light weight jacket, as i wore it while hiking, when shopping for supplies, sitting around the campfire etc. 110% pleased with my purchase.
An awesome softshell. I have just returned from the Mt Kosciuszko main range. We experienced a very chilly cold front with plenty of wind and snow. The Mt Designs Perisher soft shell performed fantastic. The outer shell proved to be wind resistant and repel light rain / snow with ease.
Very smart looking jacket that is very well made. Many zippered pockets. The lining makes it very snug and warm, same for the hood. It's a tad more slim fit than I'm used to, noticable in areas such as forearm, and this is no way a criticism but rather gives the garment it's smart appearance. I admit I'm excited when the weather bureau says a cold arctic blast is forecast in S.E. Queensland because it gives me extra opportunity to wear this garment; that's not wrong is it!!?? Lol
